Everything cheap you could want. I've stopped twice for odd items and they had exactly what I needed both times. Can't beat that.

The name says it all. At "Hot Bargain" (which usually takes about 9 or 10 of your hot dollars to…read morefind something good) you can get a number of great items at bargain prices. I know there are a bunch of dollar stores around selling all kinds of goods from overseas for cheap, but this place is my local one and always has something that I might need (a U.S. electrical converter, Australia souvenirs or hangers). Usually it's just random items that I might want to save a couple of dollars on, but it's fun to go in and see what they have in stock (since they are right by the news agency that I go to anyways). I've found electrical extension cords and multiple plug outlets to a pair of cotton gloves and a pack of black socks for my fiancé (he didn't do laundry and just needed some right away). Everything I've bought there works just fine and I get that it's not Myer or Harvey Norman, but who cares...it's Hot Bargain!

They have LOADS of miscellaneous, mostly beach-related items, like thongs, beach umbrellas, sunglasses, towels, sunscreen, and lots of unrelated items like t-shirts, postcards, and the like. I'm pretty sure I also saw a few massive floating horses, the kind that kids ride in pools. Not sure how well they'd fare in the waves, though... And it's ALL fantastically cheap. So cheap, that I actually fear for the quality of it all... but so far my new thongs have served me well, so we're probably okay on that front.

During…read moreOctober they had a really awesome Halloween display set up, with moving skeleton butlers, creepy crawlies, light up jack O lanterns and all things gooey. A friend of mine was on the look out for a decent Halloween costume (the theme was under the sea), and they had two entire aisles dedicated to props, costumes and novelties with every little detail to make her costume that much better. It's much better than your average variety store, with organised aisles (where everything is actually hanging and not on the floor), and pieces that you might actually consider buying. There's everything available for hen's night parties, costume parties and kids parties - not to mention the props they have for everything in between. Four stars for the range of products available.

Having been invited to a Halloween birthday, I required a costume that was rather cheap. Would definitely recommend to those who are on a budget or are simply looking for cheap costumes!

Oh, I have to mention that there are another Asian products, too, here. Why I give 4 stars instead of 5? Because I have to wait for a long time to check out, always long ques. If they add more cashiers I will give them 5 out of 5!

They are also seasonal and support every single holiday that comes around. I go in and buy superglue ($2 for five tubes), baskets, gift wrapping and cards - they are cheaper than the supermarket and newsagents. Sometimes I just go in and look. It is surprising how much stuff they can fit in the shop, there's not much room to move. Starting as a single shop front, they soon took over the shop next door and doubled their size. I'm waiting to see what they do next. Excellent value and lots of fun.

It was totally in my price range. I was greeted by an amazing tall blonde modelesque sales assistant who was very friendly and asked if I needed any help. Walmart most probably thought that Australia was too far and decided not to open a Walmart on the continent. This Kmart was still old school with two entrances on each side but the positive was they had a lot of self check out counters for the shoppers. As you entered the left side of the store was dedicated to home supplies while the right side of the store had clothing for adults and kids. If you know that Kmart sells what you are looking for it's a perfect place to be in and out but alternatively it is definitely not a place where you can find everything for your home like a Walmart or target. Also another issue is that the store defies doesn't have enough lighting or employees and the store feels cramped with no space in the aisles.

This is where you would go if you had to start from scratch…read more The shop occupies an enviable corner location and is as big as three regular shops. It is also right at the top of the shopping strip. In a lower room (just a couple of steps down) is furniture. Good quality lounges, wardrobes, shelves and desks for example. In an ante room was men's and kids clothing, and also women's sleep attire and dresses. Toys were in there as well. A good number of tracks contained the men gear. Denim, trousers, jackets, shirts, tees, ties, belts... There must have been about 100 women's shoes. Half of the main room was also women's shirts only. More space was then dedicated to jackets, costs, tips, belts, scarves, bags and even wedding dresses. Books galore, DVDs, CDs, even Vhs. Vinyl. A back wall houses the house hold items. Everything from dinner sets to decorations. Then there were buckets of bits. For example, one bucket contained button sets (the ones you'd buy at the supermarket). Jewellery as well. I got op shop fatigue in there. Prices were extremely good. I picked up two fashion dresses for $8 a piece.
