When the woman finally picked up, she was extremely rude. She kept talking over me, raised her voice at one point, and rushed me off the phone when I tried to ask a question. She would not let me make an appointment, and said that they would call me back later in the day. How hard is it to make an appointment?? She also asked me for my name twice, my phone number twice, my insurance carrier twice. Extremely frustrating. They called me back, and I was busy. I returned the call and got another woman who was very pleasant. Of course, she had to ask me the same questions that the first woman asked me, which was annoying. I asked her if they were in-network with my insurance carrier, and she said that they would look into it and call me if there was a problem. Not sure how they didn't already know--everybody other place that I've been to knows whether they are in-network or not. I show up at my appointment, and they tell me that they're not in network so the charge is going to be enormous. What a bait and switch. I was furious. I have no idea if the physical therapy is any good, but my experience with this place was just abysmal.

Then I went for a couple visits with the actual floor staff and the low energy and lack of quality treatment or care was quickly evident. Having done PT for other sports injuries over the years this was definitely the worst. After a 3rd PT visit where the two ladies at the front were just short with me for no reason and super unfriendly that was enough for me. Found another PT closer to union sq with excellent care and friendly upbeat attitude - a feeling that they actually care about getting patients better and are kind.

The amount charged to my insurance, which I had to cover the spillover on, was absolutely absurd. $1000 for the first minimal appointment. I called the billing office a couple of times and was not able to connect with them. I had to pay $75, and then $37, on top of my copay, for every visit I had with them, and I have great insurance. I ended up going to a different doctor uptown after 4 visits and had a much, much better experience and am on my way to healing after a year of pain.

Really recommend to not come here. The first issue is communication. It is nearly impossible to reach a live person. Most calls end up at a recording directing patients to the website, and the only reliable way I've found to get someone on the phone is sometimes through the billing office. For example i just tried to call twice because they mixed up my medication. It's 10:45am EST... full business working hours... and their answering machine said they will get back to me within 1 business day. The second issue is continuity of care. The office now seems to function as a revolving door of students and trainees. While I fully support medical education, it becomes frustrating when a different person handles every appointment and you have to repeat your entire medical history from scratch. Even more concerning, my patient information often appears to be incomplete or inaccurate despite multiple prior visits - again just this week completely mixed up dosages of medications I've been on for years, should clearly be on my sheet? On more than one occasion, I have received recommendations that seemed far more extreme than warranted for the issue being discussed. Follow-up is frequently promised but rarely happens. Never once getting a follow up call on outcome of test results. The biggest problem has been prescription management. I have been on the same medication for years and needed a routine refill. The prescription was not sent, which is something that has happened now multiple times. When I finally reached someone by phone, they proceeded to ask me (the patient) which medication and dosage I take because my chart apparently did not contain that information. Thankfully i obviously know what i take - but that should be confirmed and monitored by the doctor - after all that they sent in the wrong dosage to the pharmacy and doubled my daily medication. The lack of communication, poor recordkeeping, missed prescription requests, and inconsistent follow-up have made this practice difficult to trust with ongoing medical care.

I went in the following day 06/06/25 and was given a tour by the manager. I informed her that I was interested in aqua therapy and she asked which insurance did I have. I informed her and she said yes we accept Emblem GHI. Again....great! Arrived to my appointment on 06/11/25 and provided my insurance information again with a cash copay which I paid but wasn't informed prior that they only accept cash. I saw a male therapist (who didn't introduce himself). He asked me about my health condition and did a less than 5 minute evaluation. He never took me into a private room to assess my range of motion (I've had multiple therapy sessions and the initial evaluation was always done privately). He then said we have to get authorization from your insurance company. I asked approximately how long will that take. He said about two days, I said okay and left. I waited patiently and decided to give them a call on 06/17/25. I called and spoke with someone who said that the manager will call me back in about an hour....no call. I called back 06/18/25 and informed the person about my call the previous day and did not receive a call back. She said the manager will call you back in a few minutes.....no call. I called about 2 1/2 hours later stressing the important of obtaining some information. She said hold on and then came back and said we don't accept your insurance. WHAT!!! I wonder at what point were they going to inform me and at what point during the two weeks did they realize that they did not accept my insurance. I would not recommend this facility just for their unprofessionalism.

I see Dr. Charles Russo here. He is a podiatrist. And he is amazing. Super friendly. Super…read moreaccessible. Great doctor. I have been seeing him for years to get my orthotics (I have flat feet). If you get to this clinic early, you won't have to wait long. I always get there as early as possible. In terms of covid, everyone patients and staff is wearing masks and social distancing. They are very good about this at this clinic. (I know you would think they would be at every medical office. But I have been places where they aren't.)
