Our 2nd time here . This establishment is a decent place in need of upgrade . In other words it needs to be tweaked ! Being in the hotel business 48 years i wrestled with creating a review that is / meaningful to help the next vacationers to be aware before spending against not saying anything at all . We were on family & business . I was shocked with the very low mbps internet speeds . Downe and up loads were barley obtainable . The internet was cutting in/ out off / on . The Male attendant was very apologetic offering me a room to walk into across the street where i was able to get my personal business work updated . I thank him for his understanding and the frustration the unacceptable internet services this caused myself and family . The swimming pool was not heated during our stay . While in the pool swimming there was no warm water being returned from any of the return lines . As a certified pool technician in the hotel industry with my own commercial pool i was disappointed . I walked across the street to the Coconut Villas of Redington shores 17505 with daily / monthly / weekly rentals I looked at there swimming pool . I kneeled down to feel the water . What i difference . It was very warm 88 degrees . What the paying customer would expect when you are paying $ 329.00 nightly . We had room # 120 . The accommodation was adequate only lacking dishes / plates cutlery for the kitchen area . The views were spectacular . Finally the greatest disappointment was water . It was hot water . There was no hot water for room # 120 unless you opened up the hot water tap in the kitchen sink , bathroom sink and the bathtub . Keeping them all open, was the only way to get hot water to have a hot shower ! Why , because there is no hot water circulating line in the building . Such an easy fix . Wasting water running 15 -20 minutes is a total waste especially with the water shortages due to dry spells . In summation the hired help was very accommodating . We love the hotel . We want to return , But the Internet must be upgraded . This was / is inexcusable . Hot water should be instant . A simple additional fix . Telling guest the pool is heated when it is not is distrusting to the guest . If issues like these are not attended i sadly can't come back to a place i was calling my home away from home . Unfortunately my flight was cancelled, last minute so I had no choice but to cancel my hotel. I understand company policy but sometimes life events happen and the hotel was not willing to compromise and the manager did not feel like helping at all and charged us for not staying there. The rooms on the east (intercoastal) side of the property are very modern and well-appointed. But for all the nice fixtures and the large size, they feel a bit stale. Worse, I was bit multiple times upon arrival by mosquitoes or other bugs. I've never had that experience in my decades spending the summer at Gulf beaches. The water pressure for both the shower and bathroom sink was almost abysmal. So, while the price is great for Redington and the on-paper quality of the room, the experience might not align with the marketing. read more

The location is fantastic. The beach is beautiful. The rooms are nice but could use a dresser. The internet is very spotty and not very good. The most disappointing part of the stay was the girl at the front desk, Kerrie. She is not helpful, rude and and always has an attitude. Kerrie makes you feel unwelcomed. I have other friends that stay there as well and we all feel the same way about Kerrie. The owner needs to get rid of her and I would give it a far better rating. read more

