2026.10.17 Really depends on what room you get. Really old worn down rooms in the back buildings. We had no towels in the back and had to call. Electrical outlets were broken, loose or inconveniently placed away from bed if you're used to two people charging your phone and using it from bed on respective sides. Not sure why they even put us there. Stayed again at a different date, 1100 rooms seem newer, closer to front desk. Table lamps on each side of bed have outlets for two ppl to separately charge phones. No fridge no microwave. AC works, Tub shower works and has decent hot water but all fixtures are installed crooked. Toilet flushes minimally meaning slow and you have to hold the handle for a while. It almost looks like it won't clear. Some unhoused folk with no shoes and other garments missing were on the property today but were gone later. Priceline website double charged due to some website error. It'll take several business days to get the money back. The pool is decent, jacuzzi. No service. It's a little empty feeling but you make do. It's a huge property but you will not get resort vibes. I see large groups using this venue so it must be good for the price if you don't need amenities. Would I recommend it to friends? Only with a disclaimer and cautionary heads up notification. Otherwise, have I stayed here more than once recently on purpose? Yes. read more

Upon arrival of the room, there was a sudden stench so strong filling up the room. I can only guess this scent is simply wandering around as you and your staff dismiss it while cleaning the room with barley any effort. This brings me to my next concern, the room itself. While at first glance the room is tidy and clean. But through inspection of the room, we noticed multiple bugs in the room. There was a corner within the bathroom with about three dead bugs laying in the ground. In the bedroom, there was a bug in the left corner of the room. What makes matters even worse is that there was a bug in the sheets of the bed, one with long limbs to which I can guess was a spider. This is incredibly scary to imagine that perhaps someone less than lucky as us did not inspect the bed, and may have been sleeping amongst a bug, and who knows how much more. This long-legged friend was not alone either, as in the sink we found another spider creating a web. Like any sane-minded person, we went to go refund our hotel. As soon as we arrived back in front we noticed a woman already complaining to one of the employees. I can only guess that she was met with the same condition of a room, or something in similar vain, because she had claimed that the room smelt like urine. I ask that you change what procedures you do to clean each room. It is incredibly disgusting that a room was left like that. Don't be a lazy manager, and do not teach your employees that same behavior. I have made several attempts to get in contact with the manager for a refund and has been told that he is on vacation. The reservation was made through Expedia and was only offered $75 credit since they aren't able to get in contact with them either. Mind you, the reservation was booked for 3 nights! read more

I was very excited to stay here knowing one of my favorite movies was filmed here"National Lampoons Vacation" but was very let down the first room we had had no TV remote so I was not able to watch TV in there, switched to the second room and that room was worse exposed flooring very unsafe for bare feet tv had horrible resolution, and the A/C was super loud unable to get a goods note rest and barley working, on my third switch room was on a third floor with no working elevator this room had non working outlets and non working lamps and full cable was not functioning on tv only 5 channels available luckily I have a iPad and iPhone. And before I checked out a housekeeper was very rude to me before my checkout time trying to pressure us to vacate the room way before check out. All and all would not recommend this hotel it's not in a safe area for kids or single older adults and security is much needed at note a lot of sketchy people lurking around dark parts of the hotel. It looked great in 1982 when the movie was filmed there but has lost its character and charm. Save your time and money and look elsewhere this is a honest genuine review. read more

The towels are super thin and cheap. The little hairs come off onto you when you use them. The soap they provide are so thin they break after one use. The beds don't have fitted sheets. They have regular sheets in the bottom of the bed that move everywhere when you move. The blankets are super thin. They are just pieces of material. They are not made with blanket material. Overall, this place sucks. They charged us $150 for nothing. read more

I saw the reviews after I booked it...I was very skeptical after I read everything people said about the hotel so I asked the receptionist (who was very kind) to show me the room before I check in and told her my concerns.... She did let me go inspect the room, the room was clean, no roaches, beds were OK not hard rock like other reviews said...the place it's not Hilton but hey for the price is a good place to rest, the nights were quite, no screaming, no music, really quite, maybe some crickets sound which I actually find it relaxing... I didn't get into the pool, there was hot water, no fridge in the room but I really didn't care, I was not about to eat there anyway, so I just use the hotel to sleep and nothing more...if you need it only for that it works fine. I came with no expectations and they even have some history in the hotel... it was good, check the rooms before get it. Don't let the reviews fool you Check the rooms read more

