Well deserving of a 5 star rating for the friendliness of it's staff and both the quality and selection of the food here.
Normally you'd be expecting quality over quantity, but this place has both. The menu ranges from light bites, appetisers, sandwiches and a good selection of mains and fish dishes. The steak pie, ploughmans and hog roast are awesome. The mains come with a choice of potatoes, saute, or french fries; along with farm veg, peas or salad.
If your belly can handle a food challenge, this is the place that has your name on it. Dare you try and get through 3 courses....if not, you'll still be cosy and warm in this traditional English house of ale in front of one of 2 real fires.
The restaurant also has the landlords water jug collection of many years hanging from the ceiling and adorning other areas. Many of which now worth a small fortune. Nice jugs!! read more
