Rooms were modern and clean and felt, bright, airy and relaxing. The free WiFi was relatively, pretty fast. We had breakfast and dinners included which we ate at the hotel. Breakfasts are the usual continental-style you find across Italy: ham/salami platter, cheese platter, yogurt, cold cereal, rolls/bread; unusually, they did put out hard-boiled eggs. The best part of dinner was an extensive salad bar the pasta, some of which even looked fresh and not dried. We were even given choices for the secondi. Stay away from the "Vegetarian" meals, abyssmal and mostly cold. Location is convenient for the bus to the Punta Sabbioni (pier) to catch the boats to Venice and the outlying islands. The hotel is oceanfront, so the best location for beachgoers. In the nearby Piazza Aurora are plenty of shops for sandwiches and souvenirs, coffee bars, a bank, convenience stores with sodas and booze. Would def recommend if you are planning a visit to Venice.

Venice is like a maze though, and not ADA friendly, so dont bring a big suitcase bc there are many stairs up and down bridges along the way. The building is amongst other similar residential buildings, making you feel like a local and completely at home during your stay. This is a family operated business, and with more tourist in town any day of the week than actual Venicians, it's so important to support the local people. The rate includes a small breakfast and use of cute garden patio in the back. The rooms are rooms but very clean.

It's not to…read morepricey, but like many other European B&B's you have a shared bath in the hallway, and small rooms. They allowed for 6 of us to be in one room. It was tight, but we were only looking for a spot to sleep so we could fully enjoy Venice at night. If you like more of a local experience this is also a good spot. The walk to and from the main areas takes you past many beautiful churches and fabulous architecture. Travelers need to remember to bring shampoo and other basic essentials. However, if you forget there is a COOP grocery close by that should have some of the items you might need. Traveller tips. Sit outside for meals if you can, but be aware of the coperto and servizio charges. The coperto is per person and can be as much as 2 euro each. The service charge is a percentage of the bill. If you are trying to save money sit inside and decline the bread. This will help a little. Otherwise enjoy the experience and don't worry about the extra fees.

We stayed at Locanda Antica from Friday evening to Monday morning with 2 people. We are young…read moretravelers without a huge budget, and we were thrilled to find this charming place for a decent price. It's located in a tiny alleyway that might look a bit fishy, but don't let that deceive you! The people working there were all super friendly, they helped us in any way they could (from a broken zipper to finding where we needed to go). We even got a better room (free upgrade) for one night because it wasn't booked anyway that night, which was great. Breakfast was the same every day but there was enough variety in it, and the little rooftop terrace is super cozy for late night wine drinking :). We shared a bathroom with 1 other person, but we did find that our bathroom was often occupied by guests from one floor below us? Those rooms all have their own bathrooms, but we occasionally had to wait half an hour to pee because some dude with his own private bathroom was occupying our shower. So if there is one tip I can give Locanda Antica, it's to maybe use a separate lock for the shared bathrooms and only give that key or that code to the people who actually sleep in the corresponding rooms. Apart from that: 10/10, would totally recommend for a real homey, authentic and comfortable experience, very close to everything worth seeing in Venice! Thanks so much!

TL;DR - Hidden gem of a hotel in Venice, extremely convenient for coming and going from the city…read more We chose this place on two main measures - firstly, it was very reasonably priced. Secondly, it was close to Piazzale Roma (where buses from the airport arrive) and Santa Lucia train station. On those measures alone, it met all our needs... but this place offers so much more. Firstly, it's on a quiet side street so although you're in a very touristy city it feels like you're off the beaten track, despite being incredibly convenient. Secondly, the breakfast! Every morning we got a wonderful breakfast, and they have an outdoor terrace you can sit on to enjoy it, overlooking lush greenery and enjoying the calm - it's a perfect way to start the day. But the biggest surprise we got here was our room. There are no elevators, so we went up the stairs to the top floor where our room was. We opened the door and found another flight of stairs... and then we were blown away - our room was basically the entire top floor of the building with a private bathroom, a small kitchen, a living area and a double bedroom - plus a large outdoor balcony which overlooked gardens. It was absolutely idyllic. The decor wasn't exactly modern but everything was spotlessly clean and in impeccable condition. It's worth noting that the hotel isn't staffed 24/7 - but they give you a key to the garden gate and the building front door so you can come and go as you please.

It cooled somewhat in the morning when we were able to open the windows. I don't normally sleep hot. These rooms were just unusually hot. In fairness it's August but I'd like a room to at least be in the 70s to sleep. Now I'm grumpy and they won't turn on the coffee machine until 8am. Location is good but be advised there is no elevator. That is not a big deal to us but it might be to some.

The bathrooms, albeit small, are still manageable. The heated towel rack in the bathroom is awesome and the hot water pot is a nice plus. The friendly staff is really what solidifies this as a great place to stay when visiting Venice.
