Since we were primarily there to visit Jungfrau, staying in Adelbodeen added an hour to our commute one way everytime we wanted to go to Interlarken. It felt unnecessary to drive this extra distance when you have good options in Interlarken, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. Especially if you are going to take the Swiss travel pass, you might want to factor in distance to the train station. We opted for this option because we had a car and this was very well priced compared to any other options in Interlaken. This is not a con of the hotel. Our stay was comfortable and I would recommend this place.

If you've ever eaten this dish anywhere else, it is usually a plate of mostly veal fat with very little flavor. At the Rossli it is much less fatty, and comes with this gravy boat of very finely cubed vegetables in a heavenly vinaigrette. Last night I had some veal dish off the daily specials menu, that the waitress described as from the calf/ankle of the calf. Whatever the cut was, it was low fat and beautifully tender. My wife had the kalbsleber which I tasted and was also delicious (and I not usually a fan of liver, well not cow liver anyway). What I am a big fan of when I'm in Switzerland is veal. I think we Americans have the best beefsteaks, but the Swiss have and prepare the best veal. The service here is top notch and very professional. It's been my experience that all the servers are fluent in English, French and German, but that is pretty much the case at all of the places in Gstaad. The menus are also printed in these 3 languages, except for the daily specials which are only listed in French and German. The servers also wear traditional uniforms you would expect at a Swiss landhaus in the old days. The chalet the Rossli is located in may actually be the oldest chalet in the village. Based on the name it was the original post office for the village, and is currently also a modest hotel. I've only ever eaten in the steubli, which I prefer over the formal dining room. The steubli is decorated with old skiing photos, deer antlers and local artifacts. I find it very charming. This place defines classic Swiss dining in a Landhaus. If you are in town during anything resembling the busy seasons; Christmas, February, and Summer, I would suggest reservations. The impression I have, is that this place is popular with those in the know. I've been going there for 13 years now and it's always good. Lastly, there's price. With the exchange rate being what it is the last few years, Switzerland is expensive, and Gstaad is expensive anyway, but I consider this place a very good value considering the quality of the food and impeccable service.

The breakfast is the same daily with some slight changes. I didn't mind that because I loved it! I wish that they offered a lunch or dinner buffet option. We ended up doing room service for dinner and it was quite pricey. We did enjoy the burgers that we order. I also like how the room cleaners would clean the rooms and refill the fridge everyday. The mini bar is free and they offer soda, water, and ice tea. We enjoyed the view and everything. I just think that the people who took photos for the resort or at the resort made it look better than what I experienced. I did really enjoy it, but it looked more amazing in pictures.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Frederick, who showed us to our rooms and gave us some recommendations for things to do over the weekend. Our room was fabulous-- we stayed in one of the panoramic view rooms. I will say that we spent very little time in our room as there were so many neat spaces to enjoy in the hotel. We spent quite a bit of time in the spa and in the pool, and if you are visiting, these are both a must-do while staying at the hotel. It was surprisingly quiet during our trip-- there were times when the pool was a busier but it was still enjoyable. Given the picturesque landscape, we were delighted not to be surrounded by people getting in the pool just to take "influencer" photos. The food was incredible. We dined in the restaurant on our first night which is when the black angus entrecôte and accompanying hollandaise stole our hearts. So much so that we cancelled our dinner reservations out in town for the second night to try other things on the menu. The ribs, the ribeye, the Aranchini, the mac, babaghanoush, the broccolini, the cheesecake... it was all so delicious. Straightforward flavors, fantastic food. Service provided by Vincenzo and Patrick was also wonderful. You can get a good drink anywhere, but it takes a special kind of hospitality to turn a drink into an experience. Bartender (and in our opinion, genius mixologist) of the Axe Bar, Phillip, made us a variety of experimental cocktails based on our tastes and it was an epic time. We came for one drink and ended up staying for quite a few. We truly enjoyed chatting with him, as well as the other bartenders Miguel and Kevin. Did it live up to the hype? Kind of. Upon check in, we were informed that there's one free activity included a day that's decided beforehand. You must sign up the day prior by 15.00. Checking in around 16.00 on Monday and leaving Tuesday, we could only sign up for a Wednesday activity. The hotel itself is large with a lobby, bar, overpriced restaurants, a game area, kids stations, a spa, pool, and other activities. The winning elements of the trip were the free mountain bike rentals, the pool, spa area, and views. Breakfast included is really good and plenty of options, including gluten free options. The rooms were nice with closet space, a balcony, drinking water, etc. A few things to note: 1) There's no AC and the rooms get hot. There's also only a heavy blanket on the bed and no sheets to use as a cover. 2) The game room is in disrepair with half of the games not working it in poor condition. 3) Staff aren't very friendly. They are helpful just cold.
