I have stayed at the Hotel Noemi 4 times over the last 30 years and the reason is the brilliant location right off St. Mark's Square. Facing north in the square you go thru the center exit, walk about a 100 feet and you're there. There are also places to eat or grab a sandwich along the way, not to mention the super yummy Venchi gelato and chocolate shop. Trust me, this is the best gelato I have found in Venice.
The hotel starts on the second floor (first floor for Europeans). The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is small as are the rooms but that is Venice. All rooms are decorated in a traditional Venetian style, provide comfortable beds and are very clean. Bathroom showers are a bit small for larger people. There is a lot of room to room noise but once everyone settles down, it is dead quiet. Toiletries and hair dryers are provided and if you get a deluxe room, there is also a bottle of champagne.
As you go up to your room take note of the fabulous Murano glass embellished hand rail. I can't decide if it's the most beautiful or the most tacky thing I've ever seen. Still, I love it. :-)
All in all, it's hard to find a better value for the money with such a good location in Venice. read more
