We were greeted by a very pleasant volunteer who talked with us for about 45 minutes. She gave us many tips for the city and our travels outside of the city. The welcome center is also attached to the church waddel brumby house. This house has a lot of history which I don't remember, but the ornate carpeting was very interesting. The parking lot can fit maybe 5 cars maximum. FYI there are free public bathrooms here that you can access from outside.

The accommodations are meticulously decorated and comfortable. Breakfasts are catered by a local restaurant between 7am - 11am, and include scrambled eggs, bacon, orange juice, coffee, tea, several choices of baked goods, and even some Prosecco available if you want to concoct your own morning mimosa. In addition, beer, wine, and bottled still and sparkling waters are available all day, along with some crunchy packaged snacks in the afternoon. The location is in the Five Points area, which has many excellent restaurants within walking distance. We also noticed that Milledge Ave. is a popular jogging route for students in the morning. Not into jogging? A pleasant walk among the shade trees is a lovely diversion along the route as well. Parking is adjacent to the building and included. Access to the rooms and building are through an app which is easy to use. We felt like personal guests of the owners, and they ensured that we were satisfied with everything from start to finish. After our recent stay, I can't imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Athens again. We will definitely be back.

We booked two large coach buses to transport guests between the hotel and venue, and also used a party bus to get the bridal party to the venue--bridesmaids from the hotel in the morning and groomsmen from our home later in the day. From start to finish, Stephen's was responsive, punctual, and flexible, even as our schedule shifted in the weeks leading up to the big day. It was such a relief knowing everyone had a reliable ride, especially early in the morning when nerves and timing were tight. The drivers were not only professional but also fun and friendly--they treated both us and our guests with warmth and care. Many of our guests commented on how much they appreciated the transportation and how seamless it made their experience. I highly recommend TJ Stephens and his team for any event that requires dependable and guest-friendly transportation.

As I am writing this, my 5 star review of Stephens Limousine Service from 10/2016 popped up and I agree wholeheartedly as to what I wrote about this local company 6 and a half years ago as I do today. The room I had on the first floor was fairly quiet if one could get used to the highway noise, which died down later in the evening. The air conditioning system was not excessively noisy. The room was clean, but the decor was very basic, with a very plain shower curtain and inexpensive carpets that has a few stains. For the price you are paying, though, one shouldn't expect anything fancy. One thing I didn't like was that the room had some kind of a scent from an air freshener that was a little too strong. I also like to make a cup of coffee in my room in the morning, but the rooms had no coffee maker. The hotel is a basic motel with parking in a court in the middle and two stories of rooms on either side with doors to the rooms directly on the outside. If you are looking for a more secure place with rooms accessed through an interior hallway, this isn't the place for you. All in all, I got a good deal for what I paid and I recommend this place if you just need a place to sleep in the Athens area. The distance to downtown Athens is about 6 miles.
