I am amazed at how great this hotel is. We were here in this area for a few days and we had a wonderful time. It is located by Madeira beach. We had no issues for the entirety of our stay and the staff was friendly and helpful. The beach is literally down the hall!! There are also hammocks, and several grills available, oh and plenty of lounge chairs. My favorite part of the day was going to the beach and pool all day. (Ikr) You could also rent chairs and umbrellas for $10 a piece but the umbrellas didn't do the job. I mean it was so windy and the plastic pieces just bent easily that the umbrella didn't provide shade for too long so I definitely recommend bringing your own. The hotel features a couple of suites next to the beach which would have been nice to get but those cost more. Our room was very clean and included a microwave and fridge. And access to free wifi! Right next to the hotel there is a long pier which we didn't get the chance to go on so maybe next time. There's only a few restaurants/ stores within walking distance but luckily our friends drove us around. Definitely recommend checking out John's pass shopping village if you can. There's free parking by the hotel but there are not many spots so you'd have to park across the street otherwise. If we do find ourselves here again we will definitely rent a car so we can explore more at our convenience. I especially liked the feel of it being a private beach feel as it wasn't crowded anywhere nearby! This place was a fantastic find! The fiancée planned a quiet weekend for us to celebrate our engagement and he did a great job in picking this place. It's is a small hotel located right on the beach. This property is very well maintained and it looks like it was recently remodeled( the new name is Hotel Sol.). It has a decently sized pool, grills right on the beach and lots of seating area. Our room had a kitchenette with a pretty good sized fridge. The room was spotless. The housekeeping service does a fantastic job. The hammocks outside offer fantastic views and you truly feel like you are in paradise. We will definitely be back. read more

We stayed for 6 days in April of 2011. Great Little Hotel! Very Clean and the location is great. Very quiet area right on the beach. Hammocks were comfy and they have beautiful landscaping. It's easy to walk to great restaurants like sweet sage, conch republic, ect... Only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars was because there were a few things different than I expected. First the pool was not heated, in fact I think the Ocean was warmer when we were there. Secondly, there are only 10 parking spots on premises, if they are full then you have to park across the street. Not a huge inconvenience but still worth noting. All in all we will definitely be back, most likely this spring :) THANKS! read more

My boyfriend and I were staying at this hotel and when we arrived at the hotel there was a lady with blonde hair that worked during the day and she was completely rude to us. We asked her for a second parking pass because we drove two separate cars and she told my boyfriend that I would have to park on the street because they don't give out two parking passes. He then asked her for change for a dollar so he could get a soda out of the machine and she said that he would have to go across the street to the Circle K to get change. The next day we went to leave our room and noticed that the doors were unlocked and we went to the front desk to ask them why our doors were unlocked and they said "because they are cleaning the rooms" I don't think that is safe and the rooms could have been open the whole night. The entire time we were there she would give us dirty looks. I do want to say that this hotel is a decent place to stay minus the one staff members. read more

I am hesitant to write this review in fears that "our little secret on the beach" will become too popular and prices will go up. We absolutely love this place. We have stayed in the beach facing bottom room and the same larger room upstairs. Step outside, and boom, right on the beach. I can not speak to the internally facing rooms (facing the pool) as we haven't stayed in one of those. My wife sure fell in love with being able to walk about 10 feet and be on the beach. She would lay in the hammock and relax and read a book while I was across in St Pete for work. We liked it so much that we came back with our whole family. We almost always had to park across the street as we typically are on the go pretty late, but it is fine. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, even when we checked in late the first day and needed an extra pillow. The pool was clean, and when we have been there, it was almost always empty. I mean you have the ocean right there, but it is nice to get wet without all of the salt from time to time. Cheaper than many places, more character than most, all from a little family run business that is tucked away between the large monster sized places. We travel to Florida on average once every year, and when on the west coast, this is now our top place to stay. read more

