The location was perfect, quiet and beach beautiful. They got three-stars for the location, the cleanliness of our room and the hammock. Things to know: They only have a limited number of parking spots in front of the resort and we were told that we could park...across the street... in the grass field. That should be listed on their website as "limited onsite" parking. Office hours are 9am-9pm Limited communication. I asked for an ocean/beach view and early check in and neither were addressed. Nice pool but it is not heated. No onsite bar No breakfast like other locations near by. Hot water in the shower was lacking hotness Also the fishing pier they list on their website is closed. It is clearly falling apart. BRANDING: some of the publications in the room had outdated ( the previous name of the hotel). Yet they make great note of the "fees"they will charge you if you remove items from your room. See photo's. They should want people to take the 1.00 mugs with their info on it. Lol However We would consider staying there again because the late night walk on the beach was very nice, room was clean, quiet area. NOTE: it was super quiet so if your looking for more action I would recommend St. Petes beach ( great food/drink/ and people to mingle with). Red tide is minimally present. No issues for us.

What we looked at every day! Tacky

I stayed here so you DON'T. Worst hotel experience ever... CON- -Parking at hotel ( not across the street at 2nd building) and pool space/chairs is about 15% of hotel capacity. On our last day, we finally managed to get pool seats and get in pool at 6pm. We parked across the street from the hotel during our entire visit. Never got a spot in the hotel parking lot. -No matter how we adjusted the temperature, our mini refrigerator froze all our food. -Promised morning coffee never available. -Low water pressure in shower -Extremely tacky clientele, hanging bathing suits and towel on pool fencing day and night, noisy, unaware of other guests. -Our "pool view" room actually looked at the back of a stair way and a fire extinguisher. We faced an entry light that stayed on all night. PRO- -Beautiful beach with plenty of chairs -Outstanding cleaning/maintenance staff. Gary, in particular, was great!

Rented a room for a large group so I needed to stay at the location across the street from the main location, which I didn't realize when booking. At first, I will admit, I was a little disappointed but that changed the minute I walked in the door!!! This facility is brand new with a modern decor. King size bed in one room, two queens in another bedroom both with their own bathrooms. A fully equipped kitchen with dining set and a living room with two queen sleeper sofas. There are 55 in tvs in all of the rooms along with free wifi. Absolutely gorgeous!!!! There is a crosswalk in front, so walking to the beach was a breeze. They had beach chairs available but we chose a walk instead. A little chilly to use the pool, but it looked nice. Perfect stay for large groups or families.

Sunset from right outside the hotel

Checked in 3/25.... It's a good area. Plenty to do around here...eat, drink, shop, etc... The hotel itself is quaint. Clean..AND RIGHT ON YHE BEACH...thats huge for a place like this.. Semi private beach so you don't have to worry about spring break parties... The rooms are very nice and have just what you need.. beds and pillows could be a little more comfortable, but that's not a big complaint ... Definitely recommend this place... We will be back!!

As a visitor, I had a nice stay at Hotel Sol. This was a solo trip to see some family and I needed a room that close to them. The room was small but it had a kitchenette, a king bed, coffee in the front office, and it's everything that I needed. It has modern updates, a pool and of course, the beach. Sunsets here are incredible and all the guests come out to watch the sun dip below the horizon. In this price point, Hotel Sol is a good option.

Stayed here for 4 wonderful nights and sunny days! Our room is so impressively modern in-spite of being small but have everything. We stayed at room 104, wifi worked great for video call, have half size but spacious refrigerator, have toaster, have microwave. Have pantry for free coffee in the morning. Can rent beach chair. Special mention the surrounding...Plants are really for tropical mood! The swimming pool is always clean! Pretty good access to the beach! Love our stay here!

Great location right on the beach. They do have rooms across the street but the rooms right by the pool and beach were great

There is also a heated pool and a nice courtyard with plenty of seating areas for picnics, happy hour, or a game of cards during inclement weather.

Its very disheartening to give a negative review on a place that was our family go to for over 10…read moreyears, but this is warrented. We arrived later on July 23rd and obtained or keys from the late night (mailbox) drop. Upon entering the room, unit 1, you could tell that things have gone down hill (I had stayed in the same unit in April 2018). We kept in the back of our head the location was perfect and we were "regulars". This was the only thing that kept us from totally losing our cool. Unit 1 is in DIRE need of a overhaul and extreme cleaning! The floors through the unit were dirty and lots of sand. The blinds in the living room and kitchen don't look like they have been cleaned in years! Ceiling fan in kitchen is coated in dirt, as was the twin bed room. The bedding (yes bedding) had spots from previous guests so clearly was not washed prior to us arriving. We spent one afternoon down the street (next to 7-11) at the laundry mat washing everything off the beds (mattress pads were even stained and full of sand). The two couches in the living room are very very dirty, torn and worn down! We covered them with sheets while we were there so you could safely sit on them. The fire alarm had been removed from the wall, the shower does not drain right away and we were given 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper and paper towels to use for the week (for 5 people)! Out of the whole week we were there, saw the property manager out of her unit (2) for maybe 20 minutes total. She does not clean the units or the property and you will never see her in the office. This is NOT the way it was before she came on board. The outside: could use new paint, the lawn is in horrible shape, the pool could use a really good cleaning to remove residue off the sides and needs new pool rope, furniture is very dirty and metal chairs in front need replaced before someone gets hurt on them as the grating is broken and sharp. It is really a shame how much this place has deteriorated by the lack of one person. Property owners should realize the potential the monterey has and need to fix it asap. Unfortunately for us, it may be time to just move on. *Our total for the week was $1017 which included the $75 cleaning fee. I also checked realtor.com and saw that unit 2&4 are both for sale (with a yearly $375 hoa fee) so I'm not sure where all the money is going, but it's not back into the business.

My husband and I spent a few nights in a one-bedroom condo here while visiting my relatives in the…read morearea. Although the motel had some flaws, we were charmed by the place and found it to be quite reasonable for the price. Our one-bedroom unit was quite spacious and decorated in a sort of funky grandma "Old Florida" style. You know... kitschy 70's era upholstery, mis-matched vintage dishes in the kitchen, rather worn bedspreads, and appalling wall art. If you want a sleek, modern room, you will not enjoy this place. But, if you want to feel like you're staying with your dotty great aunt with most of the comforts of home, you'll settle right in. The motel does not have beach access, but if you're willing to walk a bit you can access the public beach at various points along Gulf Boulevard. They have a pool, which we did not use but seemed clean enough. The wi-fi was great, so instead of using either of the unit's 2 TVs we watched streaming Netflix on my laptop. And the kitchen was pretty impressive for a motel: we had a full complement of pots and pans and dishes, full-sized fridge and freezer, decent amount of cabinet space, and so on. It would work well for an extended stay for those trying to be frugal by cooking their own meals. The downsides: It's not for neat-freaks. You could definitely tell that the linens were old (but clean), and the kitchen and bathroom also showed wear and tear. Also, the bedroom of our unit backed right up onto a parking lot, which was brightly lit all night (curtains didn't really block the light). Finally, the sheets kept coming untucked from the mattress -- the bottom sheet was pretty old and had lost elasticity. I'd stay here again, since the other option is staying in my grandparents' spare room, but if you're looking for a luxurious vacation, it might not be right for you.
