I love Hot Topic and not just because I was an employee for several years at a location in Southern California. I went in because I had lost my paperwork for my Hot Topic credit card and it was difficult to try over the phone with IT support so I went in person. Besides being dog friendly ( which is another bonus in our beautiful coastline town) the employees are always knowledgeable and friendly, as well being accommodating to my Pup. I believe Tracey was the young woman and manager on duty who solved my problem super quickly. ( I mean like 2 shakes of a lamb's tail quickly). The paperwork I had lost, she reissued, as well as I was able to make a purchase with a temporary card that day. Thank you to Tracey and the staff as a whole. Whoa... didn't know Del Monte had a Hot Topic (I've been MIA from Del Monte for several years...) and had not been in one since high school! I used to love going to Hot Topic and I remember I'd have to drive to San Jose (Valley Fair -that is how I remember them aka Westfield Mall and Valco Mall is it, nearby?) or Santa Cruz to Capitola Mall... Anyways, I was putzing around in Verizon but I had a crazy issue tonight and ran in and found some lovely teal nail polish which may look lovely on my toes when I tan my butt off hopefully before summer time. Hot Top still features a plethora of rock and gothic gear although I didn't know how the HK (Hello Kitty) Movement got so popular over the years. Eerie to me as Hello Kitty used to be part of the "kawaii" or cute culture in Japan... it's now Goth Hello Kitty... Very interesting. Any ways, they had a pretty solid selection of black and colorful corsets hanging on the women's clothing wall and love those thigh high fishnets (there were a nice variety) perfect for some naughty sexy time for that special V-day celebration or everyday, anyday... The gentleman manning the shop was super nice and adorable. Although this place is not up my alley anymore (in regards to everyday clothing), I think of Hot Topic and it makes me nostalgic and reminds me of all the good times in high school. It is an ok store. My brother, my friends, and I use to think this place was the place from the Devil. Then i saw some cool shirts in the window figured id give it a try. The workers are kind of odd(not who i would choose to hang out with). I like coming here for the cool shirts they have every once in a while... other than that i kinda stay away. Its ok. read more

Terrible customer service. I ordered two shirts from their website. One shirt was way too big, was more of a XXL then an XL. The other shirt had a very blurry design. I called the store and was told over the phone that I could return them in the store. I gave her the product numbers of the items, she looked them up, and she said it was okay. I drove to the store, and prefer not to go shopping due to the pandemic, and when I get there I'm told that I can not return them in person and because they are "print on demand" orders and they can not return them. 1) The return policy on their website does not indicate this at all. 2) The receipt I was given in my shipment says I can return them within 30 days. "Stores will accept your unwashed, unused items within 30 days of purchase." 3) Honor the word of your staff! 4) Instead I have to drive home and print out my own shipping label because they failed to put one in my order. read more

I was in the store for probably about 10 or 20 minutes, not one of the employees greeted me, or even acknowledged my presence. When I asked a question to the tall guy with the green beard kinda seemed like he just didn't want to be bothered. On top of the lack of customer service, there isn't a whole lot of selection, and not all the shirts are where their label is. You're better off going elsewhere read more

Came in a few days ago to buy a skirt for Halloween. I waited in line while the woman behind the register had a lengthy (at least five minutes) personal conversation with the customer ahead of me. It was totally unprofessional and rude but I decided to wait patiently as I wasn't in a rush. When it was finally my turn to check out the woman was less than friendly. No smile, no "hello", no "thanks for waiting, nothing. I don't know what l did to receive such dismal service, as she had just been having a friendly conversation with the person ahead of me. She actually gave me a dirty look after I told her I didn't have a rewards program membership with them. Seems like she thought she could get away with treating me poorly because I'm not your typical Hot Topic shopper & she doubted that I would come back or care enough to leave a bad review. And honestly, her bad attitude and condescending demeanor didn't phase me, some people are just jerks. I had forgotten about the whole thing until I returned home with my purchase I noticed she forgot to take the security tag off. Maybe if she had been more focused on her job and less on rolling her eyes she would have remembered. Had to go all the way back to the store today to get it removed. The person who removed the tag was, again, unwelcoming and rude. Didn't even smile or apologize for the mistake and the inconvenience. Every other time I've visited this location the staff has been friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what changed. In my opinion being a moderately polite individual is pretty easy and if you work in retail it is the most important part of your job. read more

Best customer service at any hot topic I've ever been to. I usually hate going into these stores but the staff here is great.

Nice staff, OK prices.... always use my frequent buyer card 15% off :) small store but nice variety!
