The room was lovely/quaint with a million dollar view. Breathtaking panoramic snow capped Mountain View's of Switzerland. A few blocks ride (bus-10 mins) to the town to enjoy restaurants, shopping and Lake Lucerne. I would recommend bringing bath/shower products. There's shampoo/conditioner in one and body soap provided. However, if you like bar soaps, beauty bars and conditioner ... make sure to pack some. And don't forget moisturizer. The breakfast wasn't worth $28 (traditional breakfast spread) but it is Switzerland where I find dining a bit more pricey.

There were so many amenities available - like their sauna, gym, and infinity pool. We could have just stayed at the hotel for the entire week without leaving! They even had an in-house movie theatre. We were welcomed with champagne and flowers in our room upon our arrival. The food was also excellent. They have several restaurants but open 4 for the season. My favorite one was their French restaurant. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was outstanding. My husband and I would love to come back here again the next time we are in Europe.

The staff are amazing, the rooms are gorgeous, the views are spectacular, the service is top-notch, and the dining is delicious. I got a corner room on the top floor with two balconies and a window that overlooked further up the mountain. I had the delight on seeing some cows out there on my first morning. I utilized the pool everyday, got a massage at the spa on my second day, and ate at the restaurant onsite everyday for breakfast and dinner. I recommend all of it! It can get chilly out on the terrace, even in summer, so they have thick fur coats at your disposal for when you want to sit outside. There is a smoking/cigar room inside and ability to smoke outside on the terrace. The staff will also bring anything to you anywhere onsite if you just call and ask. They have elevated plastic ware available for poolside dining. Overall, highly recommend!!

The rooms were well appointed but I wish they had been a little more cozy and a little less corporate. At breakfast the first morning, my friend and I both ordered the overnight oats. When the dish came we both assumed it was an amuse bouche because the portion size was hilariously small. Like shot glass size. I still giggle when I think about it. It turns out that all the breakfast portions are small because you can order an unlimited amount of dishes and they don't like food waste. While I can certainly appreciate that, it would have been nice if our server had explained that when we placed our order. We were better prepared the next morning. The food overall in Switzerland was just not my favorite. It was good but under seasoned for my taste. My favorite dishes at dinner were probably the carrot coconut soup and the summer salad. The large pool at Villa Honegg is certainly the star of the show. It's heated and open until 11pm and we spent as much time there as we could. The one downside about this hotel is that it is a 20-30 minute drive into down for any activities or reservations at other hotels. It is worth it for the view but know that you need to make plans well in advance for offsite activities.

No robes or slippers available. Ambient noise from hall and adjacent rooms. Our window was locked shut, but looked into ventilation shaft anyway. Lobby was cramped, exacerbated by Viking cruise hospitality desk. Staff were friendly enough to, and acted surprised we provided negative reviews at check out. I chose not to complain during our 2 night visit since prior similar reviews stated staff were really of no use in resolving issues. Sorry for such a negative review, but for the price I paid , I feel entitled to complain.

The hotel itself is beautiful-perched high atop of bluff looking over Lucerne, the views and vibe (especially at the American Bar adjacent to the lobby) are top notch. As to be expected, room rates matched the exclusive feel of the property. Unfortunately, the service and the upkeep within the room doesn't match the price point. Our check-in experience was slow and while not rude, wasn't warm and welcoming. There also wasn't an offer to porter our bags to the room which I found odd. The room while decorated well definitely felt dated and weathered. Caulking in the shower area was stained. Wardrobe closet dinged up. Again, was it the end of the world? No. But given the price point, I expected more.

From the moment we pulled up to the hotel, the valet was warm and inviting- helping us with our luggage, asking our names, and making himself at our disposal for whatever we needed. As we walked into the hotel up to the front desk, before I even uttered a hello, I was already being greeted by name!! The check in procedure by Vanessa was wonderful. From the welcome note on the table with fruit, to the welcome on the TV, everything was perfect! The room was exceptionally clean and tidy and the views, well just look at the pictures and see for yourselves. As to the location, I thought it was perfect. You're only about a 5-10 min walk from the Old Town, yet far enough from the hordes of tourists that roam the streets with their selfie sticks. The tree lined promenade behind the hotel was our favorite to walk down. You had the perfect view of the lake, the Alps, and the city. This was definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in in terms of service.
