Room was very spacious and modern. Lots of pillows and a comfy king bed. Upscale amenities provided as well. The air conditioning was super cold, and thank God because it hit triple digits on a few days. There is a coffee bar setup in the entry area of the room and includes a tea kettle. The separate room entry area has plenty of storage for luggage and clothes too. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the bedroom, entry area and the restroom were for a "standard room." A chaise lounger, a table and two sofa chairs are also situated in the room. This hotel is classy and wonderful. The front desk is so helpful. I purchased several purses, wallets and gifts for family members. The hotel arranged to package and ship the items to the U.S. for us. The items arrived home before we did, lol. Room service begins at 4:00 pm., but there are tons of restaurants nearby. The hotel has an elegant bar for a night cap or drink after a day of touring. Friendly front desk staff. Perfect location. Steps from the duomo, train station, shopping and all the wonderful restaurants and bars. Loved this hotel. read more

Great location and near the train station as for the pros Cons: - the A/C is not strong enough - as you walk in there's a smell to this place that can be off putting - it took them over an hour to pull up our car which they told us 15 mins - no views I'd expect a little better from this hotel chain but it wasn't terrible, not great. read more

When we checked in, the place was under construction. I thought that would explain the horrid smell when I walked in the lobby, but after reading other reviews, apparently that smell is par for the course. Biggest problem - THE AIR CONDITIONING IS AWFUL!!! I am sweating while I type this and we've had it running for the last two hours straight. Also, the views are awful. See picture below. Great central location! Close enough to a handful of great restaurants, shopping, and the train station. We made our reservations though Costco Travel. We were on the top (4th floor). Not too much of a view but the room was spacious and it was quite. The room showed a little bit of age but it was clean and we were able to get three nights of good sleep. The hotel was so sweet too when they saw the honeymoon note and sent up a bottle of prosecco and light snacks. The two elevators here are a little tight and at times can be a little on the slower side. There's a computer to use but all printing needs need to be emailed to the front desk. Complimentary breakfast buffet was the least favorite out of all the three we had in our European vacation as it was simple and didn't offer much tasty items, but it was a nice option to have. Hotel Cerretani was a nice centrally located hotel for us for our three night stay in beautiful Florence. 3.5 rounded up. read more

Just a short walk from the Train Station, the Cerretani Hotel awaits you. I arrived early in the afternoon and was greeted at the front desk with a personalized envelope and the words, "We've been expecting you!" I was escorted to my room by a friendly young man and was definitely happy with my decision to stay at the Cerretani. The bed was super comfortable with crisp white sheets and duvet. There was also plate of fresh fruit waiting for me. The bathroom was ultra modern and spotless. A decanter of Acqua dell Elba was on the vanity which diffused the room with a fragrance I will always associate with Italy. The hotel has the most wonderful dining room open for the included breakfast. Four high-def panels run across the back wall providing a spectacular visual display. On my second day, the dining room was also open for an impromptu lunch buffet. All included in the price of the room. The hotel is just a short walk to the Duomo, the Arno River, the many upscale fashion boutiques and everything Florence has to offer. read more

Just checked out after spending 3 nights here while on my honeymoon in Italy. Very disappointing stay overall and wish we had stayed elsewhere. Our biggest issue with this hotel was the customer service. Every person who worked here was rude and very unhelpful whenever we had issues. Beyond that I've outlined some other issues below: AC: When we first checked in our room was HOT and the person who came to our room to help us with the air didn't understand how to work the complex air conditioning system which was frustrating. The air seemed to turn off in the middle of the night each night so we would wake up sweating every night. The bedding was a thick comforter with no sheet so that was a bit frustrating as well. Cleaning service: Whenever we would leave our room to come back after the cleaning service came we would find that they would leave used coffee cups and food instead of clearing it from the room but they would always manage to turn off the air conditioning so it was hot when we returned to the room. Also; they took our spare key from our room that we left our. When I reported this security issue to the front desk the rude man working laughed at me and even though he promised to let me know he was looking into why my key was taken he never updated me. Needless to say we didn't feel our belongings were safe in our room after that. Bar: Every time we went to the hotel bar at night there was no one staffing it so we had to wait for the front desk to call the bartender every time. Concierge: most of the times I called down to ask the concierge questions, the phone would ring and ring and no one ever picked up. Also when I emailed in advance of our visit asking about some things we wanted to do while in Florence, we never heard back via email. Not what you typically expect from a 4 star hotel... Lastly, after complaining numerous times throughout the stay about issues we were having the hotel never did anything to help rectify any of our issues. We came here for our honeymoon last year and it was by far the best hotel we stayed at in all of Italy. The location was super convenient and close to a lot of the major areas of the city. Our room was facing the street, so we had a view of the sun rising over the city every morning. The room was actually quite large for the price we paid as well. Most importantly though, the breakfast buffet was AWESOME! Now let me say that this is a statement that I never thought I would utter, especially in a public forum. I generally do not like buffets, and I almost always dislike the awful continental breakfasts served in most hotels. This place however, is an exception to the rule. The pastries were fresh baked every morning, the scrambled eggs weren't overcooked and tough, and the meat selection was epic! There was bacon, there was sausage, there was three types of salami, prosciutto, and 2-3 more I can't remember the names of. For those on the healthier path, they even had a huge fruit selection, granola, and regular cereal. We woke up every morning looking forward to eating a hotel breakfast....who says that? Wait, I forgot to mention the best part, it's FREE(at least it was with our room)! If we ever come to Florence again, we will stay exclusively at the Hotel Cerretani. read more

