Wellness area with indoor swimming-pool, jacuzzi indoor and outdoor, ski room, which is even pleasant and a restaurant which serves great food - especially considering that hotel restaurants do not have the best reputation. Best hotel in Zermatt with everything you could dream of and without the "schiki miki" touch and behavior you often find in Zermatt. Everything from our rooms to the spa, upstairs bar, ski room, morning taxi service, front desk staff and breakfast was fantastic! Unfortunately, our 7 included dinners were horrendous! On a positive note...Dennis, our bartender, was an absolute rockstar! He took amazing care of our entire group and was a friendly, attentive, sociable, and an all-around amazing person! Thank you! You really made our stay! Dinner was consistently one of the worst dining experiences I have ever experienced. The salad bar was decent and the dining room was cute, but our waitress (Natalia?) was a useless idiot. The unpalatable meals took a ridiculous amount of time each night despite being a fixed menu. Our waitress could barely manage to clear plates, never mind serve us or take drink orders. Over half of our 45 person group ended up eating elsewhere due to the awful service and food quality. Dish after dish was sent back uneaten every night, but nothing was done to rectify the situation. I spoke with the front desk about alternative food choices and was at least able to set up a delicious fondue dinner for 10 of us for a 15 CHF upgrade per person one night. But every other meal was a major disappointment! We paid a lot of money for an upset stomach, awful service and hours of wasted time. I at least expected some sort of compensation from management after so many people complained and skipped dinners, but nothing was done. I'm extremely disappointed in the overall experience. Food is such a huge part of travel, and this hotel missed the mark. Eat literally anywhere else! Zermatt is full of fantastic eateries.

They have a decent amount of common area space both indoor and out (the outdoor patio being right off of our patio, so having the same fab Matterhorn view). Although we didn't utilize the spa area it did seem cool, with an indoor/outdoor pool. The breakfast buffet was good, with a variety of hot and cold options. We went down right as it opened each morning and had it to ourselves entirely. Hotel service, while a tad cold, was full and thorough. The hotel location was good (unless you desire to be in the thick of things). At the end of town, very quiet, yet an easy walk to restaurants/shopping. Especially great access to some trails too, which was great for us.

I was worried a deep tissue would be too painful but that was premature. I was expecting and hoping for heavier work but I guess I've been spoiled by my regular masseuse back home. The deep tissue here ends up more like a Swedish massage, with more flowing strokes than deep pressure work. Still, I think the end result was still effective as I did feel better afterwards, so thanks Marcela. She finished with a cooling cream for my legs to treat soreness from snowboarding as well as a heating cream for chronic tightness in my traps. Location is accessible, like everything else in town. It's especially close to the train station. Facilities are modern, clean and comfortable, exactly what you would expect from a spa. They offered the use of the saunas and pools for a small additional charge but I passed. Otherwise it's free for hotel guests. I did relax with a nice cup of tea though and showered before I left. They specialize in CBD treatments, if you're interested. A nice bit of pampering in the middle of a long snowboarding trip. It comes at a more palatable price if you ask for last minute bookings.

We were picked up at the train station by the little electric buses that are all over Zermatt and brought to the hotel. From the street you see all the carved wood that is all over the hotel. It's beautiful and pictures don't do it justice. Monica was at the front desk with welcome drinks. It was a type of sparkling cider. She gave us our keys and sat down with us and showed us a map of the area and places to check out. She wrote it all down for us and offered to make reservations for us. We made it to our room and it was covered with the same carved wood. We opened the balcony doors and was surprised with an epic view of the Matterhorn. Yay! Breakfast came with our room so the next day we went downstairs and enjoyed a buffet style breakfast with a few items you can order from the menu. The waitress was just the sweetest thing. I'm sorry I can't recall her name but she was just so kind. They do two services in the room. The first is the normal cleaning every hotel offers and the second one is the turn down service complete with chocolate. :) Every day from 3-6 (I think) they offer snacks and a "drink of the day" which was always yummy. We met several staff members and all of them were nice and helpful and happy to answer all of our silly tourist questions. I can't recommend this place enough. Location was great also. We work in tourism and I myself travel often visiting different hotels and areas across the globe. We were very excited about our stay here and ready to relax. Upon arrival, we had booked two rooms for our group of five. We have stayed in many reputable hotels already on this three week trip through Europe and I always call the booking company to make sure there are no issues with us having three people in a room together. They had said everything would be alright. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a look of disgust from the young lady behind the counter as if we didn't belong there. She was extremely upset we had five people and not two per room. I explained the situation and she said it was against policy to have additional people without a charge. In the end, we agreed to pay the charge. However, the way the entire situation was handled was extremely unprofessional and has left a foul taste in my mouth. She didn't once apologize that we had been giving misinformation or explain any of the issues stated above in a kind way. She was abrupt, rude, and extremely judgemental. Maybe because of our age which is ridiculous. I run a production company as a profession and if I ever caught an employee of mine treating people the way we were treated I would be utterly ashamed. We have also called the front desk to ask a few questions and have been brushed off, no professionalism, no accommodation, no hospitality. An establishment of this caliber shouldn't brush off paying guests. Hopefully, this experience improves, but we are off to a horrible start.

It's a bit bigger than I thought it would be, which is a total plus! My only complaint is that there isn't too much room for large suitcases. Other than that, I love it. Bed firmness is perfect. The jacuzzi is a nice size and has a beautiful view is the snow covered rooftops. Breathtaking! The location to me is ideal! The bartender gave us a Welcome drink (you can choose from prosecco, beer, or wine), and we got a cocktail afterwards as well. Mine was the 22 Summit cocktail which was a cucumber refresher and it was one of the best cocktails that I had the entire time I was in Zermatt.
