Very mediocre. Not horrible, not great. Our waitress said they are known for their burgers, but at 6 oz they were too big for me. I ordered the BLTA. It was served on a cold, untoasted ciabatta roll with an abundance of iceberg lettuce and a small amount of the B,T, and A. I ordered the side of fruit which was honeydew, cantaloupe,and red grapes. Pretty aggressive sales for appetizers and drinks when we first sat down and then indifferent service after that. read more

It's a Red Robin with a wider menu nothing special. The seating area is small so there is always a wait for a table. The bar is popular with a wide array of drinks but they are in the small side of you take away the fancy ice glass. read more

Two words: Fried. Pickles. I didn't eat anything else and I just had iced tea but my sister in law LOVES their ice drinks from the bar, the gummy bear specifically. But I loved the fried pickles! They use panko instead of the heavier breading so they are light and not overly greasy. Given my minimal interaction with their staff and only having one item on the menu, take my review with a grain of salt but definitely try the pickles! You won't be sorry read more

This was my first time eating here, and I'm in instant fan. I had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich (which is a mistake at most restaurants). But it was INCREDIBLE!!! Hop Jack's has great burgers. I have eaten there many times and the food is why I keep coming back. The guacamole burger is awesome! I'd give the food 4 stars. Overall though, I have to drop the restaurant a star because of customer experience. The company has decided to include a 2% surcharge on the bill to provide better benefits for the support staff (kitchen and front desk). They have an explanation posted on the table about employee benefits and the waitress and hostess seemed ready to explain the situation. I'm all for the staff being paid more or having better benefits, but as a consumer, I don't need the inner workings of Hop Jack's pay program in front of me when I am eating with my family. It feels like a publicity stunt when the restaurant could just have easily raised product prices 2% and left the customer out of the equation. It just kind of killed the atmosphere for me. That being said, this still is my favorite place to grab a burger in Silverdale. read more

This place is decent. I actually don't care for their mozzarella sticks. Too buttery, but I respect that it's made from scratch. That in itself deserves praise. I found their fish tacos to be too heavy (again, I think the batter was fried in butter), but I love their Cobb salad. read more

Went here for lunch when they opened at 11am, the burger that cost 12.25 and some salted fries , it was like getting a burger from red robins minus the all you can eat fries from there....the other person who i was eating with had the seafood pasta but it had a hair in it...the drinks were ok...the service was what was it again? handed from one waitress to another...she was lucky we left some type of tip and when she got it she gave us a dirty look...think about it we spent 62 bucks after all that we had gotten from our order, the appetizers looked small, i ordered a side ceasar salad but that damn thing looked wilted for 7 bucks I could have gone to safeway and bought a packaged bag for 4 bucks and feed a family... read more

