Once at the Punto pesca pier, take the bus or taxi from to the heart of Lido Jesolo. I would have never thought about visiting the beach during my trip to Venice, but this ocean front hotel can't be beat. This hotel boasts beach front views as well as partial views on both sides of the building. I high recommend the xtra $ for the beach front view with balcony. The beaches are beautiful, well appointed with tons of seating and umbrellas. The hotel has an indoor white table cloth restaurant and outdoor open air restaurant. Breakfast of available every morning with fully stocked food bar and off menu ordering options. There is also a beach front pool the is quait and also provides a level is seclusion for your party. Just like most beach front hotels, there is a strip just behind the hotel with shops, eateries and souvenir stores.

There's plenty of things to see and do from this hotel if you prefer to stay local and away from the crowded area of Venice. This way you can have the full experience of staying in the locale Italy. The front desk clerks were all accommodating since they seemed to be aware that I don't speak the language. They were helpful and tried to speak in English to help me out. The room was spacious, clean & tastefully decorated, it's a little small, but perfect for my needs. This hotel is conveniently located on a bus route going to Venice where you can find bus and train routes/ stations and water bus. I highly recommend this place to stay if you want to have a home base while you're in Italy.

While the lure to stay on one of the Venice islands is strong, and if you book early and have the money and I'm sure it's amazing, however if you're looking to spend a bit less, and want some peace and tranquility for your holiday, I strongly recommend Mirano, and not just the town, but Villa Patriarca Boutique Hotel specifically. he Villa HP turned out to be everything it promised - and more. Not only did it benefit from the friendliest staff and locals we had met, but the prices were also much more reasonable than Venice and the food - amazing. My mornings consisted of a swim at 9am in their 25 yard pool. Followed by coffee & wifi connecting (free wifi!) to keep up to date with my digital life. Then back to spending a few hours in the pool before lunch and heading into Venice around 4pm - which in the summer, is perfect timing. Even during the busiest seasons, we weren't overwhelmed by tourists and could enjoy a meal as the sun sets - and what better time to see Venice than that. The pictures on the website don't alone do it justice. Highly recommended. Will go again.

Yes, it's a 20 min boat ride to Piazza di San Marco - and you have to take the boat from there it seems. So, if you're at the northern parts of the islands in the evening, it's a 30 min walk through Venice to get there. Having said that, can you really give a 1 star review based on location? Hmm, maybe, but here there's more. What really put me off with this hotel was that when we got our rooms, the sheet was dirty. Right next to my pillow. Maybe it was makeup that had been smeared out, maybe it was something else, who knows. Either way, I don't want it next to my head when sleeping. Thus, I went out and asked them to change it. Sure, no problems, they will change it tomorrow during the cleaning. Eh, WHAT?? No understanding, no excuse, no attempt to fix it. I ended up changing the sheets myself, which is not really a problem - except that I expect not having to do that in a 100euro/night room... So, service was mixed. What about the room itself? It was good sized and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and the pillows as well. It was really cool to have the canal just outside the window. Big minus that the AC only had an on/off mode (where the on mode was several celcius too cold - yes, we asked them to have a look at it, and they did. Nothing happened with it.). Free Wifi in the lobby, no wifi at all in the room (outlet for ethernet cable available). Come on, this is 2014?! Breakfast was probably the highlight of the hotel, best one we had in Italy by far. Was especially impressed that they also had dark rye bread! Minus for nothing being labeled - the plain croissants mentioned in one review were really nice, but they were easily mistaken for the ones with a sweet filling (same box, different shelves, looked identical). Coffee, as in all other Italian hotels I've stayed in was from a machine - ironically enough with all Italians having good espresso all the time.

