I had booked this hotel via a third party hotel service app. Unfortunately we did not use the room. We left because of the horrible experience my significant other had experienced when I was not there. The security guard tried to break into the room after multiple attempts after my partner clearly stated that there was someone in the room. I was not there at the moment as I was running errands nearby. I had received a call from my significant other crying in fear that someone was trying to get into her room. She locked herself in the restroom while contacting me. She kept locking the door and he kept trying to open it. Luckily, she had put the security lock on the door before his attempt to get in. That was able to stop the secuirty guard from coming in. He even tried to reach with his hand to remove the security lock. I had to drive by quickly to the hotel because of fears that something was going to happen to her. She is traumatized from the experience. Who knows what could have happened if the security  guard would of been able to get into the hotel? My question is, why is the security guard trying to get into a hotel room without the person's permission? Let alone, trying to force himself into the room? That is disturbing! By the time I got there, no one was there, I couldnt find the security guard. We grabbed our stuff and left. I had to book another hotel in the city of Downey after we left. I tried reaching out to the hotel via their email contact and they never responded back. Hence, why I am leaving this review. I got here to check in and the line was to the door and I stood in line for over 20 mins there was only 1 front desk clerk till another one finally showed up. There was crumbs in the chair in the room along with a broken piece of glass. There was hair on the bathroom floor and the tub disgusting. The top blanket on the bed had crumbs and you can just tell it wasn't cleaned very good. The housekeeper came knocking on the door to clean at 8:50. I would never stay again personally. read more

A basic, inexpensive stay, but just okay. We found this place just outside Anaheim, not far from Long Beach. The first impression was that getting to the place was very confusing. It turns out that the listed address to be used via GPS brings you to an entrance that is closed at night. Upon finally checking in, the room was fairly basic. Clean, but nothing overly special. The pool and hot tub were decent. The outside grounds could use some work, but this isn't a luxury hotel, so I can't complain too much. Overall, it was a fine place to stay to crash the night and head over to Long Beach Airport in the morning. They get bonus points for actually having an open and clean hot tub. This place gets 0 zero stars. This is more like a hotel/apartment complex with regulars. Rooms are disgusting, smell of cigarettes and mold, we bounced around to 3 rooms to figure out they were all just as bad. Decided to stay there to get some sleep with AC since there was a heatwave and my family's house in LA has no AC. AC in all 3 rooms worked very lightly with little air and not very cool. It was a waste of money. Our room had dried boogers on shower curtain. Seems like everyone in these rooms just party. Staff and security were very pleasant and tried hard to work with us. We were just tired and hot and wanted some sleep. After reading everyone's reviews seems like this is a norm. Didn't see any suspicious activity but definitely felt like suspicious activity around the complex. I had a horrific stay. Would never stay here again. TV was very small and limited channels. So I went in search for a TV guide. I wish I hadn't. The paper had a dead bug. I was disgusted and turned off the TV and decided to go to bed. I pulled down the sheet and as I prepared to go to sleep I smelled something funny. I smelled the sheets and it was awful. I cant even describe the smell. I immediately stripped the bed. There was no extra covers in the room so I slept with my clothes and jacket. I checked into the saddleback hotel on the 14th of March 2020. Everything looked nice when driving into the hotel property, lobby looked elegant. Check in was very fast and easy, the walk to the room was good no bad encounters. The room itself looked very clean, I did a search (I usually check around for roaches or trash etc) found nothing. But 20 mins later after relaxing I decide to brush my teeth and as I'm brushing I look down to the sink to spit & MY GOD!!! There was a huge Cockroach, I'm not talking about something small it was HUGE !! I took pics and videos also called the front desk to switch room or discount the room since it's already inconvenient for everyone at this hotel to pay $10 a day for the fridge and microwave. They weren't helpful at first, but after bugging them they finally said you can have the fridge for free with your stay here. So this gave me more of a reason to check around the room, but everything was good didn't find no more roaches. Bed covers needed a change I can tell they have not been changed for months. I have been 3 times in this hotel, the first two were excellent, so I decided to go for my third time, after checking in at the lobby I asked what size of bed the room has, the lady answered that i doesn't matter because it depends on the availability of the hotel!? But when you book a room you get charged more for a king bed instead of two beds. So I had a king bed room and was ok with me even though that her answer wasn't accurate at all and at the same time careless! this time they send me to the 5th building, as soon as I arrived there to park my car, I see a guy chasing my car and staring in front