My husband and I have been here twice now. Our first order was a large one for 6 people and they had it ready in about 20 minutes with no mistakes. Yesterday, we grabbed dinner. Crab rangoons are crispy and cooked to order. Plenty of cream cheese filling. You get 8 for $5; and that's awesome. Lol I've had the beef Mei fun and the Mongolian beef combo (pictured) so far. I subbed the pork fried rice that comes with the dinner combo for plain white rice. The sauce on the Mongolian beef is plenty of flavor and goes well with plain rice in my opinion and keeps the meal light. $8.50 for a meal and eggroll. Cheap and tasty. The beef Mei fun was just alright. I thought it would made from thick noodles but it was thin rice noodles. We'll definitely be frequent flyers. Service is great as well. They are currently still requesting guests to wear masks and they do not have indoor dining yet. read more

This is your typical quick service "asian" cuisine. The restaurant is clean. Once I entered, I was greeted by a friendly staff member. She took my order through a plexiglass setup. The prices were reasonable. After about 15 minutes, my food was ready for pickup. When I got home, the order was what I asked for most of it. The chicken and garlic sauce was different from all the other restaurants with same setup. It did not have any flavor. Kids loved their sweet and sour chicken. Never had bad service, bad food, or a hard time here. Typically prefer getting the a spicy beef or chicken dish with white rice, and they will make the dish spicy if you ask for it. I have eaten here a few times, a d can say I've never had a bad experience. First and foremost, it is close to work so super convenient. Might want to call in your order ahead of time though, it does take a bit for them to make the food. But that is because everything is made fresh and to order. Hot Wok 88 is an excellent Chinese Takeout. They have high quality Chinese American food. Hot Wok 88 is probably the best take out in the Wesley Chapel area. The food is excellent. I would recommend their Mongolian beef and their Singapore chao mei fun. The meat is tender - not chewy like many other takeout places. The rice and egg rolls are both well done - highly recommended if you want to get the combo. The egg rolls are crispy and full of flavor ( not that of a stale cigarette). The rice is also quite nice, fluffy even. The best item is their wanton soup. The broth is sweet and a little salty. Perfect combination! The wantons are phenomenal. Well I've tried several Chinese restaurants near Wesley Chapel, I have found Hot Wok 88 to be reliable and a good value. I wish they had more noodle dishes especially cold sesame noodles and Chow Fun but the lo mein is usually very good and the more expensive specialty items are also very good and a great value. During the past three years that I have been living in WC, I find the current ownership offers the best preparation of the same menu. read more

When it opened a few years ago, the food was pretty consistent and seemed fresh, as cooked-to-order. I thought it was pretty good. Now it appears to have changed owners and cooks. My first ever order of Pu-Pu platter was ok, except for the pork ribs. They were very tough and did not taste freshly made. I trashed them. The chicken dishes seemed fine, but now have a different taste and texture .. not sure what to think of it. I did a carry out around 2: 30 on Christmas day traveling to the frozen orth of the Great Lake State. Grateful to be in the 70s for a day or so I wanted a decent Chinese carryout and a picnic bench for Christmas...Not too much to ask is it? And not being familiar with the area I just drove around and found HW 88 open. Service was pleasant but since it was a holiday the lunch menu was out the window and dinner pricing was in effect, fair enough. So I order the Garlic chicken with an egg roll and drove around the area looking for a picnic bench because it was so nice out. I headed south to 54 or 56 (Costco area) And got trapped at the light then after what seemed like hours I got a green left turn and headed for the empty parking lot of the outlet mall and decided to take my carry out into the open air mall to seek out a bench and some warm weather. With in seconds of placing my bag on a bistro style table , a "mall cop" riding a segway came at me at high speed to escort me off the property as they were closed for the holiday and seemed a bit miffed that he couldn't find the guy who was driving a red car parking in the lot but was pretty happy he was able to keep me from dropping some rice on the cement. So I pack up head to the car and head west toward land o lakes looking for a park but I couldn't find one. I took 41 N to the publix parking lot on the far north part of land o lakes and chowed down .. For all that amount of time probably a half hour or more this carry out was piping hot. And it was darn colorful too, reds and browns and yellows and greens..and tans and it was to put it mildly TASTY.. Unlike most chinese and thai restaurants that screw up the meat by over cooking it, this meat was very tender , moist as well. The only carry out that's come close to this way of cooking chicken is in Metro detroit called "Thai city" in Westland, MI I've had hundreds of chinese meals over my life across the US and the meat in this dish as well as the mushrooms were terrific. The egg roll could have been better, but the main dish was a knockout.! read more

Just ate some takeout from hot wok for the first time and am pleasantly surprised. Our go to Chinese place is further down the road but hot wok is closer to home. It actually may be better than our usual place. We had egg drop soup which was delicious and tasted homemade. Fried chicken wings and shrimp egg rolls, all excellent. General Tso tasted fresh as did the shrimp with lobster sauce. I only wish they used ground pork in the lobster sauce but it was still very good. The coughing girl who took my order at the register was also helping to cook, and she was not covering her face at all as she was coughing right on the food. Another patron asked her if she was sick and she gave an unintelligible answer.