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend for Yankees spring training games. Overall a great place to stay, especially for the price!! It is literally ON the beach, 30 second walk from your room and you are on a beautiful white sand beach. No exaggeration. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. Check-in was nice and smooth even though we were a day late due to missing a connecting flight. The parking lot out front is small, probably 12-15 spots. I was able to get a spot 3 out of the 4 times I drove. There is a lot across the street owned by the hotel which is a minor inconvenience, but given the lack of land it is understandable. We stayed in a room towards the end of the pool area. The room was a little small, but clean and modern. The shower was the one issue. Whenever I tried to adjust the direction of the shower head it would pop off and I'd have to turn the shower off and replace it. I could have asked to change rooms but we were only here for 2 days so I let it be. My main complaint is that the majority of the rooms are facing the pool area, which is less than 10 feet from your door. You will frequently have people walking by your room. It is a bit of a buzzkill if you're *spending time* with your significant other and you hear children yelling in the pool. Additionally, you have to close the blinds so people can't see in your room, which significantly darkens the room when it's still light out. This is the only thing keeping me from rating the hotel 5 stars. The area around the hotel is nice and quiet. Mostly retirees in the area so it is relaxed and not spring break-y at all. Plenty of good places to eat on the strip the hotel is on. Overall, we had a great time. The convenience of the beach being right outside your door is incredible, especially for the price. Although the hotel is pretty and right on the beach which is great, the rooms are VERY small and cramped with no sitting space. The bathroom shower is the size of a pantry closet. Very VERRY tight space for the nightly cost. Not even enough space in the room for a small breakfast table so be prepared to sit on your bed to eat if you wanna eat inside and rent their double room pool side. The pool is also small for amount of guests that were there on our stay so that was a no go either. They do have a good outdoor space for grilling and pic nicking with a beautiful beach view, however, you'll also need to pack the grilling utensils you'll need to use them. Nothing in the room. No cups, glasses, utensils.... Nothing. We brought our own food from home excited to be grilling and picnicking on the beach only to have to go buy more items just to be able to do so. We have stayed at many places in this beautiful beach which have always supplied those items so I never thought I'd need to pack them. Our neighbors were smoking pot all day and night which the smell entered our room every time we opened our door, their kids were running up and down the walkway at all hours and banging around in the rooms hitting walls. Kids will be kids and this isnt the hotels fault, but dang. We had to complain to get more towels or our floors swept because it "wasn't our day for cleaning", and the TV never came off of closed captioning voice over because no one knew how to fix it. Things to know: They only have a limited number of parking spots in front of the resort and we were told that we could park...across the street... in the grass field. That should be listed on their website as "limited onsite" parking. Office hours are 9am-9pm Limited communication. I asked for an ocean/beach view and early check in and neither were addressed. Nice pool but it is not heated. No onsite bar No breakfast like other locations near by. Hot water in the shower was lacking hotness Also the fishing pier they list on their website is closed. It is clearly falling apart. BRANDING: some of the publications in the room had outdated ( the previous name of the hotel). Yet they make great note of the "fees"they will charge you if you remove items from your room. See photo's. They should want people to take the 1.00 mugs with their info on it. Lol However We would consider staying there again because the late night walk on the beach was very nice, room was clean, quiet area. I stayed here so you DON'T. Worst hotel experience ever... CON- -Parking at hotel ( not across the street at 2nd building) and pool space/chairs is about 15% of hotel capacity. On our last day, we finally managed to get pool seats and get in pool at 6pm. We parked across the street from the hotel during our entire visit. Never got a spot in the hotel parking lot. -No matter how we adjusted the temperature, our mini refrigerator froze all our food. -Promised morning coffee never available. -Low water pressure in shower -Extremely tacky clientele, hanging bathing suits and towel on pool fencing day and night, noisy, unaware of other guests. -Our "pool view" room actually looked at the back of a stair way and a fire extinguisher. Pros- Updated, clean, good location- esp beach front rooms. Pool area nice and pool towels can be checked out in office. Cons- No coffee in lobby in 4 mornings - even tho machine and all supplies there, no water source. No breakfast - not even a pop tart. No early AM swims- pool only open when office is open (9am-9pm) A/C went out so we had to move rooms. Glad room was available but still inconvenient bc no elevator. Ice machine was out half of the 5 days- no signs or communication about it being down or when it would be back running. Rates on Dec 26 considered "holiday"so higher rate. Outdoor furniture pads stained and missing buttons. Any questions about these things was just "oh well". read more

Rented a room for a large group so I needed to stay at the location across the street from the main location, which I didn't realize when booking. At first, I will admit, I was a little disappointed but that changed the minute I walked in the door!!! This facility is brand new with a modern decor. King size bed in one room, two queens in another bedroom both with their own bathrooms. A fully equipped kitchen with dining set and a living room with two queen sleeper sofas. There are 55 in tvs in all of the rooms along with free wifi. Absolutely gorgeous!!!! There is a crosswalk in front, so walking to the beach was a breeze. They had beach chairs available but we chose a walk instead. A little chilly to use the pool, but it looked nice. Perfect stay for large groups or families. read more