This place is a complete dump. Rooms are terrible. Customer Service is terrible. I would rather sleep outside on a piece of cardboard then stay in this trash of a place. Man, oh man!! I came into town and booked super last minute over the phone on a whim. At $100 a night ($97.90 to be exact), you'd think they would offer a pleasant & clean stay. I was brutally mistaken. Maybe my expectations have raised a little since moving to Las Vegas where fancy resorts on the strip offer great weekday deals. I honestly felt ripped off at Saddleback especially when awesome Vegas hotels charge $35 + outrageous resort fees making the total $80 a night. My initial room had roaches, lousy accomodations, and a TV with no remote & lack of cable connection (see vid). Eventually, with some unnecessary push back, slight adversity & my unwavering tenacity, I was switched to a better room. Not sure how they decide on who gets the nasty rooms and who gets the "better ones" but at this point I don't care. I'd rather stay at Motel 6.. Of all the times that... I have been to the Los Angeles Ca area on vacation this was my very 1st time ever that I have stayed at this hotel which was The GuestHouse International Hotel of Norwalk Ca!!! And the time that I have stayed at GuestHouse International Hotel which was back on July 11, 2017 which was on a Tuesday!!! And before then I have never heard of this hotel before until when I went on yelp just to read the past and the most recent yelp reviews of the GuestHouse International Hotel!!! And also back then I didn't even know that the GuestHouse International Hotel was used in the movie National Lampoons Vacation which was the crazy Chevy Chase movie!!! This GuestHouse International Hotel wasn't to bad on my 1st of my 3 days stay the rooms were very comfortable for me... Another thing was I was happy that the toilet and the shower bath tub were working and had no problems!!! And also what I really like most about the GuestHouse International Hotel which was the eating breakfast in the morning which was paid for on my 4 days tour of Southern California!!! Now that I got a chance to stay at this GuestHouse International Hotel just like the time when Chevy Chase was here and had his National Lampoons Vacation filmed here which was back in the year of 1982!!! And who knows if I would be able to go back and have another chance to stay at The GuestHouse International Hotel and for me this GuestHouse International Hotel wasn't that bad at all I really like this GuestHouse International Hotel!!! read more

Due to being displaced we stood there for 10 months. Being good longtime guests, not causing any problems and keeping an eye on our surroundings, we were better than their security. Only one good security guard Mike who I felt confident in. The others HORRIBLE, walking in on guests rooms, not being able to control unruly guests. Each room we stayed in had HUGE GIGANTIC PREHISTORIC ROACHES. I had to buy Raid and spray my room perimeter my self inside and out. Except one room in building 4. Elevator permits out of date and pretty scary. Lots of paranormal activity in each building. One room in building 5 set off an EMF reader on our cell phone. Gypsy's galore intimidsting guests and women. Told manager many times and nothing was done about it. Rooms are bugged. People breaking into our personal wifi and computers and phones. Also TV's. Faulty electricity sometimes 2 days without. Never compensates for all the crap we went through Manager money hungry and can careless about loyal guests. Staff is two faced, pretend to be your friend but quick to throw you under the bus. No compassion for hard working guests, but low life's get the royal treatment. Lots of extra circular activity that the manager allows at night. Tour groups are a constant and they get "good rooms*All long time residents are placed on the back buildings. read more

