If you're going to buy a chainsaw from this guy, make sure you bring two stroke and start it. I bought $1800 worth of chainsaws from him. They all leak right out of the box. I asked him to fix them but offered me a $50 Venmo to bring them to a mechanic lol Or send me instructions how to fix them. I'm not a mechanic. Also, I have no time to fix 3 chainsaws. He was thinking of everything under the sun not to deal with my problem. Telling me he's only a a dealer and does not work on the chainsaws. He'll warranty the parts but not fix them. To me it sounds absolutely crazy. If you're gonna go to the hardware store and buy a toaster. You go home and find out the toaster handle is broken. Just got my mulch delivery and am very happy with their service. Showed up on time, with really good wood chips, all looking like hardwoods of some type. No branches, leaves, or dirt. Price was reasonable, and to note about what somebody else said, was a cheaper price than what recycle depot gave me. And to be very clear, he showed up when he said he would, which is better than the other wood chip suppliers I've dealt with in the past. Kept me up-to-date the day of the delivery letting me know when he was loading the trailer, and again when he was leaving to come to my house. Definitely ordering from them again! What a scam operation. If the prices were lower than average I would understand, but it's insane what they charge per half-cord. Some of the highest prices around. Like others have said here, you can't possibly dry out wood by wrapping it up in a plastic bag and leaving it in the sun - and WHITE plastic at that, the color that absorbs the least amount of heat. If you want your firewood in a bag, buy it from the supermarket or a gas station - the cost will end up being comparable, maybe even cheaper (Stewarts' works out to be less expensive, and that wood will actually burn). My delivery of "kiln-dried ash" was soaked at the bottom, and my god, I've never seen so many pregnant wolf spiders in one place. Ignition was terrible. The owner is getting by on shtick. You have several better options in Dutchess County. read more

Should change their name to HumidAssWood. Either their solar kiln wood is just a gimmick and actually locks the moisture in and promotes mold growth on the wood, or as a money grab late in the season they took loose wood and put in the kiln bags to sell at higher price. I placed order for loose wood, but last min the night before was told they were out or their operator got hurt, and they only had the more expensive solar kiln wood. They threw in a bag of the jenga kindling, which is a must because without constantly throwing them in the bottom of the fire, this HumidAssWood would never burn. Nothing like listening to roar of a fire, and the relentless hiss of all that steam escaping from this WetAss, HumidAss wood. Had purchased from them in the past and had decent experience but bags were caked with ice from the rain and the wood was too wet to bu n. This was late in the season so that's my fault. I saw they had covered bags now so thought I'd give them another try. Called a few days ago and got quoted 450$ per bag, so 900$ a cord. I was honestly offended that would think I'm that stupid and/or blatantly rip me off. This is an honest review from someone who isn't related to the owner or one of his buddies. So I won't be using catch phrases or cheesy lines like some of the other reviews. I bought a cord of wood last winter. The owner was extremely nice over the phone, he seemed very hyper and enthusiastic. He spoke very highly of his wood and the whole "solar kiln dried" process. Delivery was fast and the price was pretty cheap compared to what others charge for a cord. When it comes to customer relations and delivery, this place is great. Now the bad part, the actual product. I will add that the owner did tell us that the "solar kiln" wood was sold out and that he was going to sell us a seasoned wood which should be fine to burn for that winter and we shouldn't have any issues. So I can't review the kiln dried wood but I can definitely tell you that the wood we received was garbage. I would've appreciated if the owner had told us he no longer had "solar kiln dried" wood and left it at that, but instead he convinced us to buy wood that wasn't fully dried and burned horribly. To start off, the pieces of wood were HUGE and about 20% was unusable because they wouldn't fit in my wood burning stove. My stove is by no means small either, but the pieces were literally almost twice the size of a regular split piece of wood. The actual wood that we were able to fit in our stove burned very dark and crackled a lot. It created a lot of dark smoke and creosote. I never experienced that level of dirty burning with the other company I used. The wood was extremely difficult to light and did not heat up our home like we expected. It seemed heavy and I believe it wasn't fully dried and had a lot of moisture. As a business owner, I wouldn't sell this wood knowing it's no where near ready to burn. Extremely disappointing experience because I fell for the whole "HotAss" gimmick and all the hype and marketing associated with this subpar wood. I switched back to my previous provider this winter and even tho they are more expensive, I am glad I did. Cleaner burning, nice sized pieces, easy to light and heated the house great without much creosote build up at all. At the end, you get what you pay for. So if you don't mind creosote, low heat, unusable logs and difficulty lighting, then I guess HotAss is the way to go read more

Sold me expensive three $100 bags of face cord, 1/3 cord per bag ( that's $300 per cord of soft pine, plus junk) Never again. I asked that it be off loaded across from my garage but too much trouble to turn his pickup around so he dumped three bags in front of my garage doors before I came outside, blocking my car in the garage until I could get a friend with a tractor to move them out of the way. Never, never again. BTW, I requested 16" to 18" logs to fit in my insert... Nearly half of what he delivered was over 22" and unusable with out a lot of extra work. Never, ever again. A decent cord of split hardwood here in Dutchess County cost about $200 to $225 delivered. So this Hot Ass firewood is not competitive... IMHO. read more

Worst place I ever dealt with for wood pellets. Everything that the owner "D" says is a lie. He says he looses money on every ton of wood pellets he sells then says later that he makes $30 per ton. He says that he is sold out of pellets and he wasn't getting anymore pellets, then a truck load is delivered. He charges $20 if you leave the pallet and plastic wrap behind after you pick up the pellets. I had purchased 3 tons and was loading them in my truck when he came up to me and told me to take the pallets now. Since I have a small half ton truck, I told him I would be coming back as soon as I unload the pellets at home. He got nasty and said loudly your taking them now! He said it's a liability to leave the pallets. I told him I was coming right back to take them..he said your taking them now! I had loaded the three tons in 6 trips then took the pallets away. It only took me a few hours. He is an angry little man. His place has deep mud holes and wood scattered all over the place and he is worried about someone tripping on the pallets I put on the side to take away in 40 minutes! What kind of business man loses money on the product he sells? I am just passing on my experience with dealing with this angry little man. read more