Stayed here for a night as part of my wedding extravaganza -- my partner and I needed a room for one night before we could move into a condo on the beach with a bunch of friends. We picked Hotel Isis because we wanted to support an independent hotel, and we had a positive experience overall. The bed was SUPER comfy. I propped myself up with the 5 pillows (thank you for not being stingy with pillows!), made myself a cup of tea in the kitchenette, and read happily for hours. A+ bed, which is really all you need from a hotel. Hotel Isis also has a truly beautiful courtyard and pool area in the center of the hotel. Other guests who stayed there for our wedding spent a lot of time hanging out by the pool, chatting, and relaxing. The hotel's beach access is also very pretty, and complete with hammocks for the ultimate in Florida lounging. I had to lower my rating a bit because there were a few issues. First and foremost, the sound-proofing and light-proofing in the room were not great, and that is a problem. We could hear people rolling their luggage past our door, and it happened a lot because our room was near the front entrance. There were also no curtains for the windows, just wooden blinds, and there was a little glass panel in the door to our room that couldn't be covered. If you're a light sleeper, you might have trouble with this. When I took a shower, the water took FOREVER to get hot. I had to leave it running for like 5 minutes before venturing in. But, once it warmed up, there was plenty of hot water. Finally, the staff at the front desk are only in from 9 AM to 10 PM. We needed to check out first thing in the morning, and ended up having to wait for the staff to arrive. They will make arrangements if you talk to them ahead of time, so make sure to let them know if you need to check in or check out at off hours. I would still stay here again if I got a good rate (we found a great deal on hotels.com), but if I had to pay full price, I might opt for a chain instead. read more

This is my go-to spot on the Gulf Coast. Clean hotel, small but efficient rooms and nice secure feeling. Great courtyard with landscaped pool area and beach access is perfect, right next to the historic Long Pier and nearby the Seabird Sanctuary. Most of the rooms face inward on the pool/courtyard (lovely) so not many beach views, but you should be outside anyway because the hotel is on one of the best strips of beach in the county. :) Lots of beach lounge chairs, perfect hammocks, spots for grilling and a really casual beach vibe. Easy access to Indian Rocks beaches and Treasure Island entertainment, plus great local dining spots. Giving four stars because the pool has never been heated (despite sign out front) and so we haven't been able to enjoy it on many of our stays....and the room cleaning service starts knocking on doors before 9am, which would be fine if this was a business hotel but it's not okay on vacation. Parking is also a bit of a thing, but if you follow the rules and display your tag, you'll be fine. Overall a lovely place that I've enjoyed many times with my small family. A small business providing great service with pride. read more

What a great little find on Redington Beach! My husband and I stayed here for one night while on a long weekend away, but will be back for sure!!! The rooms and the courtyard are nicely decorated. The location can't be beat! There are grills, hammocks, and beach chairs on the beach. A perfect place to watch the sunset and relax away from the hustle and bustle! The price can't be beat for the value and this area! The only reason I did not give it a five star is because it didn't have a hot tub. The Hotel Isis was clean and in a great location. Several great restaurants were within walking distance... we chose to walk the beach and use one of many, many beach access points. Swimming pool included a small waterfall and it opened right up to a wonderful white-sand beach! Staff was helpful and friendly. Reddington beach... I spent most of my time flying stunt/traction kites for which there was ample room. People passed by regularly along the beach and seemed happy and friendly! This little place is great. It's small with lots of charm. The room is nice, clean and everything seems to be maintained. Didn't get into the pool so can't really comment on that but it looks clean. Our gulf front (king sized bed) room has an awesome view. We walk out on a bricked patio then straight on the sands of the beach. We came Valentines week and for the most part the weather has been great. Great place to walk the beach. This is not a commercial area, it's mostly retirees. Which makes it very quite and not a lot of traffic on the street during the day. There are a few local hangouts within walking distance. But there's plenty close by within a 5-10 min drive. The road out front has tons of crosswalks. Press a button and the lights flash for traffic to stop so you can cross. It's so nice, and the people down here respect it and a lot of them wave to you when you cross. I give Hotel Sol a 5 star review because the staff are super nice and the place is exactly what it shows in the pics. We will definitely be returning read more

We would have given a four star rating because we really like this hotel. It is very close to the water, is kept up very nicely, and the price is decent for a hotel on the beach. It has a beautiful pool and overall just a great place for a getaway. We are locals so we know what we're looking for in a staycation. We have a two bedroom suite that is very nice for our family. The reason it doesn't get a higher rating is the rooms by the pool can be a little noisy, and they do not have curtains to darken the room only wooden blinds. You can hear luggage rolling by because of the pavers. We also found the Internet service is terrible. Although it is a staycation my wife and I both had to work some and we could not get Internet service in our room. We have told the desk on at least three or four occasions and all they can say is the owner will not fix it. Other than that we really love it the name has been changed from Isis to Sol so don't let that confuse you. read more

