What a wonderful and unexpected find during a stopover in Bonn, Germany. The Hilton Bonn was the…read moreperfect place for our one-night stay in the town. The four story building features an indoor pool, gym, saunas, a restaurant, many conference rooms, and a bar. While there is no executive suite for us Hilton Diamond members, the associate at the desk did give me two coupons for the bar. The rooms are nice. We had the two twin bed room which had a view of the town. The beds were soft and the pillows were cotton. The shower pressure was amazing and the bathroom itself was clean. Overall the staff was really friendly as well as helpful. They answered our questions about the town and made our stay really enjoyable. The hotel breakfast is definitely one to stop at, especially being a Diamond member where the breakfast is comped for you and a guest. Parking is in the garage that's connected to the building. It's 29 euros a night and can be charged to your room. I'm so happy we found this place. An amazing deal, a wonderful hotel located right in the central part of the town.

The "Deutsches Haus" is in the middle of Bonn and you can easily walk to the Town Centre where you find nice Bars and Restaurants. Breakfast Buffet! - This is absolutely great! You can find everything you like - even baked beans and pancakes. Fresh scrambled eggs (not from egg powder - but real freshly made!). The rooms are clean and spacious. I stayed here for 4 nights for a city break. For location this place is amazing as it is right in…read morethe centre of Bonn city and thus super easy to walk around. The airport bus from Cologne also stops within 1 minute of the property if you are travelling via the SB 60. In terms of our stay the staff was extremely friendly and the property was very clean. The economy room was an excellent size with high ceilings and they placed us in a room which overlooked the very pretty town centre. The big thing that let this property down for us was the breakfast which is included in the rate. Though it looks like there is many a choice between eggs, yoghurt, cereal, cheese, toast etc. everything is offered in such minimalism. You open the silver enclosure for eggs and you see a few tiny fragments left. The toast that is cut has 2 slices on offer and both are rock hard. The jam offering was very concerning as they had around 8 jars that were almost completely empty. It just did not like ok nice and was not appetising to have to scrape a fragment of old jam from the bottom. Why not get rid of these jars as they had little to nothing left in them and just offer 2 jams? They have a beautiful to serve in but their offering is bleak in relation. It was not a matter of so many people eating that it was depleted as it was like this all 4 times regardless if we went in the beginning or middle of breakfast time. Little efforts could really improve this.

I've now stayed twice at the Kameha Grand hotel and if I have the choice, it will be the only hotel in Bonn that I will ever stay at - it's that good. This place has style ... and tons of it. The decor is... intense. As in lots of red. Red red red. You've never seen so much red in your life. I promise. And yet, it's not overwhelming like you might think (see my pictures.) I've stayed in some of the top 5 star hotels in the world and this place is competitive. The rooms as absolutely awesome. The layout affords privacy and quiet (I never heard a sound from a neighbor) while providing comfort. The only negative I had was only 1 English language channel was working (about half of the channels did not appear) on the television. Fortunately, they have superior internet speed so I just watched stuff on my tablet. The room service menu has great food options. The food is somewhat pricey but absolutely excellent quality. I got the 35 euro breakfast and frankly, it's hard to imagine anyone eating everything. Definitely enough for two people. I ate a number of dinners there and found the food to be excellent but the menu is limited and if I was going to stay there for more than about 4 days I would probably get super bored of it. Hopefully, they change it seasonally. I'll find out next year when I return. They have a private cigar room and I was even able to order dinner there. Very nice. According to my colleagues, they have a fabulous spa and infinity pool but I was working too many hours to take the time to go. Also something I look forward to on my next visit. I did however walk around the hotel a lot. It's situated along the Rhine river and there's a fabulous walkway that adjoins the river next to the hotel. I took a number of walks on it and it is really beautiful. Some of the nearby buildings are to be appreciated architecturally as well. You can get to the hotel by train but you will have a bit of a walk (half of it on a muddy cobblestone road and in the dark by night) so if you're not comfortable with that, call a taxi. Otherwise the walk is about 5 minutes and very straightforward. You'll have to see the pictures I'm posting to get a full sense of this place. It's something else and definitely recommended if you have to stay in Bonn.

It's a very modern hotel with huge open plan and a bit too open for my liking. Everything is in deep colours and a lot of red and black, a bit too much in fact. They have a totally open plan checkin area and a lobby bar. For a 5 star hotel this place is ok. This is definitely not my kind of hotel. It's too open plan for my liking. The rooms are nice but a bit too colourful and not easy on the eyes. The bathroom is totally open and again something I don't like. Service here is good but none of the staff actually smile. Perhaps they have forgotten how to ? They are helpful and professional however just did not feel the warmth. The best person was the bartender who was very nice and made some decent cocktails. Breakfast is quite ok and the selection is good. Room service was also quite ok and I enjoyed my burger. All in all this place did not wow me in any way.
