Super friendly and welcoming location when you order. I always get the chicken and brócoli with the side of fried chicken wings and it never misses. Super flavorful and a nice portion since for me to share with my boo. For the price and the quality, you can't beat it. It kind of reminds me of the Chinese food in NYC. read more

Ordered delivery so I can't comment on the ambiance, but the food was amazing. Prices are great, too

This place is pretty good. They load the boxes/bowls. I really appreciate that. The food is usually out pretty quick too. The service is standard for this type of place, aka subpar. read more

First time going here will definitely be back again. The food has a good level of spice if that's what you're into

Quick service, food was pretty good. So busy but we got our food in a timely manner. Not the best place to sit in and stay at because there aren't much seats, but great for take out. The ambiance was fine, nothing special ! read more

My husband and I have been here twice now. Our first order was a large one for 6 people and they had it ready in about 20 minutes with no mistakes. Yesterday, we grabbed dinner. Crab rangoons are crispy and cooked to order. Plenty of cream cheese filling. You get 8 for $5; and that's awesome. Lol I've had the beef Mei fun and the Mongolian beef combo (pictured) so far. I subbed the pork fried rice that comes with the dinner combo for plain white rice. The sauce on the Mongolian beef is plenty of flavor and goes well with plain rice in my opinion and keeps the meal light. $8.50 for a meal and eggroll. Cheap and tasty. The beef Mei fun was just alright. I thought it would made from thick noodles but it was thin rice noodles. We'll definitely be frequent flyers. Service is great as well. They are currently still requesting guests to wear masks and they do not have indoor dining yet. read more

Consistently good food, big portions, always hot. I mean.. It's takeout chinese.. it's about what you expect. Nothing marvelous, but a staple for my family, and the best chinese take out in the area. read more

Hot Wok has been my go-to Chinese food take-out place for over 15 years, and they are always consistent and super fast (you'll always get the "10 minutes" when ordering over the phone), and the food is delicious. There's simply no need for me to go anywhere else to satisfy my Chinese food cravings, when this place checks all the boxes. read more

This is your typical quick service "asian" cuisine. The restaurant is clean. Once I entered, I was greeted by a friendly staff member. She took my order through a plexiglass setup. The prices were reasonable. After about 15 minutes, my food was ready for pickup. When I got home, the order was what I asked for most of it. The chicken and garlic sauce was different from all the other restaurants with same setup. It did not have any flavor. Kids loved their sweet and sour chicken. The shrimp fried rice was good and the shrimp were not over cooked. I might come back if I just happen to be in the area and having a craving for this type of food. read more

Service was great had sesame seed chicken and pork fried rice for $9.. place seems to be clean taste and quality was great

Never had bad service, bad food, or a hard time here. Typically prefer getting the a spicy beef or chicken dish with white rice, and they will make the dish spicy if you ask for it. I would say if I had to pick a least favorite, it would be the shrimp dishes. We always order this takeout and have even driven for 45 mins before eating and our food was still hot. Great quick Chinese takeout place read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could! Paid over $10 for spare rib tips with no white rice!!! I called and they said oh because it's DoorDash. Called again and asked to Judy deliver white rice ... the said we don't deliver!!!!! Ridiculous!!!!!!! read more

I have been looking for a good Chinese place for a very long time unfortunately I have still yet to find one. That shrimp fried rice the shrimp still had the shell on it. I'm not exactly sure what is going on right now but it appears that all restaurants have forgotten that making food better than what people can make at home is the key to keeping people coming back. Will not eat here again read more

I have eaten here a few times, a d can say I've never had a bad experience. First and foremost, it is close to work so super convenient. Might want to call in your order ahead of time though, it does take a bit for them to make the food. But that is because everything is made fresh and to order. I'm a huge General Tso's fan, and the dish here is fantastic! The chicken is cooked just right, not too hard like some places tend to do. Their eggrolls are the bomb! read more

Hot Wok 88 is an excellent Chinese Takeout. They have high quality Chinese American food. Hot Wok 88 is probably the best take out in the Wesley Chapel area. The food is excellent. I would recommend their Mongolian beef and their Singapore chao mei fun. The meat is tender - not chewy like many other takeout places. The rice and egg rolls are both well done - highly recommended if you want to get the combo. The egg rolls are crispy and full of flavor ( not that of a stale cigarette). The rice is also quite nice, fluffy even. The best item is their wanton soup. The broth is sweet and a little salty. Perfect combination! The wantons are phenomenal. Wonderfully sized, excellent fillings ,the meat is extremely delicious - these are a work of art! Go try Hot Wok 88 out - worth your time and your tastebuds will thank you. read more

Not sure why the rating isn't better here. It's fast food Chinese at its best. Call in your order and within 10 minutes pick it up. Doesn't get any better than that. Oh yes, the quality of the food... Well my wife is a picky eater and she loves it! I have had numerous good meals here so 4 stars for now. Always leave room for improvement. I suggest you at least try it!! read more

See pictures. I think this is self explanatory. This literary came straight out the bowl like this. What a shame because it smelled good. This is disgusting and I will not be ordering from this restaurant ever again. Sucks for them because I am a local resident. Using HotWok88 for at least 5+ years. Never an issue. This is our 1st choice for Chinese takeout. Chicken cashew nuts is our favorite. Good portions and good value. Recommended read more

I'm pretty fussy as far as Chinese restaurants looking for and as I was born and raised in New York and had many many great restaurants to choose from. Well I've tried several Chinese restaurants near Wesley Chapel, I have found Hot Wok 88 to be reliable and a good value. I wish they had more noodle dishes especially cold sesame noodles and Chow Fun but the lo mein is usually very good and the more expensive specialty items are also very good and a great value. During the past three years that I have been living in WC, I find the current ownership offers the best preparation of the same menu. read more

