They have a fried cheese appetizer that is to die for. They have about 20 burgers on the menu all with local flavors...and they will hold the ingredients or make you a custom burger too. Burgers start around 8 euro and come loaded and with fries. With bottles of wine around 15 euro, this is a fantastic and fun place. Go for the burgers. Stay for the service. Wandered through many winding and hilly side streets to locate this iconic corner joint!…read more It was worth it! Ordering is from a window and there is a lineup - even just before closing. It has character with cobblestoned streets and outdoor restaurant patios nearby. The bifanas are exceptional but pirri pirri sauce and mustard is required to give it that zing. Splash it on! The bun is fresh and delicious baked perfectly. If you come to Lisbon, do not leave without trying this establishment!

It's a tiny takeout-only counter, but the lines can get very long here. When I arrived, it was mid-afternoon, so only about five or so people. They're very quick with the food as well - I got mine, the classic one (no cheese), about a minute after ordering. The sandwich overall was pretty good. It's not meant to be a full meal - more like a snack or a breakfast type - it's not very large. The pork is alright, but a little tough. It's not very juicy, as there are certain parts that feel leather-ish. It did grow on me as I kept eating though, and towards the end I started to like it more. The bread is actually quite good; crispy on the top and yet the hollowed-out inside stays fluffy. They have mustard and chili oil on a side table for you to add - and this is much needed. The moisture from these helps so much with the sandwich, and especially the mustard just adds that different flavor that prevents it from being just plain pork. Oh yeah, and it's super cheap - at just 3 euros. Overall, it's not amazing food, but for how cheap it is it gets the job done. 8/10

Whatever was in the sauce really added a lot to it too. The fries had a nice little addition of rosemary which complemented them nicely. While these burgers are expensive, they're up there with the best burger I've had. So I think it's definitely worth it!

Following a great experience getting a haircut at Barbiero Gil (please reference my review if…read moreinterested), my wife and I headed to Selllva to have a late morning adult beverage (one of the many thing Ms that I love about vacation). After having a drink we figured that we should get some food in our systems before heading to Museo Calouste Gulbenkian. In route to the museum we came across Ground Burguer. Being that we had been eating mainly Portuguese food for the past 2.5 weeks (which was absolutely delicious), we were stoked to find an American themed burger joint. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a friendly employee at the front door area. He quickly sat us and provided menus. Since my wife and I often have similar taste, we both ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with French fries. To wash down the burger, I ordered the Vila Prazeres Raspberry Sour Portuguese beer. Less than 15 minutes later our orders were being delivered to our table. My wife and I both quickly devoured our burgers (you know it's good when you barely stop eating to talk), along with the delicious fries (the garlic mayo dipping sauce is bomb)! I must add that the burger bun alone is delightful. Although I'm not a beer person, I found the Raspberry Sour beer to be deliciously refreshing. If you're looking for an American style burger that to satisfy your appetite, I highly recommend Ground Burguer!