They make you return the key to the lobby everytime you leave your room in order for them to clean it. Our blow dryer wasn't working properly bit we were too busy to complain. There is only one person working at the front desk. A short walk from the hotel to the water bus. Most stores in the area are closed on the weekends. The water bus will take you to San Marco in about 10 mins and it runs very frequent. If you're taking the water bus to the airport, you have to buy a separate water bus ticket. The water bus terminal to the airport is about 15 min walk from the hotel and the ride takes about an hour.

I really, really wanted to love it here, but I just didn't…read more Murano doesn't have a lot of places to stay, but I was keen to spend the day before and the day after our cruise on Murano instead of in Venice proper, so we needed 2 separate nights in a hotel. I booked Murano Palace for both but ended up cancelling the second night and going elsewhere. Basically it is a small, family-run place that is much more like a B&B than a hotel. The owner wanted us to call when we were at the airport but that would have been expensive, so we just emailed and said we were on course for our arrival time. You see, they don't staff the building except when they know people are coming. So that's awkward. We got to the hotel about half an hour early and the door was locked, so we buzzed and waited and waited and buzzed and knocked and nothing. Finally I emailed and said we were waiting and the door was opened for us. There's no lift and the stairs a bit awkward when you're dragging luggage and there's no offer of help. The lights have to be pushed on every time (and you need a special key to have them on in your room). The lady who checked us in was nice but didn't really speak English. Our room was not the cheapest in the hotel but wasn't a canal view - it was, in fact, right next to the reception desk. The window opened up onto nothing, except the kitchen window - so they could see right in our room if we didn't have the curtains drawn. And it was warm but the air conditioning wasn't on so we wanted the window open... not great. But the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom large. The TV is tiny and doesn't have any English channels. There is a minibar with a few free items which is nice. When we checked in we had to decide what time we wanted breakfast the next day, which was annoying. As it was, we didn't much want to get up for breakfast after a terrible sleep - the walls are paper-thin, and there was a late check-in, and people talking in the corridor throughout the night (not at all loudly but they might as well have been right in our room). So we traipsed to our unwanted breakfast and met the male owner, who was friendly but a bit overbearing. As we don't drink coffee we might as well not have bothered - we were each given a warm bread roll and there were a few pastries but that was pretty much it. But that's to be expected, and Italians don't really do breakfast. Long story short - if you like the B&B feeling, want to feel 'part of the family', and have good earplugs, you'll love it here. We didn't.

Overall a great 3 star hotel in a fabulous location. Couldn't beat the price for the area. San Gallo Hotel is just 1 block down from St Marks Square and in the middle of all the action. There's a small square in front of the main entrance door with an outdoor cafe and surrounded by tons of restaurants and shops. It takes 2 flights of stairs to get up to the reception area so be prepared to go up and down a lot. The staff was absolutely amazing and accommodating (5 stars for them). Each morning I came out for a cappuccino ($2.5 Euros). They have a small breakfast selection but I didn't partake so can't speak to that part. We stayed in room#2 decorated in vintage decor, with a lovely chandelier. A few treats (chocolate bites, fruit & nuts) welcomed us along with 2 bottles of water. The room also had a small refrigerator. I would say the negative was the actual size of the room (however I imagine most rooms in the center of Venice are tiny). The musty smell also took a few minutes to get used to otherwise everything else was fabulous. I would definitely stay here again especially for the VIP customer service, price, and location!

We needed a place to stay the night before we planned to see Venice. On a last-minute reservation, the Albergo Campana welcomed us with open arms. It was very late Saturday night when we checked in, but the owner graciously accepted us and provided us with a nice room to sleep in. The next day, he walked us through how to get ticket for the bus in order to get to Venice. Plus, he provided us with parking tips so we park our car close to the hotel and NOT get towed. After Venice, we departed the hotel. We had to return because we needed Wi-Fi to know where we were going next. Even though our time had ended, the owner let us in (on a Sunday, which is a big deal in Italy) and we were able to use the Wi-Fi for however long we needed. This saving grace allowed my two friends and me to plan where we were going next and how to get there. If you plan on visiting Venice, you must stay in this hotel.
