To me there are two things that really make this hotel special- the fantastic owners and the amazing staff who are so hospitable and accommodating, and the tranquil environment. Once you come in off the street and head back to the bungalows. Also the grounds are meticulously cared for, the decor is fantastic and authentic Mexican, and the bungalows come equipped with mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave along with dishes, cups etc... Everyone goes above and beyond to make our stays relaxing and fun. The pool is great and usually very quiet. They also have Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas and beach towels that you can take to the beach which is a couple minute walk, so you don't have to bring any of this stuff or worry about renting it. If you're looking for a great experience give Hotel Vogue a try! They are simply the best!

First, there is the Hotel Vogue staff -- the most friendly, kind, helpful and knowledgeable staff you will find anywhere! The owner, Marv, felt like family immediately. He was so friendly and made it feel like home. The front desk staff, especially Kevin, were all so amazing and helpful with local recommendations and all round kindness. Let's not forget about Pinata...the cutest and most affectionate hotel pup you WILL EVER MEET!!! She made us smile every day and we were so happy she was constantly wagging around and giving us love. We felt so incredibly safe at Hotel Vogue. We often even found that we were leaving our bags out on our open patio for long periods of time because Hotel Vogue is so safe. They had someone at the front door always and a private security gate PLUS a coded door at night so that you always felt very safe. The facilities in this hotel are BEAUTIFUL. Everything is very clean, comfortable, spacious and you feel like you are in a private oasis when you enter. It's right in the middle of town, but you don't feel like it once you enter Hotel Vogue. The amazing plants and wildlife makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The rooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable - they have made a beautiful space that is so authentic to the Mexican culture which is what we loved most. Even though the owners, Marv and Mary, are from Michigan, they have created the most authentic and beautiful space at Hotel Vogue. We cannot express how much we loved staying here for our honeymoon and NO DOUBT we will be back again! Thank you for everything Hotel Vogue!!

Perfect stay in every way! I just returned home from this fantastic boutique hotel…read more Upon arrival, we were greeted with a margarita and the most helpful, attentive staff. We stayed in the Villa Amor Eterno. We gasped when we walked in. Absolutely breathtaking! It was at the very top of the hill, so yes there were stairs, 157 to be exact! I loved the workout so this didn't bother me what so ever. The room was spacious with individual sliding glass door/closed rooms. They had private bathrooms and showers as well as air conditioning. The main space was open air with a Palapa roof, a very generous sized kitchen, sitting area as well as a large table for dining. I couldn't have asked for anything better! I absolutely loved every second I was there! I will 100% be returning in the very near future.

The hotel is beautiful, but for the price, it was low value. We had a number of issues:…read more We got a two bedroom / two bathroom apartment and neither shower worked the first day. They fixed one the second day we were there. We stopped on our way from the airport to get food and our fridge was turned off so when we arrived late and unpacked our food, the next morning, everything had spoiled. No one told us there were yoga classes, so I walked across town for yoga, only to find out the hotel had classes every morning. The Concierge said there was yoga every day except Fri/Sat/Sun.... and then we went to the pool Friday and there was a yoga class that morning as well. We reserved a car with a carseat and triple checked that there would be one there, and it was in the car on the way to the hotel, but even with a reminder, they forgot on the way back. This caused a 30-min delay onto way to the airport. The driver kept complaining about the owner of the hotel, always forgetting to tell him... he was angry and irritated the entire ride that we needed one and we made him late. It caused a particularly unpleasant ride to the airport. There were people working in our patio one afternoon when we were on the patio and did not even apologize or acknowledge it was inconvenient. I didn't feel comfortable sitting out there alone in a bathing suit. I thought the space was supposed to be private. The view is beautiful though. And the place nicely decorated and very clean. For the price, there were other places half the price I will stay at when we return to Sayulita.

