Jefferson and his crew are honest and hard workers. They did spring clean up and mulching in both my front and back yard (0.3 acres). I am very happy with their work. I note that others gave him low ratings because his communication wasn't stellar, especially letting people know if he's running late etc. While I did encounter that to some extent, I recognize that sometimes it might be difficult to be 100% up on administrative aspects at the same time that you're doing hard and backbreaking manual labor. All of that can be overlooked by the fact that Jefferson has the rare quality of not trying to rip people off. His price was fair and he earned every penny of it. I recommend Horticulture Masterpiece, specifically Jefferson, highly. read more

They came to give me a quote. Quick, professional and responsive. I did not use their service so I can not review their work but the customer service was great. read more

Mr. Jefferson from Horticulture Masterpiece did a fantastic job in my yard! So much so that my neighbor hired him immediately. Her yard is getting done twenty-four hours after mine. I intend to have him come as needed for its upkeep. My front yard is such a pleasure to look at now. Thanks so much, Sir. read more

Very unprofessional. Was asked to trim some very high holly bushes. Asked for money upfront. Thank god I did not sent the entire amount. My husband waited all day. No call no show. Showed late for the second appointment with a ladder tied to the roof of a Ford Taurus. The hedge trimmer was an old black and decker. They cut their extension cord and had to go to Lowe's. He has so many reviews on fb because it is his girlfriend that posts under Laila Ricks. Long story short, he has a lot to learn. We hired him to save my husband time and he wasted his time and he had to finish it him *** I'm not really sure what this business owner is referring to when he says my husband didn't like the way he looked? Seems like a thinly veiled racial reference to us which is nonsense. We needed a professional with the equipment to get the job done. An old car and old clippers aren't going to take care of 10 foot tall holly bushes. The purpose of hiring a professional is to save time. You wasted ours. You set a time and never showed. Your gf is on fb groups telling people she has used your company and not telling them she is your gf. If you have been in business that long, you shouldn't need this back handed way to get work. read more

This was the absolute worst experience ever! Jefferson is the most u professional person I've ever dealt with! After getting a quote, seeing our property, and getting a timeframe of 2-3 days for a retaining wall after paying a 50% deposit we agreed to work with him! The WORST DECISION EVER! We paid our deposit and he came by our property to start digging! After that day he never did any work! He was actually detained after a court hearing and some female called us begging us to still work with him and he would even give us a discount for our inconvenience. My husband and I are understanding people and things happen (or at least that's the mindset we tried to go with). We figured if anything he could probably really use the money. He led us on for a week saying he would come by and never did! After 2.5 weeks now (initially the project was only supposed to take a few days) my husband and I both called and told him we would like to be refunded because he has not done the work! He said he would give us at least half of the money back because he ordered the materials. As of yesterday Jefferson Goodwell declined our several attempts to collect our money via Venmo (his preferred method of payment)! We initially paid him Memorial Day weekend and are still waiting for our money back! Not only did he leave holes in our backyard for over a month and dodge our calls and texts to collect our money, he has now delayed our project and companies are projecting to work with us well into September! This is completely unfair and uncalled for! He's extremely unprofessional and an actual thief! He took our money and did absolutely no work, if anything he created a bigger headache for us! I implore you to NEVER USE HIM OR HIS COMPANY! He hasn't changed from his poor reviews years ago until now! Please stay away from this man and his business! read more

Horrible! Initial communication was great, came out to look at the property in a timely manner. We gave clear details with regard to what we wanted: take down planting beds, clear weeds, put down weed-killer and/or gardening cloth and lay down mulch on all beds. The crew started the project in a timely manner after receiving the deposit (50% of quoted price). Sadly, none of what I asked for was done. They did not removed any soil from the planting beds, did not put anything down to prevent weeds from coming up and the attached pictures depict what what the companies idea of putting mulch down is. We called and left several messages to discuss the job and gave the company every opportunity to finish the job as requested but never received a callback. Please save your money and DO NOT use this company. read more

I've never been more pleased with a provided service. Horticulture Masterpiece Landscaping was professional, friendly, timely, affordable, and they did miracles with my yard. I can't say how very happy I am with Horticulture Masterpiece. I have told everyone I know about them and will continue to do so. They are the best of the best. I recently purchased my home, and simply did not have enough time to work on its curb appeal. I literally used to dread driving up to my driveway, my yard was such an eye sore, but I can honestly say that is not the case anymore. Jefferson made me love my house, and for that, I am very grateful. read more

Jefferson was easy to communicate with and showed up when he said he would. The job was done well (stump grinding) and they even leveled out the dirt in our garden after they finished. read more

Poor costumer service. Went back and forth with Jefferson and planned on him meeting at my house at 3pm on a Saturday. Jefferson assured me he serviced NJ after I told him where I lived. He also assured me he has great reviews and people just didn't post them on here. I waited and he never showed up, No call to cancel or reschedule. read more

Contacted Jefferson. He and his crew showed up promptly the next day. 3 hrs later and the tree in my backyard is gone. Was very professional. Cleaned up all debris before he left. Thanks again. read more

Paid Jefferson Goodwell $1750 to buy fence materials for a fence he didn't show up to install because of damaged materials. Shortly after, he hiked the quote up $1000 and then I told him I wanted my money back. Paid him on September 18, 2019 and today -- October 26. 2019, he still has yet to refund me the small amount. "You'll get refunded in five business days like any normal business." Yeah right. This guy is a thief! Go to Paul Stein with Elegant Fence. Charges the same amount and doesn't require a deposit. You pay him when the job is done. He saved my butt with the fence installation since I have two small kids. He gets it and he's an honest guy unlike Jefferson. 6 weeks later and I'm still waiting on the $250 from Jefferson that he owes me from the total deposit I paid. Wonder if he'll be "a man of his word" like he says he is. SCAM ARTIST at its finest right here folks! read more

Very professional yet personable, great prices, and was on time! Jefferson removed multiple tree stumps from our property. He also cleaned up the area. Will definitely recommend and use him again. read more

Good honest dude! Does it matter what someone drives? Some people that write bad reviews are bitter to start with.

Jefferson and crew were able to give my jungle of mess backyard a fresh start. They cut all of the life size weeds down to the dirt. Garden lime was used to improve the ph levels & grass seeds were planted. Jefferson will also be adding chicken wire to the bottom of my fencing to keep my little dog from escaping. Hoping to have beautiful growing grass in the next several weeks. read more

I waited a while to post because I was pissed. I paid $300 for weed clearance and pruning evergreen hedge along with 2 shrubs. I also paid $200 for mulching and was told they would put weed fabric down and place mulch over it. Well,98% weeds were pulled, some I had to pull or cut down myself. The center shrub and lower shrub was cut back ,but left the back evergreen shrub untouched. Mulch was thinly laid WITHOUT fabric underneath. PLUS,the bagged weeds, like 10, was left at curbside and I had to pay another company to remove along with the hedge branches I chopped down, and remaining weeds when I returned home ( I was not home when this was perform,my mistake). Plus ,I had paid upfront via PayPal. Lesson learned. "Everyone can't be pleased " , as I read in a response on another review,TRUE,but at least live up to your WORD !!! read more