Checked in 3/25.... It's a good area. Plenty to do around here...eat, drink, shop, etc... The hotel itself is quaint. Clean..AND RIGHT ON YHE BEACH...thats huge for a place like this.. Semi private beach so you don't have to worry about spring break parties... The rooms are very nice and have just what you need.. beds and pillows could be a little more comfortable, but that's not a big complaint ... Definitely recommend this place... Let me start by saying that I explicitly chose this hotel because of the beachfront access, full kitchen, and the low number of floors because I am just over a month from a full hip replacement. We are celebrating our 20th (actually 21st) anniversary, as we could not last year. Although the full kitchens are across the street and it is a pain, the room and the accommodations are nice and well kept. As we were leaving the beach with all chairs and the supplies that we need to bring back to our room across the street, my wife left ahead of me to get a cart. When you leave the perimeter of the pool and beach area there is a locked gate that leads to the main office area. As she walked out and the gate closed behind her, she saw that there was no cart available and she realized she did not have her key. When my wife went in the office, the attendant who later stated his name was Gary was on the phone. After waiting for a conversation break, she asked if he could please open the gate, he became agitated and started to yell at her that she was interrupting him and she can't get in without her key! She stated that I had the key, and was still stuck at the beach and needed to get back to help me even though there was no cart available, but he was insistent that she should have her own key and refused to open the gate. When I finally got tired of waiting an lugged up all of our stuff to the front, I heard a commotion and the attendant loudly state "This is the guy who can't walk? I asked what was going on? He stated that she was ignorant and interrupted him on a phone conversation and did not have a key. He said to pack up our stuff because we were kicked out. I asked if he had the authority to evict us and for what reason? He stated that he was calling the police because she interrupted him ignorantly. I instructed him to call the police and asked if I could have the number to his manager, to which he refused. Needless to say, the police never arrived and we are still here, however, both of us are extremely disappointed and are looking for some answers? This demeaning behavior was unacceptable and completely unwarranted. read more

The place itself was great - would have had a 5 star review - but the customer service was awful; Sue specifically. We paid for an extension to 6pm, then at 5:45pm when we asked her if we could extend another hour she very quickly and rudely said "no." We missed the sunset, left, and when I asked her on the way out why we weren't able to extend her reply was that she thought I wanted the hour for free. I paid up until that point, why would you assume I'm asking for a freebie? Total BS. That kind of sour customer service leaves a bad taste in an otherwise good experience. Do better, Sue! read more

Do not book here! They are extremely dishonest. I am usually the person that questions bad reviews when there are good ones, but this was just not okay. We booked a few weeks ago to stay this weekend for my son's 3rd birthday. It was my husband and I, my mother, little brother, as well as my older brother, his wife and their daughter. We all booked rooms here, and had to cancel due to the hotel being dishonest about the red tide they are experiencing. We were told that the red tide is gone when we called about a week ago. They also flat out didn't mention about some city maintenance being done on the beach that would block off the beach in front of the hotel. They could've told us this when we booked originally. We called the city today to confirm the red tide status and the maintenance being done. The city confirmed that all businesses in the area were notified of the maintenance being done on the beach, and also confirmed that the red tide was indeed STILL GOING ON STRONG, and the lady even made a comment that it's so strong she can even smell it where she is. We called Hotel Sol back, spoke to Carrie, told her what the city had told us and she basically tried to cover herself by saying (paraphrased) "Oh well, we weren't aware of that, there's no way for us to know this unless they tell us".....okay, you can't walk out back and see the maintenance being done? You can't smell the red tide? Just awful. We are SOOOO disappointed, as last year we had such a nice time here and the rooms are so cute. We had been planning on making this our go-to hotel for our Summer/end of Summer vacations. Not any longer, we can't give our money to a business that is so dishonest to their guests. Furthermore, we had a gift card that was given to us for Christmas last year that we had been saving to use for our son's birthday vacation. Carrie (I'm assuming is the manager) basically said "Oh well, you've had a whole year to use it." about not refunding it or even extending it, although I'd rather the person be refunded that gifted us. My biggest problem here is the lack of hot water. Not once in my 4 nights here did I get any hot water. I tried different times in the day but got nothing. The beach access is amazing though. The room was nice and clean and housekeeping was nice. It is fairly quiet. Parking is across the street in the grass which is a bit inconvenient. The pillows are super hard and not comfortable at all. There is also a lack of counter space in the bathroom. The drawer in my room is broken. read more

