We stayed only one night at this charming family run bed and breakfast in Medieval Gaeta but we would have happily stayed another week. Although the owner had offered to pick us up so we wouldn't get lost trying to walk there from the bus stop we decided to venture up the winding maze of foot streets (with the help of our smart phones) and after maybe one wrong turn we found our way to the deceptively modest exterior of B&B Sulmare. We knocked on the door and we were greeted by the Maria and Luigi, the husband and wife team that run the B&B. Maria was very kind and friendly and showed us to our room. The room was absolutely perfect. Firstly, it was totally spotless. The towels were as white as the driven snow, the windows clean and not a speck of dust. The gem of the room is the balcony that opens up to an epic view of the Mediterranean Sea. The bed was acceptably comfortable but could maybe use an updated mattress at some point in the near future as could the side tables which are a little flimsy. My only complaint was that there was a loud party beneath our room which we only had to deal with for maybe a couple hours after we can back from dinner at 10:30pm - 12:30am. Maria was very apologetic about the noise in the morning and even with this small interruption in an otherwise perfectly relaxing environment we would definitely come back and stay here again. Oh and I should mention that there's nothing like having a nice cappuccino on the deck in the morning and listening to the ocean crash against the rocks a few meters beneath you. read more