of my car, he was asking to fight me, I manage to get out of the situation by waiting on the car and went to the room called the lobby and the lady said call 911, even though the hotel has its own security. I get inside the room the carpet was dirty full of marks, but the most disturbing thing was the shower head which was placed very low and I had to bend on knee to take a shower even though I am 5'7 not that tall at all! Was a horrible night and in the morning I said about the guy chasing me and her answer was, oh we had a party yesterday!? Since then is allowed to chase people and ask them to fight because of a party? I didn't continue the conversation because I would be more upset and I would feel more played by her answers so I left! Where to start? Christine Gutierrez, the Director of Sales is AMAZING. She is the most, friendly, nice, professional, and helpful person ever. We recently celebrated my daughter's 15 (Quinceañera) and thank god for her. Everything went perfectly. The place was immaculate, and elegant. Her staffs, from the Servers, to the Front Desk Agents, Security Guards, were extremely courteous and helpful. My daughter smothered cake on my face, and off to the rescue was one of the servers (sorry to say I did not get her name), and handed me some napkins. The rooms are clean, very well appointed, and an exceptional value. There is a Club in this hotel as well. If you like 80's Disco music, this is definitely the place. Again THANKS Christine! Not a good first impression. We were told the wrong location for our room. Had to go back to the front desk because the room keys did not work. And instead of asking me if I put it in with the arrows first, she said you had to put it in with the arrows first like I was a freaking idiot. And there's no ice. Yes, I did see a cockroach but it's outside on the sidewalk outside the parking lot. The beds are amazingly comfortable.Nice would recommend don't trust the neg comment "Advantage Rental Car" - Guys don't choose this. This rental car place is what you call trash. My family has already prepay the car and when we get there they said we need to pay $100 more to rent a car when in their website it only said if the driver is under 25 then you will need to pay extra. I don't know where to start!! Ok I was in building 4 room 411 - and there were roaches all over the place, poop on the corner or the drawers and dead roach bodies. You can't sleep in at this hotel because house keeping wakes u up extra early.... I was woken Up today at 7:30 by house keeping, I told them it was a hut early and she said "that's the time we start, make sure u put your "don't disturb" tag on the door" So I wasn't very happy about her waking me up and when I went to the phone to call the desk a roach was crawling on the phone rest... So I told them about the roaches and asked them to move me to another room, unfortunately they didn't have rooms on the first floor so I had to wait 2 hrs for a new room When I got to the new room in building 1 room 1108 I looked for roaches and everything looked good, however my daughter went to the restroom and the roiled wouldn't flush so we had to call the desk again, the maintenance guy came to fix it, but when I used the restroom the toilet didn't flush and water kept running... So I'm now calling the front desk to change my room This hotel is a mess !!!! Couple hours have passed, IVE HAD IT WITH THIS Hotel, tell me why someone just walked into my room ? I was laying down in bed when someone opened my door, apparently the lady in the from desk didn't make the switch on the system when they changed my room. Absolutely terrible!! Both our room and the other room in our party smelled like sewage when we got right as we checked in. We figured the smell would disappear as we stayed but it never did. Then even more disgusting we found a USED NEEDLE in one of our beds! The hotel staff did nothing about this. Arrived as a guest for a quinceañera and witnessed management clearly directing security to be mean to guests wanting to enter hall area early- started at 5:00pm, guests attempting to enter at 4:58. Came here about 10PM in April , the lady at the front desk was sweet and got me checked in really quickly. She even upgraded me for free. The lobby area looks really amazing. I was really impressed. Clean and fancy looking! So as I walking to the room, there was nothing sketchy or suspicious about the place EXCEPT loads of tourists! There are a lot of tour buses here so just be prepared to see bunch of people wandering around aimlessly. The room was large and clean. Outdated like you just traveled to the 90's but for the price it wasn't bad. At least the bed looked new. There was also a kitchen which is always a plus! Extremely disappointed visit. Didn't expect much anyways but was not expecting this "hotel" was this bad. DISCLAIMER we came with a tour group "ctour holiday" so we had no choice in picking which hotel to stay at. 1)The water pressure extremely low. Made it difficult for washing hair or even taking a shower. 2)hair dryer doesn't even work. Nothing in this hotel seems to work properly. 3)The bed was in worse shape than the one I have at home. It's sunk in in the middle, so bad you could tell right away when you walked in the room. The other bed didn't looked sunk in but was definitely rolling towards the middle of the bed. 4) The lady that worked in the restaurant had terrible attitude. When we checked at the front desk we were told that breakfast was served from 6-9AM. We got there at 6:30AM and it was "postponed" to 7AM. About 30 people that was already waiting went in to check and immediately the lady working in there yelled at them "go go go!" Complained to the front desk. Then it finally opened. Even when we went in after it was opened she was yelling at some people saying they couldn't sit on the far end of the restaurant. 