I would like to tell you about my experience in your hotel for 3 nights, September 19th through September 22. I made a reservation 1 week in advance and paid $476.61. I reserved a jr suite with 1 bedroom with 2 double beds, a pullout bed and a roll away bed. I was told the room was beach front and very nice. He even said "when you step out of the room, your feet will be in the sand". I, my daughter and granddaughter were looking forward to having a wonderful time together. We arrived and things were different to say the least. Sue was at the desk and she was friendly and had to give us the bad news. The room reserved for me was across the street. There is no sand across the street and it certainly isn't beach front. With much time and negotiation we were moved to a nice room at the main resort. Room 135. Nice room with the exception of the pull out bed. It was terrible and impossible to sleep on but I laid on it all night the first night. We were the room farthest from the actual beach. I was charged $200 more plus all the fees. Sue tried her best to be accommodating but the other men were not very helpful. The second day went well with the exception of the pull out bed. Still no rollaway. They did say we could put a pool chair in the room to sleep on. I am 69 years old and sleeping on a pool chair. The man at the desk was trying to help me with the TV and arranged for me to sleep in the room next door. He did at least care. The 3rd day was a disaster with Gary. He was so very rude and surely did not display the kind of person that you would want to represent you and your nice hotel. He told me to get out of the other room. Then, on the 3rd night a roll away bed came. Nice bed, by the way. He was rude to us throughout the day. When he was communicated with, he would huff and roll his eyes over and over. I would have fired him immediately if I was in charge of him or if he was representing me. Day 4 we are going to check out. My daughter asked Gary for a later checkout time due to our transportation would not be here until 2. He rudely told her no. She finally got him to let us stay until 1. We must be out by then. His eyes rolling and the huffing continued today. I have always understood when there is a bad day but this is ridiculous. I think your hotel is clean and very nice, the pool was clean and beachfront was beautiful. Our trip was disappointing due to your staff. Not friendly at all without exception. I'd also like to point out that we paid to rent chairs and we had them next to us on the beach and Gary came and took one of our chairs on our last day that we had paid for, so that was also very frustrating. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, do not waste your money!! The customer service was absolutely terrible and none of the front desk people are on the same page. read more

This is the second time I've stayed at Hotel Sol and loved it. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the waterfront king rooms for our 5 year anniversary. I adore how small and cute this hotel is, eliminating hallways to walk down or elevators to take to get down to the beach. It's just right there! Rooms have been renovated since I last stayed, with new flooring, paint, showers, etc. Definitely a wonderful homey feel you won't get at the bigger hotels surrounding! read more

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, VACATION RUINED!!! Long story short, we have stayed at this POS place many times due to the location. We've endured many cold showers, horrid beds, pillows, bad Folgers make it yourself in the lobby coffee, parking across the street, small rooms, tiny bathrooms, broken ice machines, zero amenities, construction noise, police activity, in room exterminators, and loud obnoxious tenants but this time I'm done. We flew all night on a red eye from the west coast to be told upon arrival that their online reservation system had somehow screwed up and overbooked us. We are booked and don't know what happened. We had a valid confirmation number thru their website for our confirmed dates but no rooms were available. Ok, mistakes happen, I get it, but They did absolutely ZERO to help us. We had to search on a Saturday night to find anywhere to stay, which was an hour away and miles from the beach inland. All they could say is we don't know what happened and we can't do anything for you. The people on duty have zero ability to make decisions. We got a call the next day from the manager who said she was sorry and couldn't explain what happened. Again, offering little/no help for our trouble. Said she would check to see if she could comp us a portion of one night. She's the manager? Check to see? Extremely poor customer service. Their online reservation system overbooked us and we paid the price for it. Do not trust them! So many options. Go elsewhere. read more