What is that smell? basically sums up the first impression of this hotel. Upon entering the lobby we were hit with an obnoxious scent that my girlfriend, who works as a nurse anesthetist, described it as a GI leak in the OR. It got worse through the trip, sometimes almost causing me to gag, and I have a very strong stomach and can gut a deer without any reaction. They have oil diffusers throughout the hotel lobby, and we thought maybe that was their scent, but upon close sniff inspection the scent was not the same. The staff was not the friendliest, but not as rude as our previous stay at the Hotel River earlier in the week. The elevator was extremely small and extremely slow. The hallways were just as tight and filled with stairs (not handicap or roller bag friendly). The room was nice, but everything else overshadowed it before we got in the room that I already had a bad attitude about the hotel. The shower & the shower door could have been designed better. They had good toiletries too. The number one positive is how close this hotel is located to the Duomo and the train station (both easy walking distance). We were there for the explosion of the cart on Easter, so it was nice that we could run back to the hotel to change after mass at the Duomo and go back to watch the parade in more comfortable clothes. Would I stay here again? Only if they did something about the scent, since the price was reasonable for the location. read more

We had a room that fit a bed comfortably. Going from one side to the other was a challenge but at least our bodies fit on the bed and the bed fit in the room. In this holiday season, we ought to be thankful for this. The elevator is a claustrophobe's worst nightmare and a deep annoyance for a normal person. We took the stairs at every opportunity which in hindsight is also something to be thankful for. I'm slightly confused by the positive reviews of its breakfast offering. Maybe I'm jaded but I felt the limited hot food selection (3 items) and pastries (that did not taste all that fresh) were disappointing. Indeed, the location is outstanding being minutes from the duomo. For a short stay, this hotel is manageable, otherwise it's less than ideal. read more

Great location easy walk from the train station, and a block and a half from the Duomo. We were greeted by Alberto and Stefania with great advice and a very friendly smile. The orange juice, grapefruit juice, water and apples available in the lobby in the afternoon were a nice touch. The rooms are a bit dark but our luxury room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The air conditioner did not work well so we left the window open. There was some noise from the street but we were so tired from touring that it did not matter. The bathroom in one room smelled moldy. There are no face clothes. The wifi is $7 per device per stay. Seems like a throwback to 2007. Breakfast is mediocre. Would give the buffet three stars. Hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, many pastries, yogurt and fruit salad. It took a while for empty chafing dishes to be replenished. All that said, it was a great choice for our family. read more

The hotel's location is super: 5 min to the train station and 5 min to Duomo! The room is clean. They gave our three kids a fairly spacious room so they can easily stretch out. The staff is helpful and responsive. No complain to their free breakfast. Good hotel for family vacation. The small elevator at the end of the hallway needs a serious overhaul, this costs a star from us. read more

Location is convenient, in the center of the city, easy walk to all shop and anything you need. Room is small but comfortable and luxurious. The only thing I feel is lacking is the breakfast. Everyday is the same, very blend and not many options to choose from, if I knew I would not have purchased the breakfast plan, cost 40 euros for two, not good at all. Also the waiter/waitress at the hotel serving breakfast aren't very friendly, find that weird. read more
