Good hotel with charming period atmosphere and decor. Worth booking a superior room if staying a few nights - ours was very spacious and has luxurious 13+ ft high ceilings with elaborate moldings, great view of the Votive church next door and a small leafy park in front. Good aircon and wifi. Convenient location, just on the edge of the ring, within a mile to many popular areas - museums, Stephenplatz etc. Quite walkable or just take the tram. Getting to the hotel is easy from the train station - tram "D" to Schottentor and you'll see the hotel from the station. Good breakfast with lots of nice outdoor seating - the first hotel breakfast where they have small creamy cakes and block of fresh honey.
A few areas of improvement: beds are a bit too soft, the minibar is unnecessary - makes the fridge difficult to use and just causes complications on checking out when you have to make sure you don't get charged for drinks you didn't touch. read more
