I used the Horderly virtual organizing service for my kitchen. For the most part I liked the placements that the organizer suggested, but there were limitations to doing this process virtually. Several suggested placements wouldn't work due to size constraints or other small idiosyncrasies of my space that the organizer couldn't predict. The suggestions were helpful overall, but I felt like I had to put more effort than I was hoping into figuring out the placements. Another thing to consider if you're thinking about using the virtual service is that they want you to pull everything out, declutter, sort, and then organize all at once. This requires that you have a large block of time available to devote to organizing. That was hard for me to coordinate given work and the fact that I have a small child. I get the advantages of the method, but I wouldn't recommend this service to someone with young kids. Another thing to consider is that all of the product recommendations come from the container store. I asked for a couple of specific recommendations for problem areas and I didn't end up getting helpful suggestions for them because the container store didn't carry what I needed. Lastly, Horderly recommends you tip your organizer 15%. This really irritates me because I feel like the company is saying "we know we don't pay our employees what they're worth, so we're going to manipulate our customers into paying more for our service than what they initially agreed to in order to make up the difference." Your employees are PROFESSIONALS. PAY THEM WHAT THEY'RE WORTH and be up front with your customers about the true cost of the service. read more

BEWARE I hired this company to declutter and organize my bedroom after an extensive online search for an organizing service specializing in dealing with large amounts of clutter/hoarding. So upon finding a company called Horderly, I thought it was a promising option, and this contacted them to inquire/learn more. This was initially over email, and they had me send photos of the room in its (then) current state. After they reviewed the images, I spoke with Fillip (one of the owners) for over 30 minutes explaining my situation (I have OCD and anxiety so I needed someone who was experienced in working with someone like me) and that a significant part of the process would be clearing out the space. I was extremely clear about the fact that I would have to be involved in the process (as opposed to having the people from the company do it on their own), as well as the fact that I would not be needing much, if any, additional storage/organizing items (bins, drawer inserts, etc) since I already had plenty. Furthermore, I explained that since my entire apartment needed organizing, I intended to book more projects (my kitchen, my office, and so on), but wanted to start with just the bedroom to a) make sure this was a good fit before committing to anything more. He assured me that was fine, that he agreed it was a good way to go about starting things, and that breaking down each area/room into separate projects over the course of a couple months was feasible. He proposed 3 days, each session lasting 6 hours, with one person the first day, and then two people for the second and third. Each person was $110 an hour, and each person billed as their own hour, so the total time estimated was 24-28 hours for $2600-$3100. I had to put down an $1100 deposit (not to mention sign a contract) just to secure the booking. The service was supposed to not just declutter and organize, but also set up a system that the client would be able to maintain afterwards on their own. Given all my needs and everything they promised, I was willing to pay their rate despite having found other companies charging way less for the same kind of service. It was scheduled to be Monday, Tuesday, and then Friday, so I effectively set aside my entire week to be able to participate as much as possible. The first day went well, the actual organizer who came was wonderful and I was very happy with the amount of progress made - there was still plenty to go, but it was off to a strong start. Before she left, we planned out what we would do the following day, so everything seemed to be on track. Yet only 90 minutes after she left, I got an email from Fillip saying that they (the company) "wasn't best suited to assist me" and cancelled the remaining sessions. Suffice it to say, I felt completely blindsided, not to mention panicked as the room was mid-process and I suddenly had no one to help. I immediately wrote back saying how shocked and upset I was, that it would be leaving me in a massive lurch (all in a very polite manner) so I asked him to at least honor the two existing bookings for the week - I even said it was ok if the room wasn't completely finished by then, just that it be left in a manageable state. I made it clear that, while I didn't agree with it, I understood the decision to not proceed with any of the planned future projects, even offering to go down to just one organizer (instead of two) for the remaining two days. I sent that 15 minutes after receiving his email. He responded 3 hours later saying it wasn't possible since he "didn't want to waste my money if they're unable to help" (even though those two days would've helped) and that he/the company "don't want to bill their clients just to bill them" yet still charged me the full rate for the day out of the deposit, the remainder of which he said he'd refund me that day, which I still have yet to receive. Based on all the information I provided, they knew exactly what they were getting into with my situation, and given that this was done/planned over the course of several weeks, they had more than enough time to change their mind/decide not to move forward with the project. Instead, they wasted my time, energy, and money - don't let this happen to you too. read more

Unfortunately I had to have major surgery and had to cancel my appointment, On calling , with the odd policies of mailing a check , the deposit was returned but to my surprise charged for bank fees. When I asked about fee sadly I was belittled and then told how I received an exception " normally " no money back. Interesting approach, under circumstances Stressed ? Unfortunately this is definitely not someone I would ever want to work with for any reason , especially my home. read more