This hotel is AMAZING, very relaxing!!! Location of this hotel is wonderful. The hotel has is locate right on the beach making it easy to watch the beautiful sunset. On the beach, there are a few beach chairs, a few hammocks, a couple of tables with benches and a few barbecues for guests. You can make your own dinner on the beach. From the hotel, you can go out to the beach, stay on the beach, go for a long walk or go to the fishing pier. The hotel has also beach chairs and umbrellas for rent. It costs $10 per item for the whole stay. Inside the hotel are a beautiful courtyard and a nice, clean swimming pool with sun beds. The hotel provides towels for the pool. The rooms are comfortable, a nice TV, bathroom with a big glass walk-in shower, each room have kitchenette with fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. The rooms are very, very clean. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. Beautifully maintained and clean. In the reception is a fresh coffee every morning. The hotel has a small parking but across the street is additional parking. I never really had a problem with parking. From the hotel, you can walk to the great restaurants. Service at the hotel is very attentive and friendly. We needed use the printer and fax machine one day. Carrie really helped us a lot. The next day, she asked us if we need more help. Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful. I loved this hotel. A hidden gem. The atmosphere was very casual and beautiful. Because it's small and seemed uncrowded it felt like we owned the place. The pool was sparkling clean and the beach was never crowded. Only one of the grills was working as the others were out of propane the entire stay, but people were great about taking turns and they were an awesome feature. We grilled out multiple times during our stay. I'd absolutely stay here again. One thing to note is that bc it's beachfront there's sand everywhere. My bed was sandy every night and there's no way to prevent it with everyone going back and forth to the beach all day. Can't hold that against the hotel, they did their best to remove it during housekeeping. Small but clean. read more

I stayed here for a family wedding last week. It is on a lovely spot of the beach. The rooms are simple and clean. The grounds are simple and clean. All & all a lovely time was had - but mostly because it was my family. I do not plan on returning. Several things I did not care for. 1. Housekeeping comes by at 9am. We were up & at em - but most vacations - that is not the case. There are 40 rooms - is it really necessary to start so early? 2. We had many of our guests come in on Thursday night - there were still other guests there. And they were bothered by the noise. Totally understandable - but the hotel should've planned better to have these folks aware and/or in different rooms. Plus the night staff - she was seriously stressing about it - seemed to have trouble dealing with it. 3. When checking in - not only did you have to pay the full amount then (I've never paid at checkin - always at checkout) - we were told that they could not accept more than one card on a room. Strange - but whatever - the woman directed me to an ATM down the street. So I paid my portion in cash - and my sister paid hers on her card. But then - almost a week later - my sister realized she was charged twice - once for her amount - once for my amount. I called because she was not in an area with cell service and could not deal with - but needed that money available ASAP. Having to deal with the manager (Carey) on several phone calls where she explained that she could do nothing for us unless there was proof of the cash payment that was made - or that her drop receipt indicated we gave cash - otherwise we were out of luck. No apologies were made for the inconvenience - no mention of how they could make it better - nothing. I had to follow up twice. And was basically told - "I don't understand how $160 could be a big deal." And finally had to kind of throw a fit for there to be any resolve. Still was left with wondering if we would ever get our money back. I understand that there are processes and systems to be worked. But if you can't communicate to your customer that you have their best interest and experience (and their money!) in mind - you lose customers. I would've put this on my list of places to return to. Now I will not. The resolve came about 10 minutes later when a very curt message was left indicating that they were crediting my sister's card. Again - no apology. No thank you. Not one thing that would make me come back. Cheers to you Hotel Isis. The beautiful Gulf might be the only thing that keeps you in business. My husband and I stayed here for a Friday & Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. We were in town for a wedding where they had rooms blocked at the Double Tree down the street, but we decided to stay here instead. It was less expensive and closer to the wedding venue. I am very glad to have decided to do that- our rooms were certainly nicer than the more expensive hotel down the street. Very comfortable king size bed and kitchen and bathroom. We were in the room which was furthest from the ocean, which is not far at all! The beach amenities are great and the beach is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Only downside was they started gardening at 9AM on Saturday morning right outside of our window which woke us up. read more