This intimate boutique hotel…read morebrilliantly coupled the bohemian flair of Sayulita with the more luxurious aesthetic travelers wander to its neighboring towns for. While we are not ones to seek luxury over experience, Avela made certain that on this trip neither had to be the choice. We were immediately greeted by the warm staff, given a tour and shown to our rooms. All questions were answered and we were left to enjoy the peace and quite the property offers just a seven-minute walk from the bustling town square. Immediately impressed with the chic room decor, the only reason we paused from admiring was that we sat on the bed and were surrounded in total comfort. The cloud-like bed, silence, and hum of the air conditioner drifted us to a post-travel little siesta. Feeling fully relaxed we headed out to the true gem of Avela, the pool area. The open design, while welcoming, feels truly like your own oasis. Comfortable chairs line the geographically gorgeous cool water refresher and a jacuzzi feature sits at either end. You can easily waste the day away in solitude or the friendly staff will prepare a delicious selection of fresh, light, cool food. The Tuna dish and guacamole are out of this world ..... and the 'chip' they use is something we can't stop talking about. Post pool day, dinner is served at any of the restaurants in town. From taco stands to high-end Italian or our MUST-DO first and last stop for pineapple & basil gelato; the quaint little town is always a fiesta and a quick and easy walk away. Overall Avela was perfect for us. Close enough to town that we could come and go at our leisure but just far enough out that it's liveliness wasn't a distraction late at night or early in the morning. Avela is also the perfect collaboration of Sayulita's art driven, surfer saturated, gypsy escape with the luxury and plush comfort of a larger resort while still keeping a very specialized approach. The third time was the charm for our visit to Sayulita as we now have a place we'll call 'home' whenever we visit.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Casablanca Sayulita Hotel last week and the entire experience,…read morefrom beginning to end, did not disappoint. I came here with a large group (renting out most of the space), so we basically had the entire place to ourselves. That means access to 2 huge pools - one more private and one overlooking the water, the main kitchen area with a large outdoor dining/activity space, the beach on our doorsteps (chairs included), and beautiful rooms - each of which had not 1 but 2 balconies overlooking either the water or the trees. Each room also had a large bathroom, sizable kitchen area with plates, cutlery, and a coffee machine, and a living area. Pretty good for the price we paid. On the property there were tons of showers and faucets to get the sand off which was much needed since we spent a lot of time doing beach or pool activities. The hotel staff was so sweet and really made us feel safe and at home. Nelson walked around the grounds and always asked if we needed help, both day AND night. Talk about wonderful service. We ate a few meals in town, which is walking distance from the property. During the day, we walked along the beach. At night, we opted to walk through the neighborhood (we had a big group, but use your own discretion since some parts are not very well lit). Either way, it's about a 10 minute walk or 5 minute golf cart ride (you can rent one here if you'd like). If you're coming from PVR airport, an Uber ride will set you back about $40 USD, which is pretty good considering the ride itself is about 40 minutes without traffic. You can also rent a cab through the hotel but that's a bit more expensive - probably about $10 or $20 extra. Still worth it, I think. The rooms and property were pretty spotless, but we had a few instances of critters getting in, so just be mindful about leaving your windows and doors open. Everyone on the property speaks English so don't fret if you don't speak Spanish. When you check in, they'll place a $50 USD charge on your card for a beach towel (I guess people have stolen them in the past). When you check out, just hand in your towel and room key and the money will be refunded to your credit card. We really had a wonderful stay. I can't say enough good things about Casablanca Sayulita.

Sayulinda Hotel - Rooftop bar

Sayulinda Hotel

We were in Sayulita for a wedding, and the Sayulinda Hotel was one of the hotels suggested by the…read morewedding couple. It was the only hotel option in town, and we thought that it would be nice to stay somewhere in the middle of all of the action. Boy, is it! It's definitely in the middle of the action, meaning that there is club music or concerts until 2 or 3am every night. While the hotel provides ear plugs (and I never travel without mine), those ear plugs don't stand a chance against the thumping music which reverberates through the walls. This might have been exacerbated by the fact that we were staying in the patron suite (on the top floor / roof) which doesn't have a "traditional hotel door" to the room. That being said, the hotel is lovely and they do make every effort to let you know that it is a loud location. The patron suite is located on the rooftop of the hotel, just next to the pool. There is a gate to the hotel room and you have to walk down stairs to get to the door of the suite (not well suited for people who have difficulty walking stairs); the door to the hotel room is very cool - it's a wooden door with a big plank that secures the door closed. The room is large with a big open bathroom, a seating area and its own private patio with cushioned lounge chairs and seating area. The ceilings are quite tall, and it has a thatched roof (which also probably reduces the sound-proofing). The patron suite is supposed to have a dedicated poolside lounge bed which is reserved for the suite, but people definitely don't respect it...and there isn't anybody policing it. As for general facilities, there is a rooftop pool which has a beautiful view of the beach. The pool is small but it does have loungers in the pool. There is a rooftop bar, but there isn't any food, though they will let you order from another restaurant for delivery. All of the rooms come with complimentary breakfast which was quite tasty and was available throughout the morning - it was provided by the restaurant next door and was an egg dish with toast, coffee and juice. Service was all very pleasant.

So much so, that we brought friends back for drinks yesterday. During this second visit, there was a DJ and special promotion going on, so it was loud and a bit more crowded at the bar but still so fun. Our group of 8 had drinks by the cabanas... I had a Paloma which was delicious, a couple of friends had fabulous espresso martinis with tequila, and others had specialty cocktails off the menu. Service was friendly and attentive both visits. I can't speak to staying here but if you are in Sayulita, it's definitely worth a visit!