Plan ahead. You'll need 20 minutes to find a parking spot on top of 20 minutes to wait for a table. The parking lot is VERY small and doesn't even leave room for you to turn around very easily when you get to the end of the aisle and discover there aren't any spots and you need to back out. We figured we had to try the place since it's been open for a few weeks and the parking lot seems pretty busy every evening we happen to drive by. It's a typical sports-bar type of fare. Burgers. Sandwiches. Salads & Soups. Bar food - nachos, onion rings, etc. Thumbs up for the happy hour prices. Good selection of beer. Heavy advertising / bragging that they serve the beer at 34 degrees - how American. Even so, I had the Koko Brown and it was pretty good. The waiter gave me hope with his claim the burgers were "fresh not frozen." The menu gave me hope with words something like "our own guacamole." I ordered the guacamole burger. It was fine, but the guacamole was the typical processed green runny stuff you find in chain restaurants located far from the Mexican border. Their potato chips are pretty good. Fries were meh. They REALLY believe in the power of mayonnaise. Seriously, they must own stock in Hellman's. I think the sauce they brought with our onion rings was ketchup mixed with mayo. My wife's BLT had mayo lathered thick on the bread and an extra cup of mayo on the side. I'm glad I noticed the "mayo" listed on the menu for the guacamole burger and asked them to hold the mayo. They have various flavors of lemonade (raspberry, strawberry, etc) and free refills - thumbs-up. We asked for "lemonade" for my two sons and received limeade and strawberry lemonade and had to keep asking for the lemonade that they wanted - thumbs-down. Also, like just about every other restaurant in Kitsap they serve Pepsi - thumbs-down (good thing I was drinking beer and my wife was driving). Also, the servers are pretty eager to please. My wife finished a glass of raspberry lemonade and in the bat of an eyelash our waiter was standing there asking if she would like a refill. I don't think she had finished the "z" in "yes, please" before he was gone to get her some more, and two flaps of a hummingbird's wings later, another server walking by our table asked if she wanted a refill. In less time than it took her to say, "No thanks, our waiter is already getting one," to the second server, yet another third server stopped to ask if she wanted a refill. Seriously? She basically had to put down her sandwich and wait until her lemonade refill came because she couldn't take a bite of her sandwich otherwise. All-in-all, it wasn't bad. The food was okay, the service was alright, and the happy hour prices were very reasonable. I'm not sure it would be worth the fight for a parking spot or wait for a table if there was a long wait, but if I was passing by and there was an open parking spot, I might be willing to go back and try it again. Let me tell you a little bit about our experience at Hop Jack's. ..I've heard SO many mixed reviews on this place, so we decided to keep an open mind and try it out for a midweek date night. We came in about 6pm and were seated right away in the bar area. It was a little loud, but not unbearable. About 3 different servers came by to tell us that someone would be right with us which was a little excessive, but I appreciated the gesture. Our server, Maddie, was seriously the sweetest girl. She gave us recommendations and she knew the menu really really well. I got the Chicken Club wrap w/french onion soup and my husband got the Jalapeño burger w/clam chowder. The wrap was amazing. The veggies were fresh and crisp and the chicken was good and juicy. The french onion soup was yummy, but not my absolute favorite. The burger was supposedly really good because my husband practically inhaled it. He said it was perfectly spicy - which never happens when he orders "spicy" burgers. Clam chowder: on point. Thick, creamy, sooo good. The potato chips were decent...not amazing, but the regular ranch and garlic ranch are delicious. Mostly we were just really impressed with the service. She was so sweet and helpful. She took really good care of us and kept checking to make sure we had everything we needed. We'll be back soon and multiple times, for sure. read more

stopped in at hop jacks tonight and it was amazing! The food came out almost as fast as I ordered it and tasted delicious. Me and my fiancé got the monster French dip and the taquitos. The French dip was fluffy and succulent, and the taquitos were hot and crispy. The service was amazing and our server brittany was like an octopus with her fluid motions from grabbing our drinks, removing dirty plates, to getting us our check. THEY LOOKED LIKE A WELL OILED MACHINE. I would definitely recommend hop jacks to anyone who has never tried it! read more

Ok, been there twice now. First time was their first Saturday open. Website says they serve breakfast until 12:00 Noon. we showed up at 11:30am to eat breakfast and the waitress says they stopped early due to lack of demand and so they decided to stop. I said - your website says 12:00 Noon and your menu does too. So the waitress goes and asks the manager and he walks over and hands us breakfast menus. It shouldn't have had to come to that - but it was ok - so was their breakfast. Tonite, we went for dinner - to beat the sucker crowd on Valentines Day. All three of us ordered burgers. The boy had a deluxe burger - he devoured it. My GF had a bleu cheese burger - she would have devoured it except that we also order the boneless chicken wings and deep fried zuchinni (they shouldn't call it Tempura as it does a diservice to Japanese food when they advertide vegetable tempura and all they offer is zuchinna and DILL PICKLES -REALLY?). The chicken was served a bit cooler than I would have preferred so I think they lit them sit on the shelf a few minutes too long. Anyway, I ordered a Big Kahuna (Teryiaki Burger - ala Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction). Their burgers are so DAMNED FRESH they were absolutely awesome and WE WIL BE GOING BACK to try their other burgers. Their burgers kicked the holy hell out of Red Robin in Silverdale. Red Robin has gone so down hill they should close their doors. What a disappointing meal. For some time now, a couple people recommended coming here to eat. We've always blown it off because their menu seemed pretty ho-hum. Burgers and lackluster sounding wraps, sandwiches and general entree type of fare. Well, surprise, surprise, when we had a long wait to get seated at Silver City down the street, we decided to come to Hop Jack's because burgers and general entree type fare was what we were after. The Pros: -we were seated immediately -our server was quick to greet us, provide us information about new menu items, recommend things, and even offer me a taste of one of their newer beers -the time from placing our order to receiving our food wasn't bad at all, considering how busy they were The Cons: -too loud. WAY too loud. We had to talk loudly just to hear each other. -prices for happy hour are still so inflated. Doesn't feel like a happy hour to me ($1 off mozz sticks for happy hour doesn't seem like a deal at all) -beer wasn't great; soda was flat tasting -food: my other half got the meatloaf entree for $12. It's a flat hunk of charred meat, heavily seasoned with cumin, and a handful of tater tots. I got a mushroom burger. The meat was flavorless (I had to season every bite). -prices are way too expensive for what we received Let me break it down a little further: The meatloaf looked like something you'd get at some roadside shack in the middle of nowhere. For the amount of money it costs, I'd expect something a little more gourmet, some kind of side of vegetables, and NOT tater tots. Tater tots that had no flavor but fry oil. I would have been impressed if they would have turned the tots in to some seasoned mashed potatoes with a sprinkle of fried onions and cheese or garlic or something. Not just stand alone tots. My burger was sort of a disaster in the flavor department. I love mushrooms. The mushrooms tasted like mushrooms. They didn't taste sauteed, they had no seasoning to help offset the lack of seasoning of the meat, which is 80/20 (according to our waiter), and in my opinion, not a quality type of meat at all, especially for the price of some of their burgers; it's too fatty and it tastes like it. Swiss cheese doesn't impart any special flavor but I feel like it even detracted from the overall taste of what was on my plate. The fries were okay. The tartar sauce tasted like it came from a jar. I'm just so thoroughly disappointed to have spent $35 on a meal we didn't even enjoy. But like they say, you don't know if you don't try it. I won't be going around telling people "don't go to Hop Jack's" because it's obviously just not our "thing", as many others do enjoy them. But I don't foresee us ever going back. I'd rather wait 45 minutes at Silver City, spend the same kind of money, if not slightly more, and get a guaranteed good meal. Sorry Hop Jack's. read more