Premise: Wedding event Remember you pay for what you get. The minute we got to our room there were bed bugs and roaches and to top it off the restroom light did not work. This was a close family members wedding and many of the folks who booked rooms experienced the same. If you are in search of a ball room, the manager woman is completely aloof, rude and condescending. For the over 4k we paid for the venue we were scolded and asked to wait outside of the already set up venue until "she" decided we were allowed to come inside. They also employed a very sketchy looking security guard that made a lot of our guest feel uncomfortable. If you want to make this your ball room I'd suggest staying away. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Norwalk. It has a lot of old time charm and the pool and jacuzzi are nice. My only complaint would be that the televisions in the room need to be upgraded. First I must agree with other reviews. Do not stay at this hotel. It's disgusting. The hotel has cockroaches, smells like mildew and musk. The beds are like sleeping on a stack of cardboards. TV has crappy channels if you can get a channel. The rooms were dirty, hair was in the bathroom floor, the tub was peeling when I would shower and leaking. The AC is a joke, doesn't keep the room cool. I only spent one night at the hotel, because it was so bad I didn't want to bring home roaches. Do not ever stay at this hotel. Run away!!! My BF booked a hotel through Hotwire( also please don't ever use them) and all access to the hotel was closed. All the exits on the freeway was closed, all major roads leading up to the hotel was closed. We contacted Hotwire and let them know it was inaccessible and of course they are in India and was unhelpful. Madelyn at the front desk lied and said that they was no construction anywhere near the hotel. Finally we had to just call the bank and put a claim in as fraud and booked a room at the Sheraton instead. This place is as ghetto as they come and Hotwire states it's a 3 star hotel! Don't trust this hotel, or the people who work here. The hotel looks like a dirtier version of a motel 6. read more

First off, never been bagged checked at a wedding! Super un-classy!!! Visited for my cousins wedding. Parking - arrived their at 1630 and greeted by a kid trying to sell me a fake watch. Waited at the parking lot for a bit because the party started at 1700. Walked in the lobby about 1705 and had to wait another 10 minutes because the staff wasn't ready setting up. Wasn't my wedding so I wasn't worried. Venue I wouldn't recommend it. Two ball rooms and night club outside at a hotel in Norwalk. Hints the security presents. The bag search was a big turn off but again it's not my wedding. Worst part was when I was asked for a high chair due to me seeing three already set up at the ball room, wait staff hastily answered no more! After searching for ten minutes they found one. Bar - open bar but why was bar tender charging only after 10 minutes of the bar opening? That was quickly corrected but no refund was given. Again, the uniformed security guard present in the bar and lobby is an underlining reason why I wouldn't recommend this venue. I do understand the safety requirements and need. I would reissue the security staff a blazer and tie uniform then the current rent a cop uniform. Train the wait staff in costumer service and QA the food! read more

Zero stars. The workers are so rude and don't care. I waited 40 mins to have somebody change out the battery in the smoke detector. I called the front desk again and I was told they would call me right back with an ETA. Ten minutes later still no call so I went to the front desk and the two ladies there didn't seem to care, I explained that I need to go to sleep because I had to work soon and they said well we don't have any batteries so I don't know what to tell you. They could have handled the situation much better or offered a solution. There's also prostitution going on a few doors down. Don't stay here unless you want rude workers and semi clean room. Also no breakfast, no bbq area and no restaurant or bar as advertised. They don't even clean your rooms here. I do NOT recommend this hotel at all. The room i got was dirty and smelled like cigarettes. The bathroom had roaches and the shower still had someone's left over hair in it. I requested for more towels they never brought it and we had a random security officer ask us if we paid for the room. Don't trust the Google reviews because it is definitely a lie. Place is a dirty hole in the wall roach infested motel. First room they put me in the shower wouldn't drain... second room was so nasty I slept on top of the covers. Then I called after my week long trip (not all at this location thank god) and the manager says I should have brought up my issues sooner... when I found the roaches at 2am do you think I really want to get out into another dirty room. I was so excited to come back to this place, being a huge Vacation movie fan! We stumbled on this place in October for the Halloween extravaganza time from Arizona. Not really a upscale establishment but it had history that we enjoyed. The place looks a bit dated. It's not a great surrounding area, some Sketchy characters walking around, the tiny TV And We think people are living here. All that aside, our room was remodeled and we were stoked for HHN. So when we had a last minute trip last week, we thought let's go back! The place at night seems a bit scary, my kids weren't use to this kind of motel situation. We had an unusual check in, the woman who works the desk was out in front outside in a car, she came in the lobby when we pulled up and a security guard was hanging out. Then we got to our room and there was Roaches in the bathroom area and the room was old and not at all the cute room, I remembered from last time. Then after driving 6 hours and checking in late, I noticed we only had one towel for the 4 of us to share. Security did bring more but already wasn't impressed. The next day we went to Disneyland ALL DAY roughly 16 hours later. Got back to the room and our room was not cleaned and again no new towels! UGH! Again. Never have I experienced a stay at a motel/hotel where they didn't clean our room. WTH? My husband emailed the office because no one answered the front desk phone. Still haven't received a response, one week later. The next night another 16 hour day at Disneyland and I'm exhausted can't wait to collapse and our key doesn't work!‍Go to the front desk, where again the lady is out in her car and tells us to stay outside and not go into the lobby and wait for a new key. I swear I can't make this up. Now I know why no one answers the phone, she's out in her car out front of the lobby. On the plus side, the Air-conditioning was far superior than any other place I've ever stayed. And coming from Arizona that's important! After this experience we won't be returning. The roaches, the no towels, no cleaning the room and the crazy train that scares me every morning blowing it's horn. We gave it ago but it's not a place I'd recommend. read more