5) immediately after the incident the next day the "breakfast" was completely closed with no warning ahead of time so everyone that was waiting down there didn't eat ahead of time. Honestly with all this bad service I'm assuming it's because they have a partnership with the tour companies and that's why they won't fix anything and hire staff with horrible attitudes because they'll still get their money's worth with guests from tour companies checking in. Hopefully in the future tour companies will stop doing business with them. If you're traveling and can CHOOSE where to stay DO NOT STAY HERE! WORST HOTEL EVER! Seriously yelp needs to give an option to put no stars! Stayed here for 2 weeks paid in advance. First night I checked in with MARILOU. She has such a sarcastic fake customer service voice. So we checked in. Few days later she called saying I owed $100 for deposit... I asked ok when do I come in and she giggled and said "like now" and hung up. So I paid cash. Then!!!!!! Mind you we are in a middle of a move sooo we have cars not trucks. We are taking things in and out of our cars to make things fit. So we left dog food and a bed along with a ton of boxes and bags ok.. housekeeping takes pictures and sends to Marilou. So when I went in to get other keys cause some how they locked ours... hmm.. she has this straight up Vaca face and puts her phone 3 inches from my face and says like if she's my mother, "and what is this" I told her she's disrespectful and not a way to treat customers. So I explained we're moving so yes the dog stuff will be in and out. Obviously I don't want my deposit to be kept so I wouldn't bring my dog with us. Mind you they never saw a dog in there or with me. So that was my "warning" she said. Ok mom. Then I go to pay for another few nights and she said ok but no dogs... to just shut her up I said ok I understand she got mad I didn't get on her level and she said you know what, I can't extend your stay. Please leave. So I asked for the manager... don comes out and was polite and helped me find another cheap hotel to stay at. Ok great. But the issue was his employee. She was giggling behind him and when he would look at what I was staring at she would change her stupid face. Like a child again. So I say ok thanks for helping don and I asked for my deposit... since it's check out right and nothing was destroyed and I paid everything. She said no I will not give back the $100. I was pissed. He said call back later and see if the "housekeeping manager" will release it. Uhm aren't you the manager here of the "corporate office" ??? So I left. Now 2 days later, I go to the city to see if they can help pay for a few nights. And they did!! So they reserved, paid for and everything. Sooo I show up guess who had a caca face again?? Checked this hotel out to possibly have my wedding reception here. I was looking for a venue that I could have the option of paying for a open bar or bring are own alcoholic beverages- that would not break the bank. They offer some very good packages with full buffet, tables, chairs, and table cover/chairs covers. Serve soda, water and juice during the buffet hours. But after the buffet hours only water and juice would be served and my guests would have to pay for a soda on there own. That was not a option for me- I can not have my guests paying for there own soda. So that was one of the killers. They do have an option were you can pre purchase tickets for beer only and pass them out to your guest. But not for wine or other beverages. They banquet hall is huge and can accommodate up to 500 guest. They have a outdoor seating area which tables and chairs- very nice. Tons of parking and very nice entrance/wait area.... Would of loved to have my wedding reception here but my family and friends are drinkers and we plan on having a wild night and this place just did not cut it. read more

The TV here is super small about 22 inches with poor quality. the remote was also malfunctioning pressing one number would make it click twice. the bathroom was decent minus the rusty curtain holder and shower head. its not terrible but for paying 100 a night there's definitely better stays. read more

Don't stay here!! This is the worst hotel I've stayed in! I booked this hotel thru hotel.com. I literally had to cancel right after checking in. Pictures as advertised are fake. The beds squeak each time you sit and get up, the nobs on sink are broken, the beds have yellow stains. It's just gross! Unfortunately since it's almost 3am I was forced to stay in this nasty place because I have my kids with me and they had to rest. But leaving first thing in the morning. I'm rating the food. I went there for a wedding recently and was not sure what to expect from this hotel since it's exterior location can be deceiving.... Anyhow, they served buffet style and got a little of everything just in case. I had steak, chicken, mashed potatos, caesar salad, broccoli and bread. Woah! Each and every single thing on the plate was above average! The quality of the ingredients, the freshness and the taste were a complete surprise. I was very impressed on how each item was really good. Typically, the salad is okay but the chicken is great or vice versa. Not here, each and every food item was fantastic. Had my wedding here last weekend. It was amazing! Christine was always very responsive and very accommodating. There are many upgrades that you can do if you don't like