I have worked at the Home Depot that is right across from the stand for a little over 2 years now, and have tried the food here quite often. The food is consistently good. They offer a unique variety of toppings - many of which I would have never guessed went so well together until I tried it from this stand. Their drink selection is also GOLD - from cream soda to Arizona Green Tea. Miss Gina, who is usually running the stand, incredibly hard-working and it is both easy and fun to chat with her! I have seen her work through the hottest of days, windiest and coldest of days, and alone on very busy days. read more

Unreliable and inconsiderate. I drove miles out of my way on a Saturday at Noon to try this fabled hot dog stand (which is supposed to be in front of the Home Depot on 6880 W. Food is ok But my main reason for this low score is the customer service of the lady working the stand on July 9th was very grumpy . I ordered 1 chili dog and 1 cheese dog . This is not what I got . Most delicious Hot Dogs was a nice experience for my girls to get a fresh delicious hot dog from an old fashioned style. Gentleman making the dogs is old school. He has 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren, his oldest is 51 and the youngest is 15. He can guess the ages of your girls and has plenty of fun stories about his own to relate All hot dog's are 100 % beef, all products he uses in made in the USA, and he is very proud of it all sodas are in glass bottles and made with cane sugar. All his ingredients are free of high fructose/corn syrup which is why he only uses mustard and not ketchup. It was super refreshing to a good old fashioned american old-timer chat my girls and I up, he enjoys taking the kids orders as much as adults, and finds joy in making sure you get a delicious hot dog. I loved fetching the drinks from the food truck coolers- my girls thought it was so cool. He thoughtfully wrapped the dogs up for my 5 year old so she wouldn't drop and extra wrapped for mine and my husband since we were eating on the go. This also could be called the No No No Dog....when my husband and I went for a hot dog....the guy making them put the hot dogs up into a rack and hubby went to pick up to eat it ....dog dude said NO you can't eat it here!!! Hubby put dog back NO you can't put it back!! What!!! It's the Heath Dept that will issue a citation, never heard such a thing....have you ever heard of a hot dog stand not having ketchup? This place does not have ketchup. NO KETCHUP! Next group of customers...one was using a cell phone....dog dude said NO you can't use your cell phone in this No cell phone area!....What?!?!? Dog dude also chastised a customer for almost putting trash into bottle waste container..instead of a trash waste container... the poorest customer attitude ever..... On a lighter note....the hot dogs were delicious! Three stars for hot dogs. Needless to say, I will not return to this stand unless the person running it has vacated it. read more

Surprising that no one has ever put a review on this biz being that it has been a staple at the Home Depot at 67th and Bell in Glendale, AZ for the past 30 or so years. Great setup and delicious food, but overall the customer experience really turned me off. The owner is a retired gentleman who has a nonchalant approach to helping customers with a very pointed way of correcting customers. I'm not sure if he even realizes that he does it but after being corrected and scolded 3 times in one sitting.....I had to provide some feedback. My son and I were getting something at the Home Depot, and I think like most, it's lunch time and your heading back to your car, you can't deny the smells. So we indulged. There were two people in front of us, and it struck me that the gentlemen in front of me was being corrected about the type of buns this owner uses (poppyseed) and the conversation seemed to die after that interaction. On to us, my son wanted a kids dog with ketchup, I was shown the condiments that he had with a sign that had the list, ketchup not being one of them. Okay, so improvise, most kids want ketchup, I made due with what he had. No explanation, on to me, I'd like a Chicago dog with everything on it... he corrected me saying they are all Chicago so what type of dog did I want, okay, once again made the correction and said type and what I wanted on it. On to drinks, I'll take two...he asked what kind, I said I could find them, he said I'd rather know so I can tell you where they are in the bins so your not keeping the bins open for those that didn't need to be open, correction again....Sale was done. We sat down to eat, my son spilled a little drink on his shirts so I got up quick to grab some extra napkins, I reached for some and he waived my hand away like I was an infant and said that would be a health code violation....being corrected again. The next few customers he helped, it was a similar story....like I said, I don't think he realizes he does it. I found out he doesnt carry ketchup as some kind of personal PR marketing ploy that "ketchup carries too much sugar, and he's trying to share with the masses of its terrible cause to obesity in the world"......really?! You sell hot dogs, like they are any better for you. Lastly, going back to the waiving my hand away, health code violation....not even two customers later, this owner let 3 little league kids behind his cooking area to see where the dogs go, etc. Just interesting, not a good experience, and unless your looking to be treated like a child or like being catered to as an idiot you might want to save your money and grab something else where the attendants just give you what you order and don't make you feel stupid. read more
