This was a nice property to stay at when we visited Sherwood Forest for the Robin Hood Festival. The room was cozy and had a boutique feel (although the mattress on the twin bed in the family room had a bit of a sink in the middle). I really liked all the quirky little common areas, particularly a sitting room they had with a massive fire and a medieval feel to it.
Breakfast was good - albeit it extraordinarily slow. We were in no rush and took it in stride. It's not always a terrible thing, being forced to slow down and just enjoy a lovely morning. There's a great lawn area in the back for kids to run around. I noticed several tables outside that weren't cleared for a good couple of hours, which is why I'm knocking off a star (in addition to the sloped mattress). From a hygienic standpoint that isn't ideal, but is certainly forgivable.
Overall a very nice place for families on a quiet weekend away. read more