My husband and I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They weren't packed but had a good amount of tables filled. We ordered a BBQ Chicken Quesadilla for an appetizer and it was great! The appetizer was delivered in a very timely manner. We both got burgers as our meal, my husband got the Guacamole Burger and I got the Morning Burger. Both we really good! The egg on my burger was perfect and the burgers were well cooked and seasoned! The service was pretty good, my iced tea was empty and our waitress came and filled it promptly. The prices were great too! There was an issue with another customer and an ambulance was called but the staff handled it very well and were calm about it. We went for breakfast and they had a great selection of food! I had french toast and bacon and my husband had the meat burrito. We both ate all of our food and it was delicious! So breakfast or lunch this place has great food!!! We will be back more than once I sure! read more

Our server complained of not having enough tables when we came in but spent very little time attending to her tables that she did have. Further more, when the bill came we asked for our military discount and instead of going down our bill went up. The management instead of honoring the first receipt told us there wasn't anything they could do that the first receipt must have been a mistake. A standard burger joint with good beer. Gets a whole extra star just for being open later than everything in the area. If you need food, and everything is closing on you, Go here - I think they're open to midnight. I think we've been to Hopjacks seven or eight times now since they've opened. I'm not a huge fan of their breakfasts (they are a bit expensive and their OJ tastes horrible), but I do like to come for drinks (get a huckleberry drop!) and appetizers. We've been a few times for dinner as well and everyone has commented that their burgers are pretty good. They are one of the few places in Silverdale that have an outdoor patio with a nice view, so I'd definitely recommend coming down on a nice summer night during happy hour and ordering drinks and appetizers. read more

A nice addition to the bar and grill category in Siverdale. The parking was somewhat inadequate as the lot was full but the restaurant was actually only about 50% full. All of the food was quite good and the atmosphere was pretty nice. Service was merely OK and I felt like my server could have used a little bit more training. Maybe he was new and maybe, with all the new restaurants popping up it is getting harder to find the right people. Overall though it's good to see new businesses like this popping up around these parts. I like the fact that Hop Jack's supports local breweries. The food is okay and the wait staff can be hit or miss, but it's way better than Applebee's. They have a couple of beers made by Northwest Brewing Co. (I think). Overall, I can always count of Hop Jack's for a decent burger and a good beer. read more

When we first moved here, this was the third place we ate out at. I didn't think it was all that. The food tasted like it came out of a box/bag? Nothing amazing. My husband had a baked bbq macaroni he loved. I had the drink with the cyclone looking ice sphere it looks cooler than it tasted. One day we may go back. This would be his fathers favorite spot. When we go back I'll update my review. For all the hype I lowered the stars. I feel like if I was a Sunday morning drinker, or in my later 40-60's I might like this place better. As we arrived, some guests were carrying an extremely drunk woman out of the "restaurant" she was throwing up into s bag and couldn't stand on her own. It is disgraceful to let that happen in your restaurant. We shouldn't have bothered to go in at that point, and would have been able to avoid having our nostrils assaulted by the horrendous smells.
