The rooms were clean and sufficient. Some rooms have balconies, but ours did not. There was a mini fridge with complimentary water, safe, coffee maker, TV. The dinners were not that exciting that were predetermined for our group. Would have rather dined out all 4 nights instead of 1, but that was part of the group package. The soups and desserts were pretty tasty, but the main courses did not wow. The final night was a beef roast and it was overcooked to the point that it got very dry even when covered with gravy. The rosti raclette dish was soggy and raclette cheese wasn't special. Shrimp cocktail salad tasted fine but weird with baby shrimp. The best thing about the food was the breakfast spread - lots to choose from. We enjoyed a spritz at the bar one evening. The staff was all friendly and welcoming. There is an elevator in the lobby.

No welcome like you would get on arriving at a relais & chateau member. For me the cherry on the top was the aggressive behaviour of the front desk Frau when asking for an explanation of the bill. The food and drinks were so good that we only wanted to eat our meals at Hotel Eiger. That's super rare for me as I usually like to sample different restaurants. But the meals were just so good that I couldn't imagine getting a better meal elsewhere. The beef entrecôte with béarnaise sauce was my favorite meal of our entire Swiss vacation. The Schwarz Mönch beer was available and was as delicious as everyone said it would be. And the fresh orange juice machine was so fun during breakfast and made the best juice.

The service was great, the view was incredible, and the food. WOW. We had the prawns to start, and their bread was amazing. I mean this place was crazy delicious. We had a mushroom ravioli that was out of this world, and a diablo chicken. I mean all this was so delicious and just fantastic. We did have something for dessert, but I don't have the photo for it. It was probably delicious as well. I would love to come back and check this out during the winter time. The patio was the best way to finish out our meal. See photos for some of what we ate. :)

It's a typical ski-trip place to stay. No luxuries but everything is really clean and in working condition. I had a double room with balcony just for myself and part of the view was on the mountains and second part was on TschentenAlp lift and the hill. The room really felt like a room in a traditional Swiss cottage. Extras? - A fridge. - A place to leave your ski and boots in the hall downstairs. Downsides? - Really hard to find a wall socket. - The TV was tiny and despite many cable channels BBC didn't work (I wasn't expecting much but it still was on the list). - I'd also appreciate a bottle of water in the room. Restaurant: Breakfast was fresh and first-class quality. Low variety though. I had the daily lunch special which consisted of a salad and meatloaf. I was expecting them served together but apparently the salad was an appetizer. It was a tasty, kind of a home-cooked meal. A tiny bit too salty though. Overall I had a pretty positive experience. The hotel and restaurant staff was extremely kind and helpful, huge thumbs up! And I won't not say it was crazy expensive because it's obvious: it's Switzerland AND a ski resort.
