We loved our stay at the hotel Rapallo. The room was spacious and clean. It also had air conditioning that we could control which was a huge upgrade from our hotels in Rome and Cinque Terre! Three differentiators about the hotel that we loved: the staff, the walking tour of the city. and the breakfast. The staff were all extremely attentive, kind, and helpful. Brian, Mauritzio, and Michela were especially fantastic. Michela was also our guide on the walking tour. The walking tour was made available to us through the hotel and was led by Michela who was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We really enjoyed learning more about the history of the city! Lastly, the breakfasts each morning were really good and super convenient. The buffet was great and the coffee to order was just what we needed. We highly recommend Rapallo and will return next time we are in Florence. read more

Three US senior sisters just returned from a trip to Italy and this hotel, Rapallo, was our favorite by far. From the ultra modern rooms to the helpful staff to the great breakfast and afternoon snacks, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The breakfast room features a small tended bar that serves wine in the afternoon and various coffee/espresso drinks as well. The rooms are modern and clean and the furniture looks new. There is a designer look to the entire hotel right down to the comfortable lobby. The Rapallo was just a comfort and delight for us after a hard day of walking and eating all over Florence. Although our room was a bit of a disappointment (very strange layout and lacking charm) perhaps because we needed separate beds, the private balcony, incredible staff and lovely amenities (including a wonderful breakfast assortment and high tea) more than made up for it. The location is just about perfect as well. We would def return to the Hotel Rapallo. read more

We stayed here for 5 nights. Location is close to the train station and about a 15 min walk to the Duomo. Good location and bus stop close by. Breakfast was very good and had a selection of hot and cold foods as well as fruits and pastries. Our room was compact but clean and looked new. When we first got their our fridge wasn't working but they replaced it within a few hours. You also have to call reception to get the air conditioning turned on, but it only went as low as 19 C. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. One morning one of their guest couldn't eat gluten and the manager went out especially to buy her a loaf of gluten free bread. Who does that these days? It was very impressive. Another couple came down for breakfast and the manager asked them how the restaurant was that he recommended, then suggested other places to eat for that night. When we checked out the manager shook my hand. Really nice hotel. read more

Loved this place. We chose Hotel Rapallo for our three night stay in Florence and are so glad we did. The pricing was very affordable and the room was very nice. It had a big terrace where we could sit outside and relax although we didn't use it much because it was cold and sometimes loud with street noise. The room was very clean and not as small as other rooms we stayed at in Europe. The front desk staff and breakfast room staff was very friendly and always helpful. The hotel is walking distance from everywhere we went within the city, however the wall from the train station to the hotel was a bit tough. It is maybe less than a ten minute walk but the sidewalks are narrow and uneven and there are lots of pedestrians so it was hard to drag the luggage. On our way back to the train station we decided to take a cab and it was quick and cheap since it's very nearby. We were very happy with our stay here and would recommend it. Oh if you need to iron your clothing you can't do so in the room - the staff will set up an iron and ironing board in a little room downstairs and you can iron there...this seemed to be the norm in all the hotels we stayed at while visiting Italy and France. read more