Prices so low heads were rolling! Driving from Tampa bay we needed a place to stay and wanted beach access. Found this hotel with good reviews and decided to give it a try. The room was basic and had tile floor. Bathroom was small. Air conditioning worked great and the tv showed the basic channels. The best part was proximity to the beach. Was very relaxing and really enjoyed waking out right on the beach. Good prices make this a good value! read more

Awesome price for a dream vacation hotel! The rooms were clean. We stayed in an ocean-facing room and WOW! Two steps away from a beautiful beach. Hammock right outside the room. Small hotel with a very comfortable, friendly feel. The price is amazing. They provide beach towels that you can change out as often as you'd like. You can rent chairs, at $10 for your entire stay, that you can take down to the water. Otherwise, they have lounging chairs up by the rooms. Pool was very clean and comfortable. Grills were open to grill burgers and hot dogs and they were always clean as well. Just couldn't ask for a better spot. Don't let the name scare you away, as we almost did. This place is a gem! First room we were assigned the AC was not working. The wife and I decided to take a swim at 9:10 pm, not possible, pool is locked down with bicycle chains at 9 pm. No continental breakfast, and they don't even provide coffee for their guests in the lobby. Granted they have a coffee maker next to the toaster, paper plates, and plastic silverware, but it was filled with water the two days I was there. The staff was 50% awesome and 50% rude. I watched her run a smoker out into the rain (the smoking area) and laughed at him for having to stand in the rain. Don't waste your money here, there are too many small cozy hotel/motel independent operators on this beach who do provide and care for their guests. read more

My first comment is about the cleanliness....it is immaculate, inside and out. The courtyard is landscaped very nicely, with a pool. This is a boutique-type hotel, flanked by more modern condos on either side. Our room was a king, with a wet-bar, refrigerator, microwave, with granite counter tops. Yes, the blinds are faux wood, but they give enough privacy, and present a more stylish look than your typical hotel curtains. Tile flooring from throughout was kept swept and sand-free while we were there for 3 days. The bathroom was small, with a glassed, walk-in, tiled shower. It was lacking a spot to store toiletries, so i used the small window ledge. Also, there was no hook for a bathrobe, but these are minor inconveniences. The light through the door window was not a problem since I always have a sleeping mask when I travel. The sound-proofing was not the best. We could hear a baby crying next door to us, but attentive parents didn't let it go on long. It could have been very problematic. Its a laid-back part of Florida, and the beach-front property was perfect for privacy. There are plenty of places to sit in the shade, or in the sun, if you don't mind dragging a chair out. They have beach chairs in the office for rent for $10, which I thought was a tad ridiculous....just be prepared and bring your own. The hammocks are a nice touch. Our first day there we were given a towels with a couple large holes. I pointed that out to the cleaner so the blame would not rest with us. I was surprised that they would think it appropriate to use a towel in that condition. Parking was first-come-first-serve, but crossing the street is hassle-free. Weird that the office didn't open until 9. We left for breakfast, only to have to come back to check-out.....not the best customer service. Aside from that, they attendants were friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back and request a room that opened onto the beach with the ocean view. The hotel is very close to the Redington Shores Long Pier, where you can fish, or just observe for $3, and lots of good places to eat. Try Crabby Bills in Indian Rocks. Its not too bad. We liked Kenny's for a good, reasonably-priced, no frills breakfast. Went to Sweet Sage, for a rather expensive breakfast, but it was a cute place, and the food was good. Bad Ass coffee is close by, and I would recommend that, as well. read more

