I have had physical therapy before and been passed along or left on my own, like in a gym. Chief was my first real physical therapy experience at age 65! After being diagnosed with nerve impingement in my shoulders, my doctor wrote an Rx for PT, suggesting another place in town. After seeing the reviews, I went to Chief. I am super impressed with the personal service and having a one on one with the same therapist (doctor). They really know their stuff and how the body is supposed to work. I had previously been given shoulder exercises elsewhere, but had never been taught the nerve glide that stretches the shoulder nerves to your fingertips. That and other exercises practiced at home proved to be the treatment I needed. The video instructions provided were extremely helpful to teach me to do the PT on my own. I love that this is a small practice that treats patients individually. It really made a difference in my treatment, and a bigger difference in my quality of life. The odd compliment was to stop going to their business because they taught me the skillset I needed to improve my situation. I appreciate how the exercises were explained as to the benefits they would provide. I will add one piece of advice to this review. Before surgery, seek out different doctors in different practices. Sometimes a neurosurgeon might readily intervene when physical therapy is the better treatment option. Based on my symptoms, I had two cervical discs fused and am not convinced the surgery was the best approach. Ironically, an orthopedic surgeon quickly diagnosed my shoulder nerve impingement and suggested PT over surgery. I will never know if my cervical fusion was necessary, but I am glad to have significant pain reduction and mobility thanks to the treatment at Chief Physical Therapy. read more

I started going to Chief Physical Therapy in October 2025 for neck and jaw pain and was treated with the Remy Class IV Laser. I noticed improvement after the first session and have continued to experience progress since then. I took an integrative approach to my treatment, which also included chiropractic adjustments to my neck and jaw, additional laser therapies at my chiropractor's office, and SoftWave therapy. To my surprise, the Remy laser was far superior to the SoftWave therapy for my condition. I believe this is because the laser was able to target certain areas that SoftWave could not. Additionally, the entire staff is friendly and incredibly helpful, from the receptionists to the therapists who administer the laser therapy. Rachel has administered most of my laser treatments, and she is the absolute best! I feel comfortable telling her where my pain points are, and she makes sure to address them. After having visited a couple other PT practices, I could tell within minutes of my son's initial evaluation by Dr Allen, that this was the right place to get appropriate and targeted rehab for my son's sports injury. He is providing a whole body regimen, strength and mobility, to ensure not only a proper rehab but also a preventative program so we hopefully do not experience the injury again. Overdue review! Chief PT deserves every single 5 star rating they get. Just earlier this year I spent 3 full months 4x a week at a chain location my insurance covered that wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't great. When I didn't get the results my surgeon hoped for with physical therapy alone and now had to get surgery, I knew I wasn't chancing it with my PT post op. The main difference: - It is direct with your physical therapist the entire session. There are no PT aides. Not really my place to judge the insurance model of physical therapy but to actually have direct sessions with the actual Dr. ensuring you're doing every exercise right and hands on work is undoubtedly more valuable, especially if you have limited time. You're not 1/3 or 1/4 patients in the hour for one physical therapist, it's just you. I learned more and practiced more exercises in one full session than I felt I wasted time with going for 2-3 weeks in the other model. Cost to value (including time spent) is a no brainer to choose Chief for me. I had really high expectations for not using insurance, they were all met and exceeded. I also had a severe elbow dislocation and complex case and Dr. Allen was up for the challenge. I was given clear exercises and he remembered where my progress was every follow up session. He helped me in my post op journey and my elbow is doing really well. Can't recommend Chief PT enough! read more

I started going to Chief Physical Therapy in Temecula to help build strength in my bone on bone knees. I was able to postpone having a TKR for a couple of years, thanks to Dr. Allen. I finally had my total knee replacement in my left knee last March. The physical therapist worked with me had helped me to quickly regain my range of motion and worked with me on pain management. I love the fact they they are offering holistic treatments in addition to traditional physical therapy and that all sessions are one on one. Chief PT is the absolute best. Had my knee replaced in late July 2024. Since I still operate in a competitive sports environment I needed a group that knew how to deal with athletic motion. I've been to other therapy "mills" where you meet once with the actual therapist and are thereafter turned over to students or aids. At Chief Physical Therapy, Dr. Allen is with me every moment of my treatment. He constantly adjusts my therapy based on my individual issues. At one session, I explained that I was headed to a pretty physically aggressive weekend. He modified my session to be less vigorous on the knee and focused on other exercises. While jogging I tore the main ligament going from my toes under my foot up the ankle to my knee in 3 horizontal spots. It was taking forever to heal so we used laser treatment. On the 4th treatment I could tell it started healing and by the 6th treatment it was healed. I also fell off my knee scooter when I was off my foot for the torn ligament and broke my back. I had PT all along to try to get strength, balance, flexibility, and to learn how to walk again. The pain in my back would not leave so I asked for the magic machine. Yup the laser. I had 6 treatments along with PT and I'm so much better. I'm almost completely out of pain. I have exercises to do daily and tools to help myself. The money was well spent. I hired Dr. Alan to help my aging mother who is wheelchair bound. She is capable of walking but is too afraid of falling. I do not live close enough to attend to things in person and this made me feel helpless. Dr Alan was super thorough. He spent time with me understanding all the details about Mom, then did an evaluation and determined he could help her. His administrator, Wesley, is a wealth of knowledge and very, very helpful. He calls or emails me weekly with his perception of the sessions and makes suggestions, when needed. From the very first day, my Mom and Dad really liked him. He takes it nice and easy with her but also prompts her to push that little bit harder. He has been able to get Mom to do things she had not done in ages. Just finished my PT for an achilles tendinitis with Dr Allen. I have spent years attending Ranch PT in Murrieta which has always been a good place to go for PT. However, I wanted to find a place that was closer to Meadows Pkwy in Temecula. I was also intrigued by the one-on-one concept that was explained on line. In a nutshell, Dr Allen spends the entire session with you. No assistants monitoring you. You and Dr Allen. Today was my last session and I can say today I made the right decision by going to Chief PT. I have actually accumulated and notebooked most of the routines that Dr Allen put me through. Although this is the last day I now have the confidence to do these stretches at home. Dr. Allen was great at helping me figure out the issue I was having with my ribs that just wouldn't seem to go away for over a month after taking a spill playing basketball. He really took his time working with me to make sure he was able to pin point the exact spot that was the source of the pain since it was a bit tricky and triggered by random movements.
