We took the train into the city, and got a 15 minute taxi drive to the hotel. We decided to book Albergo as they had one of the best TripAdvisor reviews in the area (plus a private beach), however we didn't realize that it is about a 20 minute drive to the town center - which will cost you a $15 taxi. They have a city bus, but it does not run that often (only once an hour on the weekends, and less during the week). However, we still enjoyed our time in Geata. The hotel was nice and clean, and the grounds were kept up nicely. Our plan was to relax in Geata and that's exactly what we did. The beach area was decent (clean, crystal clear water), and they also have free lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas. In addition, they have a nice freshwater pool at the top of the resort, however the hot tub wasn't what I would consider a "hot" tub. It was basically the same temp of the pool and had jacuzzi jets. For our room we got a King suite that faced the ocean. The room could have used some updating, but I thought it was all apart of the old Italian charm of the resort. The patio off our room was HUGE and had a bistro table and lounge chairs. Apart of our room rental included breakfast, which was really nice. The spread included everything from eggs to croissants and fruit. A nice mix of options. Breakfast was served at the only restaurant at the resort, and we also went there for dinner. For Dinner my husband and I got the veal marsala and filet. Both were amazing, but the tiramisu was the best for dessert!!! I would give the restaurant for dinner 5 stars! Overall for the value, Albergo, was a great place to stay and somewhere to consider if you want to avoid the touristy area of Italy.

With that being said, if you like a very hard bed, then you will sleep well. (This opinion is coming from someone who has a Serta iComfort mattress, so take that into consideration when reading my opinion.) Breakfast (colazione) buffet is varied and plentiful. (7:00 a.m. to 10 a.m.) Offerings are several types of cereals, eggs, 'sausage' (meaning more like little hotdogs for us Americans), pastries, etc. Of course, like almost anywhere in Italy, the coffee (caffe) is smooth and yummy.Pool is large and is also a lap pool. Drinks (full bar) are offered around the pool. If you want pizza, they have another outdoor section near the pool where you can order food. There is a Mirasole restaurant that serves lunch and dinner, but dinner service ends at 9 p.m., which is out of character for all other eateries. I have not eaten here as there are so many other interesting restaurants to try. Some of the front desk staff are not as cordial as others, but all are helpful as they can be. Ah, the balcony in my room was so nice to spend time just relaxing. My room faced the front of the hotel. The view of the water, beach, and mountains are lovely. (Will attach photos.) You are only a couple of blocks from the beach. Mirasole offered a 1-day pass with my reservation to the beach to reserve beach loungers, a chair, and umbrella. Otherwise, plan on spending €15 - €20 /day, for an all-day rental. Access to the beach and walking the beach is free, but again, you will have to pay if you want an umbrella, loungers etc. Each business on the beach is like the gestapo, so do not think you can slip into a lounger for free. Ok, enough said....heading to the spiaggia (beach)!

The property is scenic and overall gorgeous... offering a waterfall cascading into a pool, many terraces with seating, and almost every part of the grounds offer great views of the beach/sea. Once you get down to the beach, this resort is located near the end. Worth checking out the small cave. Otherwise you can walk a couple kilometers along the sand to the other end, where there is a public beach. I prefer lounging in the sand or playing in the water, however there are many sun chairs to lounge in while you soak up the sun. The breakfast buffet served daily was delicious. A large selection of pastries, cheeses, cured meats, fruit, fresh squeezed juices, cereals, and also a hot food option (just order through one of the many kind staff members). Did not eat any other meals during our stay at this property but did enjoy apertivi on one of the terraces. Highly recommend this place. Quality service, paradise like oasis, and perfectly located between the towns of Sperlonga and Gaeta to enjoy exploring both areas. **if wedding venue planning, recommend checking this place out. A wedding occurred during one night of our stay. The staff decorated the grounds beautifully for the reception and neither our stay or the wedding party was disrupted by one another.