I travel for a living and stay at major chains 3-4 nights a week. We wanted an area a little less touristy, and we found this hotel, and it had good reviews so we have it a shot. We called directly and got a real good deal on an oceanfront king suite (slow week). Upon walking in, we were surprised by the landscaping inside. Beautiful old world Florida type foliage. The pool was saltwater and very clean. The beach has an almost private feel to it, due to it being surrounded by condos. There are bbqs, hammocks, and I thought it was cool that there were sand toys for the kids, along with pool noodles, beach balls etc. The room itself was perfectly adequate for a few days at the beach. The king bed was comfortable, our daughter slept great on the pullout bed too. There were ceiling fans and the A/C worked great. There is a mini fridge and a microwave, so cooking is not really an option besides aforementioned bbqs. The only downside was that there is no fitness center, and that on the pier next door, there is a bait shop, which, when the wind is right can smel a little bait-ish, but that only happened for like 20 minutes day 1, while we were in the gulf swimming. There is a convenience store across the street, a coffee shop, and a great little ice cream/wrap store. The staff were all nice too. Definitely staying here again if we come back to this area. Yes, the towels are not new, amenities are basic, but it's a true mom and pop feel...beach chairs/umbrellas you can rent for only $10 for your stay, gorgeous quiet beach. No touristsy stuff, just miles of white sand and green gulf. Beautiful gardens throughout, pool with chairs in the middle. Comfy firm beds and good coffee makers. It's not the Waldorf Astoria obviously but I absolutely loved this hotel. Small & quiet, staff was excellent & very helpful. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable enough for a few nights & the tile floors are heated. It's was too cold to take advantage of the pool during our stay but it was clean & had plenty of nice lounge chairs & some pool toys available for kids to use. The courtyard area is beautiful with a couple picnic tables and casual sitting areas. The beach was great, plenty of lounge chairs out on the beach to use as well as beach chairs & umbrellas available at the front desk. There are hammocks at the beach and picnic tables & probably my favorite feature were the large gas grills right on the beach. Grilling utensils were available from the front desk, we grilled steaks for dinner and chicken & burgers for lunch during our stay. I would recommend stopping at the Dollar Tree right down the road near Madeira Beach for some plastic plates & knives if you plan to grill something you need more than a plastic knife to cut through (foam plates/bowls & plastic silverware are provided at the hotel). I picked up a 4 pack of plastic plates and a couple steak knives for 2 bucks & just left them in the room when we checked out. The location is far enough away from the tourist attractions to feel secluded & private but close enough to hop in the car & be in the middle of all the action in 5 minutes. There is a fishing pier right next to the hotel, a few restaurants in walking distance, grocery store & fast food about 5-10 minute drive away. We were visiting during the Treasure Island Kite Festival & I highly recommend that if it is going on during your stay. I will absolutely be staying at this hotel again, loved it!! read more

This place nearly ruined our vacation. First of all, although their website doesn't specify a heated pool, I specifically asked over the phone, and the woman told me that it IS heated, but sometimes it doesn't work. We would never have booked with them if the woman had told us that if we were looking for a warm pool, we should look elsewhere- the pool is BONE-CHILLING, and our kids won't even go in it. Then, the room the put us in has paint or mold fumes- it actually gave me a headache in the first 10 minutes. When we asked to be switched, the only other room they would offer us (which also smelled) only had two double beds, and there are 4 of us. They wouldn't offer us ANY discount or refund, and said they couldn't smell anything (even my fiance and the kids could smell it, and said it smelled bad). The rooms are efficiency-style, with little kitchens, but unlike any efficiency-style hotel I've ever stayed at, there aren't any cups, plates, bowls, glasses, or eating utensils- we had to go buy our own. Even sitting by the pool, the lounge chairs are ancient and all have a bar that goes right across where you sit, which means they're painful and hurt you as soon as you sit down. They'll RENT you better chairs to use on the beach. The worst part is that the desk really just has a "Deal with it, you already paid, so you're stuck" attitude which is REALLY terrible in the service industry. We were allowed to check an hour early and set up in our room overlooking the beach. Room was very nice with a good bed and nice flatscreen TV. We had our own recliners outside our room on the patio overlooking the beach. We enjoyed how close our access was. The beach was great and the pool was too. A little pricey compared to alternatives but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. read more

We only stayed one night on this trip, so this place was perfect for what we needed. It's within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, so we didn't even need to move the car the whole time. We got here before check-in, and the lady at the desk was very friendly and allowed us to leave the car parked, so we wouldn't have to drive around looking for parking. When we checked in, the room was clean and had everything we needed. The pool was clean and well kept. There is direct beach access right behind the building. They have hammocks and loungers for guests so long as you don't move them far from the hotel. There is a beautiful courtyard in the center of the rooms by the pool with seating as well as a covered area by the beach with tables. If I'm back in the area, I would definitely return here. They are currently changing their name from Hotel ISIS to Hotel Sol. The Isis name comes from mythology, not current events. They had pictures of the god Isis in the lobby. Don't let the name scare you! read more
