I don't know if people are more casual in Naples, but there were no buogiornos/buonaseras to be had here unless you initiated yourself. That said, staff were efficient. A few were more polite than others, but most just don't greet you, they just look at you. Some staff members are also better at English than others.
If you have mobility issues or heavy luggage, do note there are no elevators on the premises. We had no issue since we stayed on the first floor, but it did give us a room that looked right onto the street and parking, so late night got noisy and a little smokey when people chatted and smoked right outside our window.
Major con was that although towels were changed every day, they smelled heavily of smoke. Either they're stored in a smoking area or housekeeper was a heavy smoker. As a person with lung issues, this was a source of stress for me. Another hitch was that the flush tank above our room started leaking during our stay. At first it started as a trickle, and I thought it was just bathroom condensation, but it gradually increased until we realized it was a leak. Staff took a look right away, told us not to use the facilities in the meantime, but no one told us when or if we could resume using the bathroom. When I inquired at front desk when we returned in the evening, they said they'd check on the status but never got back to us. So service is so-so even though overall the stay was comfortable.
Breakfast is good, but just stick to the Italian items (they even have mini sfogliatella). They had what looked like scrambled eggs which clearly no one ever ate. I took a chance on them, and they were oddly bitter. They have a tea/coffee/juice station, but if you want something besides an americano, you can request it from the ladies at the counter. They'll make you a cappuccino or whatever at your request. read more
