So, I called Athens Transit & got picked up by Morris Gilmore. He was AMAZING!!!! We talked & chatted on the way to where my car was located. The fare was $30 but I only had $25 on me. He was very friendly and polite to accept my $25 & take me where I needed to go at 2am in the morning. I highly recommend this driver and hope others will take the time to try this company out & ask for "MORRIS". He is the BEST!!!

I cannot put weight on one foot and thus cannot get the scooter that helps me be mobile into or out of the car. He answered the phone when I called, had me text him so he had my number to communicate. Texted back quickly with a price, so that was known ahead of time, and he texted to reconfirm the night before pick up. Upon arriving on time (a bit early) he texted, then called when I did not answer. He drove a SUV, which was in good shape. It's not a chauffeur or luxury service. It's a taxi ride/driving service. I had no issues at all and would use him again. He does on demand calls too, but you may need to wait for availability for that. He has a couple other drivers, but probably busy at certain times/days. This company is good for local trips in Athens, Watkinsville, maybe Lawrenceville too. I recommend making a reservation, but it's not required and it's open 24/7. I did not find any other taxi companies in business. Most on the lists found online are no longer in existence. That would be fine if there were more than an occasional Paul try Uber or Lyft driver's, but there's no and you options are few. . There's two other "driver services" companies in Athens/Watkinsville, but they either do not do local trips anymore, and only do to and from airport - yvreservation, or just do local trips if they happen to not have all cars on airport trips. So this company is your seat bet for local trips and on demand trips. It's not cheap, but comparable to the driving service that sometimes does local trips. Law of supply and demand. There are few to no taxis in Athens. Almost no Ubers or Lyfts driving in my area (west end of Athens at Oconee border) anymore since the pandemic. I thought I'd use Uber until I saw none at all by me for several days. After much searching, I found these three driving services, but only this one is 24/7, on demand and reservation, and does mostly local trips. None have meters. They all tell you price ahead of time, although ask if they do not. I am grateful this service is still available (been in business 15 years) and thoughtfulness it was good.

Cabs in Athens are designed to do one thing: move drunken students between downtown bars and their beds. As a result, the typical "taxi" is a vomit-soaked jalopy that looks like it's being held together with duct tape and optimism. Anyone who has used a real taxi has no idea what they're getting into in Athens. You're better off walking, hitchhiking, waiting for the bus or simply sleeping under a bridge. It's probably still safer and more sanitary than getting into one of these rolling wrecks. It's an embarrassment to the city, and the whole system should be torn down and rebuilt from scratch, but I'm sure somebody is paying off somebody else to ensure that never happens. Beware.

Enough for me to stop & write an entire review based on that alone. I will do business with him in the future!

Their drivers are very professional & their vans are top notch and very clean. I pay approximately $35-39 for a one way, which I think is an extremely good value. The only negative I would like to see them improve on is their incoming call hold time. Hold time is unacceptable. Every time I've called in.. 10+ minute hold time. This tells me they are not hiring to their needs on customer service reps that handle the calls. I am still giving them 5 stars at this time because everything else they are doing so well, but their hold time is asinine, if they do not fix this problem it's going to continue to really hurt their business.
