I had a good stay here this summer. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station and "downtown" area (note that Zermatt is a pretty small village). My room had access to a balcony with a lovely view of the Matterhorn and the village.
The bed was okay - the pillows were a bit deflated, and the mattress did not have the best back support, but I did not have any issues sleeping. The bedroom also had a sink and TV, on which I was able to watch a World Cup game after a day of hiking.
I absolutely loved the bathroom. It was clean, modern, and bright with a skylight and a sizeable tub - I took a few baths there and it was very relaxing. Shower pressure was great.
I didn't get a chance to check out all the amenities offered by this hotel, but I have surely checked out breakfast, which was included in my rate. I was fortunate enough to get a seat with a Matterhorn view both mornings I was there. Breakfast was very substantial with multiple bread/cereal options, cured meats, and a cheese board. It was definitely good fuel for a day of hiking!
Check-in/out were smooth and there are maps and information pamplets (in several languages) by the elevators in case anyone needs. This is not a big hotel and I believe it is family run. Staff was friendly and professional. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future. read more