Friendly staff, quick, local, and convenient. Food is always good. Definitely rec the beef lo mein

First & last time we will eat there. I got the chicken & cashew combo meal. No taste what so ever. Chicken did not even taste like chicken, fried rice tasted nothing like fried rice. Egg roll terrible. Threw the rest of mine in the garbage. read more

Best Chinese food. Quick. The dishes are always fresh, quick and hot. We usually have left overs for days. Yum. Reasonably priced for the large portion. If you are in Wesley chapel it is great take out for lunch or dinner. read more

Great generic Chinese fare, but somewhat inconsistent. Some days they'll be the best place to get Chinese dood, other days the food will be bland. Most days it's just nice lazy takeout food. Lunch specials are cheap too. read more

Been coming here for quite a while. Food is always served quickly and the staff is friendly! The steamed dumplings are great!

When it opened a few years ago, the food was pretty consistent and seemed fresh, as cooked-to-order. I thought it was pretty good. Now it appears to have changed owners and cooks. My first ever order of Pu-Pu platter was ok, except for the pork ribs. They were very tough and did not taste freshly made. I trashed them. The chicken dishes seemed fine, but now have a different taste and texture .. not sure what to think of it. Too bad, it is no longer the original owners and cooks, as we will not be going back. read more

If you don't actually deliver, then you should probably take that off your features.....

Got the General Tso's chicken and boneless spare ribs. Chicken was basically a couple big "gobs" of underfried mess. It was not crunchy at all. The predominant flavor was salt, other flavor was SALT. Nothing like the same meal I can get within a mile of this place. Won't return. read more

Hit or miss. We've tried almost every item on the menu. Sometimes it's amazing, i.e. Chicken and broccoli but then the rice was undercooked and hard. Chicken wings were amazing a couple months ago but now there's an overwhelming turmeric flavor and smell. read more

Food is okay. It is edible and a fair price enough for everyone to eat on the budget.

Solid "NY Style" Chinese food. The owner is super friendly and accommodating. Even made me "panfried wontons in garlic sauce" which is a dish common in NYC but not anywhere else! read more

I did a carry out around 2: 30 on Christmas day traveling to the frozen orth of the Great Lake State. Grateful to be in the 70s for a day or so I wanted a decent Chinese carryout and a picnic bench for Christmas...Not too much to ask is it? And not being familiar with the area I just drove around and found HW 88 open. Service was pleasant but since it was a holiday the lunch menu was out the window and dinner pricing was in effect, fair enough. So I order the Garlic chicken with an egg roll and drove around the area looking for a picnic bench because it was so nice out. I headed south to 54 or 56 (Costco area) And got trapped at the light then after what seemed like hours I got a green left turn and headed for the empty parking lot of the outlet mall and decided to take my carry out into the open air mall to seek out a bench and some warm weather. With in seconds of placing my bag on a bistro style table , a "mall cop" riding a segway came at me at high speed to escort me off the property as they were closed for the holiday and seemed a bit miffed that he couldn't find the guy who was driving a red car parking in the lot but was pretty happy he was able to keep me from dropping some rice on the cement. So I pack up head to the car and head west toward land o lakes looking for a park but I couldn't find one. I took 41 N to the publix parking lot on the far north part of land o lakes and chowed down .. For all that amount of time probably a half hour or more this carry out was piping hot. And it was darn colorful too, reds and browns and yellows and greens..and tans and it was to put it mildly TASTY.. Unlike most chinese and thai restaurants that screw up the meat by over cooking it, this meat was very tender , moist as well. The only carry out that's come close to this way of cooking chicken is in Metro detroit called "Thai city" in Westland, MI I've had hundreds of chinese meals over my life across the US and the meat in this dish as well as the mushrooms were terrific. The egg roll could have been better, but the main dish was a knockout.! read more

The food was great. I had the General's Tso chicken and my husband had the beef and mushrooms. The food was hot and fresh and tasted great. I will come back for sure. We got a lot of food for less than $6 each with the lunch special. It's not a fancy place, mainly for take out but we ate in they have 4 tables in the restaurant. read more

Just ate some takeout from hot wok for the first time and am pleasantly surprised. Our go to Chinese place is further down the road but hot wok is closer to home. It actually may be better than our usual place. We had egg drop soup which was delicious and tasted homemade. Fried chicken wings and shrimp egg rolls, all excellent. General Tso tasted fresh as did the shrimp with lobster sauce. I only wish they used ground pork in the lobster sauce but it was still very good. This may be our new takeout place from now on. read more

The coughing girl who took my order at the register was also helping to cook, and she was not covering her face at all as she was coughing right on the food. Another patron asked her if she was sick and she gave an unintelligible answer. I am normally very shy but I had to speak out and tell her I did not want her coughing on my food and she said ok I will have other guy cook. If I hadn't paid with a debit card, I would've asked for a refund and left. But we got the food and took it back to our room , and it was very mediocre. Threw most of it out. read more

This place is fantastic! The restaurant is very clean. The staff is awesome and the food is epic! Deffinately my go to Chinese spot!

Today (12-21-18) I was a first time customer. Ordered Shrimp Egg Too young, Chicken and Broccoli, and Shrimp Fried Rice, and Pork egg rolls. Bland is the best thing I can say for everything. Wife put chicken back in container and refuses to have any more. For $35.00 I was expecting FLAVOR. Will not be back. One star is being generous. read more
