Secret underground pop-up designer fashion laboratory alert!…read more (That would make a great Japanese cartoon title.) So you know Westfield Pitt St Mall ain't your average Westfield, right? That's it's designed and planned and decorated to within an inch of its life and is chock full of hella cool shops and eateries and all the things that get your little urban commando hearts beating faster then your average hipster. Well head down the escalators, ya big ol' fashionista, because there's another surprise for ya: on the below-ground level and there you'll find a concept store called 100 Squared that gets a whole bunch of amazing, emerging local fashion designers and collects them all in one place for your shopping pleasure. It's like the king of all pop-ups, curated for style and quality. And the best bit? It's a place for the new generation of fashion talent, all these great up-and-comers, to show off their mad sick skillz. Love it.

I had the opportunity to get invited to a Yelp hosted party here, and came out of interested…read more 100 Squared is definitely a breath of fresh air for Westfield, which is a shopping mecca for all the common brands (Zara, Gucci, Gap, etc). Instead of focusing on brand names, this is basically a marketplace/bazaar for independent designers who want another channel to showcase their products. I'm not a fashion designer myself, but I'm also a designer - just from a more digital perspective. I can relate to the "not work for the man" part so I like this place a lot because it gives another outlet for independents or small businesses to hustle their wares. So 5 stars for this place because it supports small business / independents. Anyway, there are clothes (women's fashion), and jewelry. But beware that the clothing sizes are more designed for "hipster" sizes. (i.e. if you're beyond say a size 10 or Medium - result of having a vegan or soy milk diet, then theres probably nothing for you here other than jewelry). But then again, theres even less for guys unless you're into cross-dressing at hipster sizes. PS - 300th Review!!!

Best designer shop in Sydney. You honestly could be in any major design savvy city in the world,…read moreand this beautiful shop would still be hard to beat. I've had the most wonderful customer service, and the gifts through to the art and furniuture is first class, and really quite unique. They're always doing something different, so you can pop in regularly and still be suprised.

I can't find my camera. I left it somewhere and I don't know where. Calling around to the places…read moreI visited, I contacted the store manager at Becker Minty, Woollahra. He was the most helpful man and even though he didn't see it in the shop he was going to contact the worker who was there the day before and call me back (all of this not even knowing if I left it in his store or not). I eventually found my camera and contacted the store manager thanking him for his efforts. The store itself is situated in the courtyard where patrons of Bills are dining. A sister store to there location in Potts Point, this store is much more compact, but has a great variety of beautiful items. I've purchased a couple of gifts here and there unique selection of items and beautiful gift wrapping make it such a great place to get one of a kind item gifts. The last time I was there I was looking at a selection of beautiful designed silk scarves. The store manager pulled out a number of designs for me to see and we had some fun trying different styles and colours. There is always such a great vibe about this store and the staff is helpful without being pushy or salesman-like. If you are on the look out for a sophisticated and unique gift for someone or just want to find something to pamper yourself, Becker Minty is a great place to look.

As the call-back was not forthcoming,I called again. This time the employee said she would have to call Rita at the warehouse and call me back.Call me back she did, telling me that the shoes in question were not in stock, that the boss was back from Italy and that he would refund me the money the next day. That conversation took place on January 16th.Today,02/02/15,I went to the bank to get my charges reversed. The beautiful shopfront and sheer scale of this sprawling Double Bay store implies $$$, but his…read moreplace is surprisingly wall to wall of great bargains on imported Italian shoes. I've invested in everything from sparkly stilettos to everyday winter boots for not much more than $100, but the red soles on my particular purchases imply a lot more value! Men and women are both well and truly covered, and the walls are lined with a fine selection of leather handbags - one for every shoe. Staff are helpul, patient and accommodating - all the ingredients one needs when in the market for shoes, and clearly the recipe is working because I just spotted another outlet on Balmain's Darling Street. Keep an eye out for massive discounts on designer brands. I once invested in a pair of Roberto Cavalli gold heeled stilettos at a rock bottom price of $300... down from $950. They fitted like Cinderella's slipper. If you couldn't be bothered physically getting to Casanovas, head online and let your fingers to the shopping. The family run business sees the husband and wife owners travel back to Italy 4 times a year in search of the best buys in line with fashion trends. So now everyone can sport European chic without burning a hole in the wallet. Hooray.
