She made conversation and I could tell her and the other guy she was working with are best friends, Even though the shirts are a bit pricy, like the shirt I got was $24, I always found myself very satisfied and wore those shirts out A LOT. I was psyched because now he will have a Baja blast pajama bottoms and shirt for a Christmas present. I ordered the shirt with a $5 off which Hazel let me know I had and she made sure I got free shipping from the store. I have been shopping at the Hot Topic in the North Point Mall in Alpharetta for years. I'm probably no longer their target audience, but I've always enjoyed black Rock N Roll t-shirts, and this store definitely has a great selection. I used to spend a lot of time looking through their clearance racks and finding hidden gems. I have not had the best of luck finding classic rock or metal shirts in 2XL on the clearance racks in the last few years. Instead, I have taken advantage of their Black Friday $12 t-shirt sale the last few years. It appears as though nearly all of their t-shirts are $12 from the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving through midnight on Black Friday. Last year, I was able to order all of my shirts on line and pick them up at any store of my choice. I bought 4 t-shirts last year and picked all of them up at this Hot Topic in Alpharetta. This year, I was disappointed to find that none of the shirts I liked were available for pick up at the North Point Mall location. The website said that they were only available at the Kennesaw location. However, after I made my purchase online, I then received an email telling me that some of my shirts were already out-of-stock - - Big Disappointment! So, I gave up on the online ordering process and simply drove to the Hot Topic in Alpharetta. I was pleasantly surprised to find ALL of the shirts I wanted in stock. I also discovered a few that I never knew about, such as a classic black shirt with a white design of Edgar Allan Poe. I'll definitely continue coming back to this store whenever I'm looking for Rock N Roll shirts. I just hope that the mall survives for years to come. read more

This Hot Topic is the best one around the metro area. Great selection, good folks that work here and the store is nicely lay out. I use to be a fan of Hot Topic and liked all of their fandom merchandise. Then something happened. I don't know if it's because the store sorta fell out of sorts or what have you but I just didn't like it anymore...Fast forward a few years...they seem to have woken up and got themselves sorted out of the funk that they fell into. Whether it's Game of Thrones or Sherlock or T-shirts that insults the reader; With a healthy stock of Funko dolls and great plush selection of Pusheen the cat...they seem to have a little something for everyone. The employees are nice here too and are always willing to help you find whatever off character you might be obsessed with for the moment.... I recently visited this location looking for something in particular. Upon checking out, the employee Maves handed my sister the first bag. She went outside and I completed payment on the pin pad as she bagged the second bag of items. She realizes my sister has left the store and has her co worker chase my sister down and come back while she finishes.. That was ridiculous enough, as what am I going to do steal what I just paid for? Way to thank me for spending hundreds of dollars in your store! Then the employee Maves, makes a snide comment about how she will keep the first bag with her behind the register until she's done. I told her she could feel free to return my money and put all of it back, but shockingly she had nothing to say. I won't be back but great way to run your business! read more

Save yourself the trip and just shop online. The associates here have no quarrels with yelling at you from across the store so everyone can hear. You'd think that people whose jobs are as a risk as mall employees would be more courteous and considerate to their in-store shoppers. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places when I was younger, I was that edgy teenager and my friends and I came here after school sometimes. I was with some of my school friends and a girl who was a little younger than us. I was in this Hot Topic when I said this too, I said it twice actually because I thought my friends didn't hear me. This woman who worked there, looked like she couldn't be one or two years older than my friends and I, yelled at us "if you don't like it then you can leave." Naturally I was confused at first and I asked why, she repeated. She sounded very angry and aggressive towards us. Since we didn't feel like getting yelled at for something that we had no idea we did, we left. I called back later after going to a store, because it was still on my mind. A kind gentleman was trying to sort this out and said we were welcome back, of course we did. They realized I was the one who called and addressed me. They explained themselves and I simply responded with "it's not acceptable to yell at your customers." I would've been okay with them being upset at us if we were more than 5 feet in the door and they addressed us beforehand to please stop making comments in that manner. I would've been satisfied with the apology if the woman, whose name is Abby, wasn't glaring at me still while having the same rude tone of voice at me and my friends. She said sorry, but she added a "but" and kept defending herself as if we were in middle school and eventually she stormed off. I took the apology, saying it was okay, since my friends and I wanted to get on with life and celebrate a birthday together. My younger friend said she was traumatized since she's typically a sweetheart and I've never known her to do anything wrong, she just wanted a button for her bag. I feel like they should consider hiring more mature staff because I've had multiple experiences like this at this store, however none of them were as extreme as this woman's outburst. Other than the staff, the establishment is organized and well kept. The prices are a tad high for me, but they do have sales that help and give some good prices on certain items. I would love to come and spend more money here for merchandise in my room, but I will have to go to another Hot Topic due to the rude and unwelcoming staff here. I hated having to call back to the store because I know retail is difficult, but I simply don't think that was acceptable. (This happened in 04/27) read more

If you need to purchase a gift for a Goth, a sci-fi fan, or someone who has body piercings, this is a cool store to visit. Their tees are buy one, get one 50% off and they have Dr. Who, Dragon Ball Z, Vintage Star Trek and other options. For those who have piercings, they have body jewelry and for those who just like that skater dude vibe, (real or imagined), they have suitable clothing for your sense of style. Went to get a gift for my friend the other day and the cashier had a problem with the register... as someone who personally uses one everyday at my job I totallyyyy understood and told him "no worries take your time"... 5 mins pass... then 10... and so on. Keep in mind the register next to me was open. They should have taken me at the other register, but instead took 5 other guests while I stood there for 17 mins looking at the cashier in front of me frantically try to call his boss... Then in mist of all this chaos.. another customer comes in and says she ordered a shirt online and needed to pick it up.. at this point, there store was already closed for 1 minute or 2 and the employee rudely says " were closed sorry" a few times when he LITERALLY just had to hand her a tshirt she already paid for.. anyways she ended up walking out super sad and defeated.. back to me , so after the cashier at the working register finished their long line of customers I said " Is there anyway you could please just check me out on this register?" They didn't even think of it.. Im a customer. I shouldn't have to come up with solutions for them, especially one as painfully obvious as that one. I ended up not saying anything to them about it, and regret it. They need to learn from this and grow read more