This place is clean with amenities like grills, pool, chair rental. The problem is the clientele on most weekends. This can really affect your experience because there is no oversight! There is no smoking but it's ignored, large local groups show up on weekends with loud parties and rowdy children. If you can manage to be there at an off time it's great! I have stayed at this Hotel many times, including when it was called Hotel Isis and have always enjoyed staying at this cute boutique hotel right on the beach. We recently stayed in the newly constructed rooms across the street, which wasn't our first preference, but that was all that was available. We paid $522.06 for two nights, which we feel, for what we got was outrageous. We were surprised that a brand new building designed and built for for hotel rooms wasn't better equipped. Pros: clean, great shower, large TV, hairdryer, fridge, and good covered parking. Cons: the room wasn't large enough for two night stands, only one and it didn't even have a lamp on it. There was no closet, only a small armoire for clothes. There was no desk or other surface to put things on and plenty of room under the TV for this. There was no luggage rack, so we had to use the small sofa which meant we couldn't use it to sit on. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. There was no full length mirror, which is just something that would be nice in all hotel rooms. There was also no safe. We had put the privacy sign on our door when we left and found that someone had been in our room to replace towels. In all fairness, it could have blown off with the wind, so we are giving them the benefit of the doubt with this. We were just so disappointed, for what we paid, that a brand new hotel room wouldn't be better equipped. read more

This place is a gem! A smallish boutique hotel right on the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico in Redington Shores. The rooms have recently been remodeled and include a microwave, a small fridge, a coffee maker, and hair dryer. There is also a heated pool and a nice courtyard with plenty of seating areas for picnics, happy hour, or a game of cards during inclement weather. They also provide three gas BBQs so you can grill beachside. Just don't forget to bring the BBQ tools. We love this place! read more

My paperwork from booking the room didnt say anything different , infact the lady at the check in couldn't show me where it said that. One lady called the cops on us for laughing kinda loud with the window open, one of my family members was naked and the lady opened the door with her key. So, we live in the neighborhood (actually right up the street) and have referred many family and friends to the hotel. Even stayed there ourselves before we lived in Redington. We're having construction done on our home and need to be away for a full work week. One of us works from home so we need reliable wi-fi. Called. The phone rang and rang. Lady answers, "Can you please hold?" Sure. Waited for 10 mins, phone picked up and hung up. Called back. Same thing happened. Drive up to the hotel to talk to them in person. We live in the neighborhood, refer people, yada yada. The guy behind the counter barely made eye contact. Wouldn't give any indication about the strength and reliability of the wi-fi other than "We have a company." Ok, roll of the dice with wi-fi, but we also need a late checkout on Friday. "Is a late checkout possible?" Shrugs. "It depends on what's going on." Clearly, the questions were a bother. Terrible, terrible service. Regret recommending the place (and no one has ever raved. Hotel sol is okay. The rooms are clean and nicely maintained. Comfortable beds. Small fridge and micro but not one plate, dish, bowl or utensils. We did enjoy a 3 day stay but probably wouldn't stay longer due to the previous things I mentioned. It is right on the beach, but there are only 10 chairs or so and you can't really move them or the management will make you put them back. The front desk person made us well aware of the many rules! The rules are also printed on signs and posted everywhere! I made our reservation months ago, requesting a first floor room, as I have some difficulty close moving stairs, when we checked in, I was told that those rooms fill up quickly and I made my reservation too late. Anyway, she didn't make me feel very welcome but I didn't go there to hang out with her, so otherwise, had a good time.
