So about 45 years of varying degrees of back pain, started after lifting a patient. Often have pain numbness,tingling radiating down left leg. Recent mri showing small bulge , stenosis and arthritis to news a few. My pain became so bad after doing more lifting that I couldn't take it meanwhile my neck wanted to get in the action. He talked and walked through everything that he would be working on. I was a dancer through my high school and colleges years - I've always had a bad hip and back! I received care from this chiropractor for several weeks a while back but had not gotten around to reviewing. I feel that the care Dr. Horst provided was okay, although after my last few visits I noticed I was in more pain than when I arrived there. There was never any follow-up of any kind, even after I stopped returning to see how I was doing. The whole thing felt very impersonal to me. My biggest complaint is with the woman that was working the front desk, I don't recall her name, but she was an older woman. She had zero people skills. I would come in and she would never acknowledge me until it was time for me to go back and see the chiropractor. A miracle worker! I've been seeing Dr Horst for many years and thus review is long overdue. He really knows his stuff and the ART Active Release Technique really works! Used to USED to have hip pain- he fixed it- it was painful but then healed for months! Then recently I pulled my shoulder and thought I was gonna need surgery. After one visit with Dr. Horst and his ERT technique I was in tremendous pain and was in a pain level of just sitting doing nothing and within three days it was almost 100% healed. I had a caring experience on my visit yesterday. Erika was so sweet and efficient at the front desk. Dr Horst was very gentle since I'm a senior citizen who had taken a fall on concrete. He checked my bones and muscles, did an adjustment and vibration stimulation, and performed Active Release Technique. I'm going back Tuesday for more treatment. Dr. Horst from the beginning was straight forward, I had explained to him what I was there for and how I found him. I had right shoulder surgery and ever since I've had issues. I had went to see a chiropractor down in Houston TX (Dr. Gregory Johnson) and he does a technique called the ring dinger. And I had went to see him because after surgery My arm was stuck a few inches away from my hip. Nonetheless he definitely helped me get my arm better, but I still wasn't 100% so I went to local chiropractic off and they were decent but didn't follow through with my shoulder issues. Which brought me to Dr. Horst, I went on google and searched for the best chiropractor in my area and he was at the top, So I called to see if I could get an appointment and at first the receptionist didn't have anything until the end of the month and she informed me that he is highly busy. I understand and said ok, but to my surprise she had found a cancellation that day and I was available, so I took it. The office is very nice so is the staff. I had told Dr Horst why I was there and what brought me to him and he said "If your looking for someone that does the ring dinger, I'm not it but you can google the Y-strap technique and you should find someone who does it." I said no sir I'm here to get fixed and I wanted someone local if possible. So he did he's examination of me and then took me to the table for my adjustment and after everything was over I was really impressed and I went out and bought the exercise band that he told me to get and bought the bolster he told me to get from him. I've been feeling great ever since. One thing that really stood out to me that I liked about him was that he told me he didn't want to see me every few days like other chiropractors have told me he said I'll see you today and then I probably won't see you again till next month I have exercises for you to do and will see how you have improved or go from there. So yes I would highly recommend Dr. Horst to everyone & again this is just after one treatment.. So imagine if I had seen him for a few ? I've been dealing with some bad shoulder pain for a few months now and have been to the doctors a few times as well as a physical therapist. None were very helpful and was even told by a physical therapist there was not much that could be done. I've received Chiropractic services on and off for many years out of necessity due to my active lifestyle. Thankfully I don't have any recurring issues from injuries or accidents (knock on wood) I've been seen by some good ones as well as mediocre ones. Dr Horst is an amazing one. From the moment I called to schedule an appointment to the time I walked out from my first appointment, I was impressed. Here's why: 1) That first call to schedule my appointment, Melissa was friendly, accommodating, and professional. 2) When I arrived at my appointment, the offices were clean and well kept. 3) Dr Horst is very thorough. After I explained my issues, he immediately knew what was wrong and provided a reasonable treatment which included my own "homework" as he called it. He did a wonderful job educating me on the cause of the pain I was experiencing and I liked that he didn't try to recommend expensive treatments that he knew insurance wouldn't cover. I get the sense that he tends to take a more conservative approach which I can appreciate because I've been to those chiropractors who recommend everything under the sun! I feel like Dr Horst will recommend only what is needed for the situation - nothing more or less than. It's been about 30 hours since my appointment when I'm writing this review and already the difference in the pain I was experiencing before I saw him is like night and day. I'm so happy to have found him and already can't wait for my next appointment. The only downside I'd say is that it can be challenging to get appointments right away since he has limited office hours during the week. They can get you on a waitlist for cancellations but I'm not sure how that would be helpful for those who don't have flexible work schedules. I imagine they would do their best to accommodate any emergency type situations. Since my "injury" is more born out of lifestyle than it is accident, I'm not too bothered by the scheduling issue.
