I have found some nice items in this store, and the staff have been helpful. Good prices and nice selection of items.

As an avid thrifter, my focus used to be high-end fashion. Not so much any more. My current…read moremission is art. Next year we hope to leave FL -- sorry, the state doesn't do it for me -- and sell my house, furnished. Art that I cherish is coming with me, but I don't want to leave bare walls. We fell upon Community Thrift Store almost inadvertently. They have plenty of framed pictures and wall hangings, some well-priced, some over the top. I have no interest in anything mass-produced that looks like it belongs in Motel Six. Simply put, I know what I like when I see it. And I saw it! A nicely framed, beautifully matted and signed photograph by R.C. Fulwiler from Saugatuck, MI. Reasonably priced at $15, it was also eligible for a 40% discount. Score! Community Thrift has furniture, most in very good shape. (Maybe I should have bought the solidly-built handmade table, also priced at $15.) There's a rack of clothing, supposedly from Chico's -- eh -- and other items one normally finds thrifting. Walking out I noticed that the store is under the direction of Shell Point, a wonderful senior community that houses the Tribby Gallery. (Tribby's exhibits always pique my interest. If you're local, check their schedule.) Proceeds go towards combatting Parkinson's disease. I like this place!

Visually it's dark in the bulky cabinets when you walk in the door. There are way too many racks for clothes. That valuable floor space should be used for furniture. Hardly any furniture or pictures displayed anymore. Such a shame who ever laid this store out didn't keep the same vibe. My advice flip flop this store and put your best stuff as you walk in the door.

I NEVER leave reviews, but I had to today…read more My girlfriend found an antique drafting table/easel that she's always wanted, and purchased it yesterday. She was beyond excited, and we were told we could pick it up today. Apparently, someone removed the "sold" sticker from the easel, and sold it to a customer. Keep in mind that we ALREADY PURCHASED this item yesterday, it was OURS. How in the world you can be a professional business and sell other people's property that you're holding on to for pickup is beyond me. I don't know how the employees managed to let this happen, and to whoever ripped off the sold sticker and acted like it was available - I hope you feel good about yourself, because you broke my girlfriend's heart. Unbelievably frustrating. In conclusion, if you purchase furniture and the employees tell you that they can hold it for you to pick up the next day, don't expect them to be competent enough to do that. They'll sell it to someone else, even if you've already paid.

This big, heavy guy, Ernie, comes out to the SUV, looks at the stuff, and says, 'We don't take this.' I said, it is clothing, some new with tags, and housewares. And he proceeded to tell me it was too hot and he did not want anything. Very hateful and rude, so I left and brought it all to the Salvation Army, who profusely thanked me over and over. What a joke. They just lost a good donor.