First time here. The hotel itself is older in decent shape for its age staff is very friendly and accommodating. Was given a room in the 4th building. Going into the room it smelled moldy but wasn't bad it was tolerable seeing as the hotel is older. Problem was with shower that wouldn't drain. I called the front desk and they promptly moved me to a room near the pool. No moldy smell and a working drain problems fixed. If you're just looking for a quick place to crash, don't bother with Guesthouse. If you want a cool place to relax with your friends in transit to your next destination, I think you'll like it. This place was awkward to get to, and didn't look like much from the outside. Once I was in, I got pretty excited seeing how cool the lobby was. It was expansive, well decorated, and contained a gift shop and bar. The gift shop was very disorganized. All the signs were in Korean, and they seemed to sell nothing else besides watches, and boxes of ginseng by the pound ($100+). I like ginseng as much as the next guy, but WTF can you do with that quantity? Nothing of interest there, so I went to the bar. Great selection, and greater prices considering how loaded our charming bartender poured our drinks. Never before has my jager bomb had more jager than red bull. x_x Other cool aspects include the banquet room that later hosted a loud wedding party, and the large pool/hot tub with lots of space to chill out at surrounding tables. In addition to that, Guesthouse INTERNATIONAL lives up to its name. I felt like we were the only Americans there! So as much as I enjoyed my stay, I have some problems with this place: -Nothing cool is nearby. I didn't see any worthwhile place to eat for miles, and the only delivery was Dominos. -Breakfast costs $7, unless you get a ticket (no clue how much these cost), and it's not really worth it. Just a buffet of sausage, potatoes, eggs, and toast. Unless you're getting it on the house, it's just better to jet. -The bed was VERY firm, harder than any bed I've ever slept in in a hotel. I guess being sloshed made that easier, though. -Service was questionable. We had a pretty bad towel shortage, and room service showed up at around 7AM, while we're all getting up. That's pushing it! We told them to come back later, and they never did. I'd still come here again, though. I thoroughly enjoy the space and the people watching. read more

The front desk people and house keeping people are good helpers and Kind. Thank you Hotel saddleback.

Came here for a wedding reception. The room was ok and it was nice. The food was buffet style it was ok the meat was a bit chewy and the chicken a little dry and the fruits were eh. The one thing was the security guard checked everyone pursues and guys had to empty all their pockets that was unusual and time consuming for a wedding reception. Okay so I have been reading quite a few of bad reviews for this place and it makes me feel bad. I think some people have too high of expectation and or just love to give bad reviews. I like to live in the positive and have had a decent experience here so far. At first glance the surrounding area is an eye sore and it's pretty bad to the point my husband was scared to see what this hotel, that we found on Expedia, looked like. To our pleasant surprise it was pretty nice. The lobby was large and inviting and I immediately noticed the BAR hahaha, such a lush I know! The gentleman at the front desk was nice and helped me immediately. I was in and out in less then 5 minutes. We were lucky and placed in the very first building on the first floor with a view of the courtyard and pool. However, I didn't dig the heavy footed person/people above us. Actually I think that would be my only complaint. This place seems to be a popular place to stay, especially for tourist. There were tour busses everywhere. They have a few pools and they were crazy busy last night but close at 9pm so that made me happy since we were pretty tired and didn't really want to hear all that all night long. Although once we were in the room turned the tv on and had the AC going it ended up muffling the noises outside. Besides the heavy footer above us I didn't hear anyone from either room beside us so I'm not sure if people just like to listen for people so they can complain or if we just got lucky. With all this being said....I would stay here again. I would also recommend it to my friends and family. Hope this review helps. read more
