Excellent location near San Marco Basilica, Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, lots of restaurants, shops, and water buses. When I arrived at the hotel, I was too chicken to climb up the stairs to the hotel reception, because there were two sick looking pigeons sitting inside on the steps.
Anyway, when I finally got past and arrived at the front desk, it was empty for about 5 min. It turns out the one receptionist shows you to your room and carries your luggage up the flights of stairs. There is no elevator. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very knowledgable about the area.
The room is clean and looks pretty new. There is a large television and the bed is comfortable. The bottled water and tea are all free, and they have a mini fridge. There's also a safe for your valuables. What I like about the bathroom is that the shower is a decent size. Some of the other places I've stayed at have a TINY shower, where I probably wouldn't fit through the shower door if I was any fatter. There's also a heater in the bathroom to keep you toasty while you're on the toilet.
I think Miss X was scammed, because this hotel sounds nothing similar to her review. The receptionist did mention there were a number of hotels with a similar name. read more