I really enjoyed my stay at hotel Rapallo. It was clean, decor was nice and had a queen Ann modern twist. Their breakfast buffet was amazing with their incredible espresso machine! I never liked machine coffee drinks, but this machine makes delicious Cappucinos and lattes with decent crema. Every morning my fiancé and I would look forward to it. They also have tea time in the afternoon. The rooms were perfectly spacious for a European accommodation, the bathrooms appear new and updated. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Firenze. It's location is near universities and very close to the San Lorenzo market and Central market for some shopping. Oh and btw, they have a lift . Don't forget to sign their guestbook! Their staff are so nice and accommodating, they helped us make dinner reservations every night we stayed. When we arrived at Hotel Rapallo we found that the reviews under described the hotel's customer service. The service is amazing and impeccable. Let's start with the hotel, gorgeous inside the lobby and in the rooms. The staff is amazing and ran by a husband and wife, plus the staff. All were very customer service oriented. Last but not least, Larry, the service representative for the breakfast area was just superb. Larry went above and beyond taking care of us and everyone else. Pretty straight forward to find from the train station, only a 10 minute walk. Beautifully decorated. On a busy road but sound proofed windows. Great location to Duomo and other main attractions. Wonderful breakfast buffet - inc caviar and cava! Also, lovely free buffet from 3pm - 8pm with sandwiches, crisps, nuts, a few other savouries and cakes. A really nice touch. Most beautiful perfect hotel in Florence! A lovely young couple welcomed us with Champagne for my birthday, a sweet gesture. Nice size room, comfy bed, we appreciate the free water in ourvrefrig, the included breakfast had everything you could want- and yummy. The topper was the afternoon snacks from 3-8 PM, really helped our day. Found some good restaurants nearby, everything is walkable. Lovely! read more

*stayed 4 nights* meh. a 3 star hotel deservingly earns a 3 star rating. my wife refers to this place "Hotel Appalling." LOL it's a joke. it's not that the hotel was bad, it just wasn't great. it does everything adequately. the rooms were modern, pretty spacious for italy standards and for even western standards, and clean. the bathroom was nice and new, big and again, clean. but the whole place is just sterile and lacked character. from the decor, the paint scheme, the reception desk personnel, etc. again, the employees were nice and service was good but very different from the warmth and friendliness we experienced at the other 3 hotels we stayed at while in italy. (2 hotels in venice, Park Annia and Hotel Grande Canal, and one in rome, IQ Hotel.) probably the worst part of the room was the lack of natural light. the one window that was sound proofed, was also small and covered up. not much of a view but the building across the street, even though we had a 4th floor room. but coming from the open, bright, and gorgeous views of the grand canal in venice, both from our room and from our private terrace, our hotel rapallo room felt very enclosed, congested and...sterile. also, i got bit 4 times and my wife once on the face, by the numerous, annoying mosquitoes buzzing around in our room! my wife didn't get any sleep one night bc the little buggers were buzzing around her face all night long. this meant we had to swat them come waking hours and when we'd get back after a day out, there would be another one that got in (probably when the door was open during maid service.) another gripe i had w/ the hotel is that on their website, it says under "services" that there are "gyms affiliated" w/ the hotel. for me, that was a big selling point as many of the hotels in italy (minus the big 5 star joints) do not have fitness centers. so, when we checked in, i asked where the nearest gym was and if it would be free. when i asked how much, the hotel staff said he did not know and that i would have to check w/ the gym. i mean, if you're "affiliated" w/ the gym, shouldn't you know? after about a 15 min walk, we found the gym. nope, not free. in fact be ready to shell out 30 euro/person to use the nearest gym "affiliated" w/ hotel rapallo, per day. i mean, why even advertise this then? again, no hate for the hotel. it was OK. but we'll probably stick to our usual 4 star rated establishments from now on. read more

We stayed several nights at the Rapallo. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival to the hotel following a hectic morning travel from Rome. The hotel staff were very helpful and quickly developed some last minute tour plans for us after our own plans fell through. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was well prepared, tasty and presented in the atmosphere of a fine restaurant and attentive staff. The staff were some of the most pleasant and helpful people I have experienced and were enjoyed immensely. We will stay with them again without question during our next visit to Florence and give them our highest recommendation. read more

Very pleasant bedroom, with separate room containing wardrobe and desk allowing me to dress and make coffee (hot water pot) while my husband slept. Clean bathroom, decent lighting. Excellent breakfast with many choices, pastries and coffees better than usual. Staff resolved a dry cleaning crisis efficiently and competently; much appreciated. Location convenient and we walked everywhere, including to and from the train station. Quiet despite being on a busy street. We'd stay here again. read more
