Greetings, fellow adventurers! Let me regale you with tales of my epic quests at the Horseshoe Lounge, a hidden gem in Riverside, CA. This extraordinary dive bar is more than meets the eye - it's a realm of adventure, akin to a medieval pub straight out of a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. As a valiant paladin with black and purple hair, I have ventured to many taverns, but the Horseshoe Lounge stands apart. Stepping through its doors transports you to a world where every visit is a thrilling expedition. You'll encounter a diverse cast of characters, from fierce warriors to cunning rogues, all united by a shared love for good drinks and great company. One aspect that truly sets the Horseshoe Lounge apart is its welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. In this magical realm, I've never once felt creeped on or uncomfortable. The patrons and staff are like genuine comrades, quick with a hearty laugh and authentic compliments. It's a place where friendships are forged and memories are cherished. Now, let's raise our tankards to the libations! The Horseshoe Lounge's selection of drinks is as diverse as the races and classes in the realm of Dungeons and Dragons. From their icy-cold bottled beers that rival the chill of a frost giant's breath to their bewitching concoctions crafted with the skill of a master alchemist, every sip is an adventure in itself. While immersed in this medieval pub, be sure to indulge in their delectable offerings. The tavern fare, fit for noble knights and daring sorcerers alike, will satiate your hunger as you strategize your next move. And fear not, for they have options to satisfy both carnivorous barbarians and herbivorous druids. Venturing into the Horseshoe Lounge is like embarking on a quest with a band of intrepid adventurers. Each visit unravels new tales, unlocks hidden treasures, and leaves you yearning for more. So, gather your party, don your armor or robes, and embark on a memorable journey to this marvelous tavern in Riverside. May your tankards overflow with mirth and may your adventures be legendary! read more

If you're not a regular I don't think this place is somewhere you should try out. Me and my friend came in here and immediately felt out of place. The regulars were quick to make comments and we ended up leaving because a drunk man wouldn't leave us alone. The bartender, however, was a sweet girl who did her best to keep us happy and I do appreciate that. But my best friend is new to this area and we decided to try out the closest place to her house and ended up somewhere that we did not belong. Also, this place is cash only!! $3.50 fee to use the ATM read more

I've brought my oldest here before, but this was the first time bringing all three of my kids. They started getting a little bored, so I decided to take them over to the dart machines for something fun to do. I'd never used one of the electronic dart machines before, and my kids and I were completely lost trying to figure it out. I asked the female bartender for help, but she was dismissive, rude, and not very helpful. Unfortunately, that hasn't been a one-time experience. Every interaction I've had with her has been unpleasant, which is disappointing. Thankfully, one of the patrons noticed us struggling and came over to help us get everything set up and explained how it all worked. That small act of kindness really made our night. This place has a great setup for anyone looking to have a fun night out. They have a lot of pool tables, 9 dart machines, and 3 pinball machines, so there's plenty to do whether you're there for a tournament, playing games with friends, or just hanging out. The atmosphere here is always welcoming, with a very casual, laid-back vibe that's not intimidating at all, whether you're a regular or it's your first time stopping in. The regulars are incredibly friendly, and the male bartenders have always been welcoming, helpful, and great to interact with. That's one of the reasons we continue coming back. The menu is pretty simple, with classic bar food and a selection of sandwiches, but everything we've had has been really good. It's the perfect kind of food to enjoy while hanging out, playing a few games, or watching a pool tournament. Overall, we always have a great time and will definitely keep coming back to cheer on my boyfriend during his tournaments. This place would easily be a 5-star spot for us if it weren't for our repeated interactions with the female bartender. Aside from that, it's a great place with good food, plenty of games, a fun atmosphere, and genuinely kind patrons and staff.

During my last visit, the bartender asked for my ID and then accused me of presenting a fake ID. After that, she refused to serve me because she said I was giving her "attitude." The entire interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and unprofessional. I've also noticed bartenders drinking while working, and during this particular visit, it seemed like the bartender was more focused on hanging out with friends than serving customers. If employees are going to drink while on the job, it shouldn't interfere with how customers are treated or how professionally situations are handled. It's disappointing because this has been one of my go-to spots after work for the last couple of years. I've always enjoyed coming here, especially the golf course, but this experience definitely changed my impression of the bar. I hope management addresses the professionalism and customer service issues because I'd like to be able to enjoy coming back. However I'd give the Van buren golf course a 5 STAR Review!

Sign on the front door instructed you to use a side door since the AC was on. Entering I found a dozen people, either at the bar or shooting pool. Definitely a regulars hangout. It was loud, but mostly due to a "jukebox" (a newer, electronic kind mounted on the wall where you could play a digital version of most anything for a fee). Seemed to be a full bar, with a half dozen domestic beers on tap. Plenty of bottled beer. That seems to be the go-to. No food, per se, but when I asked I was directed to a crock pot on a shelf against a wall that had ground beef that was clotted and drying out. There was a bag of Kirkland tortilla strips, a package of small tortillas, and some shredded cheese and toppings. It was on the house. Pizza would've been a big seller here.