Horderly is a fantastic home organizing company. They helped so much with downsizing some of our stuff last year in order to prepare for our new baby that was on the way. They helped turn his room into something awesome. We also recently used them again for a move into a larger space. They handled everything from start to finish and made the move as smooth as possible. We were ready and organized in our new home the same day. They worked with the movers to prepare boxes for the best possible unpacking and unboxed, put away, and organized the whole home. Ilana is the best and was our organizer for both projects! We couldn't love her more, though everyone we have worked with has been great. I cant recommend this company enough and they are great for any organizing project, from one room to a whole house. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I hate to write a review like this because the actual organizational work was great! The organizational skills of Hanna were superb. Well worth the investment. Unfortunately, my problems arose with final billing. Despite repeated attempts, I still have yet to receive the final amount due back to me. They have made multiple contradictory excuses along the way, avoided my emails, etc.. To top it off, the sheer lack of professionalism from Fillip, the founder, has been astonishing. He has blamed everyone but himself. From his system, to his team, to Amazon. But it was his lack of handling the issue that put it over the edge. Makes you realize that you are not dealing with a trustworthy company. There are many other organizing companies out there. Please proceed with caution with this one. read more

I have used Horderly for years. Would have suggested them. This time, I had major issues with billing and spend. Then, during my last work with them, Hordely spent over $5000 on product getting approval on the spend (they have a deal with Container store and must get some kind of kickback from them. ) They then did not produce clear receipts when I queried about the spend. The invoice amount continued to change. When I asked for details on receipts, feedback was unclear and hard to parse. When I asked to return the items I did not need, I was told only store credit at a store I did not want to use again. When they offered to "fix it', it was by having me hire them to do more personal organizing. This was one of the more disappointing service experiences of my life. It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review (I've literally never left one) but I so disappointed that I cannot in good conscious suggest that other folks use them. read more

LIFE CHANGING!! I was skeptical to hire an organizer, although we desperately needed yet, but after agreement from my husband (he is the culprit of our issues), we hired Hoarderly and after a 10 hour session (2 organizers for 5 hours each) we had already signed up for another 10 hour session! I cannot get over the miracle work that they did. My apt feels so much bigger because there's actually room to put things away in! They couldn't have been nicer, more professional, and better to work with. I also really appreciated that they took away the trash and donated bags upon bags of things that we no longer needed or didn't even know we had! These guys are seriously amazing!! I have worked with a few organizers before. They are usually good especially if you have never worked with one before. I thought I was organized but it was nothing compared to what they do!! I found my experience with Horderly to be the best. The first organizer I used was pretty fab but charged an arm and a leg and did a horrible job of installation. The second one just didn't listen to my needs. A friend recommended Horderly. My organized organized my entire apartment and storage unit. My apartment has never looked better! Organizing is a tedious and boring job. It's just hard to do day in and day out. What sets these guys apart is that you can request more than one person and that speeds things up. They mostly buy from Container Store or Amazon. From past experience their shelving recommendations don't work for me, but the bins and drawers do. So I spent time in getting my own furniture and shelving units. Some things to keep in mind: 1) Don't expect them to solve all your problems. Everyone is different so you still have to do some work in customizing. 2) It depends on who you get as the organizer and assistant. Not all of them are good. 3) They aren't the best at recommending "appealing" stuff, that is the job of a decorator. They will recommend something that solves your immediate problem. The solution may or may not look that good. My organizer was very enthusiastic, listened, and actually worked with me. She was just awesome!! It took over a month and a lot of $$$ to do my whole place but it was worth it. They also recommend other companies depending on your needs which makes things so much easier!! read more

Absolutely life changing! Kailey and Korrin spent 3 days with me, helping me edit my belongs and organizing my entire apartment. Horderly changed my life! I am living in a temporary apartment (half the size of my previous one), so I already sorted through everything and minimized as much as I could when I moved in. I am glad I did this, as I was able to see how much of a difference a professional organizer can make instead of doing it all yourself. After Jamie and her team organized my walk-in wardrobe (without purchasing any additional organizing items!), I was able to see and access 100% of my clothes, donate yet another 2 bags of items I no longer wear (even though I thought I already went through my wardrobe and have nothing to get rid of), and have a system that I would have never come up with by myself. Now I see and can easily access my entire wardrobe (no more items you owned for years but didn't even know!), so getting dressed is actually fun (and not a drag) and I have a sense of peace when I walk into my closet. Let me start by saying Jamie is an absolute God-send! She was punctual and came to work! I was a little anxious as I had never had a de-cluttering session before.
