It looked okay when styled in the salon, but once I got home it was obvious how uneven, awkward, choppy, and over-thinned one side had become. My hair no longer falls naturally or smoothly, and the ends now look frayed and damaged rather than cleanly cut. I have honestly never been this dissatisfied with a haircut before. I ended up having to go to another stylist to try to fix it, and even they told me there's only so much that can be corrected right now without taking off even more length. I was advised not to cut my hair again for several months so it can grow back enough density to reshape properly. I also think clients should be clearly warned before razor cutting or aggressive texturizing techniques are used, especially on very fine hair, since many people may not realize how dramatically it can change the texture and density of the cut. If you have very fine hair, I would strongly recommend being extremely cautious about razor cutting or aggressive texturizing techniques.

I have been going to Kelly for waxing services for almost 10 years. She was the first person and the last person I will go to for waxing. I have heard horror stories from other women, and I am so grateful I have never had a bad waxing experience. I started going to Kelly when she was in Nevada City, and I immediately loved her. We did a consultation over the phone, and she answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. Her office in Nevada City and now in Grass Valley is immediately warming, tranquil, and comforting from the moment you walk in the door. Kelly's personality is one of a kind and when I have an appointment with her, we are pretty much laughing the entire time. I love her! She is extremely professional, prompt, and truly a master of her craft. The office is ALWAYS perfectly clean and tidy. All of the products she uses are top of the line. She is fast and efficient while still making you laugh through the whole appointment. Her brow work is INCREDIBLE! My brows have NEVER looked better. She has reshaped mine to literal works of art. She also offers sugaring which we eventually switched to for parts of my waxes. She will spend extra time specifically to make your skin healthier. She does not half-ass anything! If you have specific requests, she will tailor your waxing to fit your exact desires. If you have sensitive skin or are prone to ingrowns, Kelly will figure it out and leave your skin better than it was when you walked in! Being super sensitive to pain, I was very leery about a bikini wax, but it just had to be done. Kelly took great care of me. She was calming, and SO fast, I barely even realized what was going on before it was over! That was the first visit. I know I'm a hairy on my back, but, Kelly, I think took under 45 min for both my back and chest. including me filling out forms. I called one popular shop on East Main, but, despite promises, no one returned my calls . Luckily, I spotted Essentials Salon in the shopping center off of McKnight, then read a very favorable review of the owner's work the next day on Yelp. I called Linda, warning that she would have a challenge ahead of her, and reported to her modern, self-designed shop two days later. (Easy parking near eateries and shops was a welcome bonus.) Although she tried to hide it, Linda must have been as shocked at my appearance as I was, because she dropped her lunch, reached for her camera, and asked my permission to take an anonymous "rear view" photo. Quickly, she got to work--snipping, coloring, and styling, while keeping me hydrated with sliced strawberries floating in refreshingly cold water. Linda has a natural way with color (she got it right on the first try), but her very special talent is sculpting adorable, easy - to -maintain cuts that even Edward Scisserhands would envy! She gives her clients her complete attention, producing exquisitely chic results. When all was said and done, she spun me around to reveal a multi-dimensional view and whipped out her camera once again. This time, with my permission, she photographed the result of her efforts. We agreed that the most appropriate title for the second photo had to be "An Amazing Transformation!"