the basic chair covers and linens which I chose to do. The lighting that is in the hall is already amazing within itself, but add a couple more up lights and you are golden. The food is great, everyone loved it. Don't be fooled by the outside like every one says, it's a total gem. Not to mention, it's huge! My wedding was for 200 people and I had a photo booth inside and I'm sure we could have fit and extra 50 for sure. Drinks aren't too expensive if you at having your guests pay for them. I stayed here 2 weeks ago on the day before my wedding and then the night of my wedding. While I see that there are quite a few bad reviews, I actually didn't have a bad stay. I had a room that was on the bottom floor and faced the pool (which was beautiful at night changing colors). While I have to admit that the only reason I booked it was that it was only 9 minutes away from where I got married and happened to be where they filmed the pool scene in Vacation it was very nice. The room was clean and fairly large for a standard Queen room. My bridal party of 4, two hair/make up artists, mother of the bride and groom, grandmother of the bride, family friend, and flower girl all fit in the room quite comfortably. Overall, not a bad stay and I would stay again if I needed to. read more

The bed was hard, and also the pillows were nasty hard, the sheets were from the 1800s. The tv was pixelated. The room was overall rundown, outdated smelt like a funeral home. Super saggy bed!!! All my hotel reviews are based on price. Guesthouse, being in a cheapo price range, is A-OK....except the bed...which is kind of a big deal. Hotel, bed, sleep. When I first laid down in the bed I sunk in so deep I almost needed a snorkel to insure some kind of oxygen source. The thing sucked me in. I thought no way! Then I tried the other bed in the room....same thing. It was late, I was unpacked, and didn't feel like taking the time and trouble to request another room. So-big strike there. At check in, dude behind the counter was OK till he busted out the Spanish regarding my check-in with another employ (manager?). I heard them both speak English earlier, so I thought that was really rude. The TV in my room also sucked...check this out...20 channels were available, 12 had snowy pictures and or excessive lines across the screen. There were wildly wide volume levels as you surfed from station to station. A couple of channels had very fuzzy/distorted sound too. This is not expensive technology, get with it. The grounds are decent, not pristine, some various crap laying around that really should be, a little more trash in the parking lot than there shouldn't be, stains in concrete, leaking ice machine, etc. One gets the feeling they are doing the exact minimum to keep the place decent. The grassy court yard/pool area was expansive for a budget place, and a little more well kept up. I checked out at 11 am and had no trouble with housekeeping knocking at my door prior to that. I paid $49 for the room, had I paid more, I would not have been so happy. So for that price range the place was overall pretty decent for the LA area...but the beds...jeeze-get some new damn mattresses. read more

I just had an event for my Daughter who is turning 18. I looked and toured every facility within a 15 mile radius of Norwalk and I am telling you that if you want an amazing experience with a reasonable budget, this is the place to rent. Christine, the manager was amazing. Worked out a wonderful deal, helped us pick out the linen and colors as well as the choice of food. The food was included in the cost as well as soda and coffee, all gratuity and taxes. Extremely reasonable for what they offer. Other venues wanted you to pay for your own Caterer and tips were not included in the price. Plus they were very restrictive. Also, Hotel Saddleback was more than $2000 less expensive than the other quotes. The room hall looked amazing. The lighting was beautiful. The staff were amazing and helped us with any needs we had. Also, they give a wonderful discount on rooms for guests. They gave us more than enough time to set up. Don't fall for the negative reviews on here. We were there for 3 days and I already know of 3 guests who are going to have their future event there. The hotel rooms were large, very clean, and reasonably priced. And they were the location where they filmed the movie National Lampoon with Chevy Chase. read more

BED BUGS!!..We only stayed in this place for one night. The problems in checking in, room status, location and parking problems were nothing compared to what my wife and I experienced the next morning. My two hands and before hands and my wife's back and shoulder had broken out in HIVES. I am reporting this establishment to the competent authorities for health department check. If you have to stay in this horrible place cover yourself from head to toe, as the insects they grow inside their rooms, may get to you as they got to me and my wife. Ok so a few people have said many bad things about this place. I disagree with most of it. I needed a place to stay for nine days while my home was being remodeled. I'll start with the front desk. Very pleasant and welcoming. Answered all questions and fulfilled all special requests such as extra bedding and towells etc... Next, the grounds. The outside of this place is very well kept. Everything was clean and in order. Even the pool and spa were heated. Finally, the room. The room was as good as can be expected. The only reason that I didn't give this place a full 5 stars was because of the limited channels on the T.V. I ultimately went and bought a video game console to help pass the time.
