The service was caring and the atmosphere inclusive. Pat at the front desk was pleased to accept a monetary contribution, so that someone who can't afford a dollar for a new to them shirt or pants. Kim helped me find a ladies medium golf vest, Palm Beach, and a lovely blue with azure accents on black. I put it back on the rack and donated its full price as I have enough golf dress attire to impress the ladies at my Country Club. This beautiful place is staffed by all women volunteers to help hospice care regardless of their ability to pay. I have a whole closet full of men's clothes I am now willing to part with. New things I do Not need, but these lovely Ladies were the cure I needed To move on, and stay un retired. read more

This place was huge. I was impressed. It's one of the better thrift stores I've been in... in a very long time. It is also very organized. There's a separate area or in some cases a separate room (!) for each category of items. Most every area is clearly marked and even the shelves are marked as well. There are a lot of clothes -- women's mostly, but also men's. Prices are very reasonable. My girlfriend found two men's Hawaiian shirts for $1 each and a denim dress for herself for $3. But you might also find something a tad more expensive like the designer scarf for $10... but most clothing for a lot less. The house wares are on easily navigated shelves. Prices vary. But here, too, there were items I've seen in goodwill for 3 to 4 times the price. I was able to replace a Pyrex pie dish and a slotted silver plate serving spoon for under $2. There is furniture of all kinds. And at all prices. There was the most expensive item I noticed -- a gorgeous table with 6 chairs for $1200. Not that I was in the market for anything like that, but I actually saw a couple familiar with the maker oohing over it. There's a small book nook with hardcover and paperback books on shelves. Most are even sorted by alphabetical last name. Not in order exactly but all the b's are together; all the c's are grouped etc. ir made it much easier searching for a specific author. This is a store that thrift store shoppers (me included) would return to again and again... and I'm going to try to do so when I'm over on this coast. read more

If you are looking for furniture that is in expensive the hope chest is where you can find it they have everything from baby cribs to adult beds from Hanukkah things to Christmas some sofas to chairs. Dishes to Mugs everything is a good price. read more

I went in for the first time, i was impressed with how clean and organized the sections were. Not to mention they have quite the selection of just about everything, and the furniture is lined up in a way you can still view every piece. The clothes weren't an issue with sizing, very organized. I will be back! I actually ran out of time before they closed so I couldn't make it to another side of building. The cashiers were very sweet and fast. read more

These people are out of their minds. Their prices are double what they are and any other thrift store any other Salvation Army Goodwill. $900 for used couches where do they think they are Nordstrom's?I understand it's for a very good cause. But the parking lot is empty and so is the store. If they manage to get the prices down to something manageable and reasonable place will be packed because it's monstrous is lots of good stuff. But the prices are Not reality. read more

We love Hope Chest for odds and ends. I've gotten summer dresses and skorts that I needed on our first six month stay in Florida.

I have been to this store several times. They always have some sort of sale, lots of clothes, a huge amount of furniture, a special sections with crafts and holiday decor, books, household items, and a boutique section. I always find something for a very good price. I will be back. read more

At one time I was a frequent shopper, now not so much. Prices have drastically gone up and over priced! I am only looking for great deals while contributing to a wonderful charity! Hope Hospice was absolutely the best when 2 of my family members passed away. We even donated a house full of items because we were so grateful. However the past 2 years now I'm not finding the treasured items I seek for a fair price. The manager does not negotiate at all! And frankly a bit on the rude side. Bummer wanted to buy 3 pieces of furniture too. I don't remember the last time I went into the store. read more

Waiting in line to make my purchases. The women behind the counter completely ignored myself and my husband and choose several people to skip in front of us in line to check out. Not sure if it's because we were "younger" and not their normal clientele. They wouldn't even make eye contact with us. read more

I enjoy finding unique items at thrift stores and had wanted to stop in for quite some time when passing by. Finally made it in and the store was well presented. As I was looking around I found many items were extremely overpriced for a thrift store. The average little knick knack/decorator item was $20 and up. They get this stuff donated and act like it is their personal items to sell at a an unhappy garage sale. I did manage to find a couple items that were reasonably priced. My biggest dissapointment though was the employees. Questions were answered rudely and when I went to the cash register I asked if they were cash only. The lady snapped at me saying no and then rudely took my card as if I were annoying her. Another girl wrapped my items and neither said thank you. I will not be back, that is the positive part of the review. read more

This is a very large thrift store with a bit of everything. They always have a wide variety of quality, condition and options from furniture to knick-nacks, clothing, jewelry, kitchenware, wall art, and craft items. The staff are usually helpful and friendly, but are mostly volunteers. So sometimes they can't accommodate a request, and there is absolutely no bargaining there. As someone else mentioned, the prices on many items are extremely high for a thrift store. Fortunately they often have sales - something on sale every day it seems. It's fun, but don't expect to walk into a sea of bargains. read more

Hope Chest was a stop made by a friend while I was a ride along. Giving this place a 1-star rating would have been unkind as there were a good number of generational folks in the place shopping .... so I felt like I was outside of the key demographic customer. Still, the offerings were old and many seemed like they'd been accepted when many other thrift operations would take a pass. While there was a wide range of things, furniture, clothing, pots, pans, dishes, and all the other thrift store items I got a little bothered by the atmosphere and selection. No thanks. Hope Chest does serve a purpose in the community for retirees or low/fixed income budgets. read more

As a long time "thrifter", I'm always looking for my "treasures" while I am on vacation. This store was a great find -- found a great satchel and backpack/purse -- all on half-off. Found the selection and value to be quite wonderful! Next time I'm in the area .. I'll be back! read more
