If you book online this place is pricey. We actually used an agent who specializes in rail travel,…read moreso I'm not entirely sure how much we paid for this hotel. It was all one lump sum for the package. When we arrived they had a really cool thing at the train station. There's a phone with a board that lists hotels. You find yours, punch in the three digit number, and it rings the hotel. Then they send their "trolly" for you. It's really an electric vehicle that is a cross between a golf cart, a minivan, and one of the square Scion cars. I noted all the taxis were electric, too. But the hotel car was free!! Incredible view from our room (overlooking the river, the cemetery (quiet neighbors!), and the Matterhorn). The room was adequately spacious that we weren't cramped with the three of us and our bags. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was in good shape. We got the breakfast as part of the package, and it was a decent European breakfast. No fridge in the room (though it got cold enough at night we used the balcony to store a few things). No microwave either. No safe (that I saw). The staff was very friendly and helpful. In terms of amenities it's probably 3 stars. But the location and the view have to count for something! And for a European hotel the room was very spacious. This was probably the best hotel of our entire trip. I would definitely want to stay here again if we ever return to Zermatt. It does appear they cater to skiers in the winter.

Clean rooms, nice views, good location. Reservation and booking process/terms are onerous. We had a…read morebad experience with cancellation policy: Hotel management takes position that the notice period "change or cancel 4 days before arrival" does not apply to the particular date to be changed or canceled, but to the the first day of the entire stay. This means if one wants to cancel a reservation for July 28, one can do so until July 23 if one only booked one day, but one would have to cancel before July 10 if you are staying from July 14-28. These would penalize long-term guests and seem to makes little sense from perspective of business or guests.

I think that this hotel is fairly new, which is why it doesn't have any reviews or photos yet. This…read moreplace was one of the best that we stayed in while in Zermatt, and we even stayed at the Riffelhaus! The hotel has nice finishes, kind of modern mountain style, and our room was on the top floor with wood beam paneled vaulted ceilings. The bath tub was big enough for both of us, and the spa amenities were great. There is a humid sauna, dry sauna, upstairs sauna and outdoor hot tub, and a massage treatment room. The bartender gave us a Welcome drink (you can choose from prosecco, beer, or wine), and we got a cocktail afterwards as well. Mine was the 22 Summit cocktail which was a cucumber refresher and it was one of the best cocktails that I had the entire time I was in Zermatt. Staying here made us not want to leave, and I wish we had stayed here another night before our trip ended! Great hotel.

If you want a hotel room with a stunning view, this is your place!…read more I'm currently located on the top floor with an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn and let me tell you, I can spend hours upon hours starting at its beauty! Checking in was super easy. The front staff is super sweet and walked us to the room, helping us with our luggage. A warm welcome after walking outside in the cold. The room itself is awesome. It's a bit bigger than I thought it would be, which is a total plus! My only complaint is that there isn't too much room for large suitcases. Other than that, I love it. Bed firmness is perfect. Similar to my bed at home. Soft top layer but firm base mattress. Not too firm, just right! The spa is small but very clean and relaxing. The jacuzzi is a nice size and has a beautiful view is the snow covered rooftops. Breathtaking! The location to me is ideal! It's about a 15 minute walk from the city center, but the streets are quiet and peaceful. Which is what I wanted! Overall, this place has been amazing so far! I'm hoping for some fresh snowfall during my 4 night stay here. Elsa, let it goooo! Quick Tips: 1. Staff is very good at respond to emails. They answered all my questions prior to arrival. 2. Book 4 nights or more and save!
