Miss Andrea was the best teacher when I was getting my MA diploma and always made sure the students felt comfortable working in the labs such as performing blood draws. Trust me, coming from someone who did not think I could do blood draws, I confidently can say now that I look forward to performing it and everything I learned in class/labs I use at my externship site-which I recently got hired and now work at! Lastly, Rosa and Christian are amazing! Rosa has been helpful with answering any questions I had at the front desk and Christian helped me find my externship site quickly. Christian also took in consideration what I was looking for in an externship and my end goals which was very important to me because I wanted something that could offer a full time position. I had zero knowledge before coming in. Not only the class gave me hands-on real life trading experience (with paper money of-course), it gave me a really good refresher and new insights into reading trends correctly and setting the entry and exits correctly. Day 4, was brutal and I was feeling lost and clueless... But on day 5, things suddenly fell in place. I learnt two valuable lessons, that I was missing in my understanding. This goes to show, that having the company of experts in any field multiplies our effectiveness. I have asked dozens of questions and gotten satisfactory answers. The instructors are not giving the fish but teaching us how to fish. I am truely grateful to have this available. The fee will pay itself many times over, if you are passionate and committed to learn, be challenged and mend your ways (the last one is esp. hard for me!). Now, the instructor that said to not come to this school, was never a good instructor. Majority of the time from when I saw him, he was sitting in the office or trying to chop it up with the students. There's a lot more to it as well, which former students would say the same thing. He was never teaching. Instructors would come and go due to never motivating/teaching the students or even caring. Those instructors never even tried to build rapport with the students. Those instructors were the cancer to the school. I'm glad they don't work there anymore The staff now are always working, teaching and motivating. Moving forward, they're very informative and a lot of hands on work. The instructors encourage you to look for helper jobs to start getting the idea of what these jobs are like. They don't beat around the bush, they don't lie to you about how you're doing. They give you their honest opinion and show you how to correct it. I recommend this school. I started here knowing nothing about welding and now I am a welder. You will receive a certificate of completion of the school. Like I said. I am a plumbing student now and I've learned a lot from Jimmy. He also explained to us that he came from different trades. Very knowledgeable man, knows what he's doing and talking about. Zach is the night instructor from when I started and still works there as well. Also a very knowledgeable person and with a welding degree. I enjoyed and learned my first time around and I came back. I've gone through about four different instructors for the welding program since I started in…read moreJanuary. Half the equipment in the shop is broken or down fifty percent of the time. Sure it's nice to get six weeks of practice in for six different weld styles, but the instructor turnover rate is abysmal. Having seen the listing on Indeed I understand why the instructors can't stay because no one can afford to be an eight hour part timer for minimum wage. Furthermore, the lack of airflow and ventilation in the welding lab area makes it extremely difficult to keep practicing and working on your welds unless your intent on giving yourself a heat stroke. There is a section of the welding lab that hasn't had ANY ventilation for the entire seven months I've been here thus far despite it being brought to the attention of the front office on several occasions. A lot of the equipment you need on day one isn't directly provided (such as respirators) so you're expected to go drop around $30 or more for one if you want to protect your lungs and be able to breathe better. Now personally I think that if you're coughing up twenty grand from your own pocket you should be provided all the equipment you could possibly need as well and a sufficient amount of school shirts that you're required to wear to class (you're only provided two shirts for the four day school week and you're charged extra for any additional shirts). It feels that the only way this program can be worth your time and effort is if you're using grants, scholarships, and other benefits. But if you're using money from your pocket or student loans you can likely find something more suiting and affordable. Especially since the interest rate for monthly payments if you go that route is 9.6% which adds up to well over twenty grand.
