I can't say enough good things about this florist! I needed to get a bouquet for my granddaughter who was in a pageant. I wanted a colorful spring bouquet. When I called to place my order, they asked all the right questions: What was the occasion? What are her favorite colors/ what color scheme would you like? How old is she? What price range would you like to stay within? I asked for pink and purple flowers and told her what my granddaughter's dress looked like. I was blown away with how beautiful this bouquet was when I picked it up! And it smelled so good, too! I wanted it to be special for her because it was her first pageant. For $40 there were a dozen roses that were pink, purple and fuchsia. Also included were Gerbera daisies which were SOOOO BEAUTIFUL and in the same color scheme. They also made sure the bouquet wasn't too long since my granddaughter is only 8-years-old. This way, the flowers didn't overwhelm her since she's still so small. I have used ProFlowers the last 2 times I sent to my now 102 year old grandmother. I have been disappointed in their substitutions and price for what was received. I used Hoover florist for I boutonniere and corsage for my daughters homecoming dance. We ended up having someone else pick up the boutonniere and corsage so, not having the responsibility to pick it up anymore, I lost track of time with their store hours. I got a message from Hoover florist that I received about 20 minutes after they closed. They knew the dance was that night and we're concerned that no one had been by yet to pick up the order. They left the store open so we could come by and get the flowers. Not only were they considerate and above and beyond, but the flowers were absolutely beautiful. So far I've only used Hoover Florist a few times just for simple things like boutonnieres and corsages. This place is located in a large shopping center right off Hwy 31 and located between Greenvalley drugs and the rather new branch of the Jefferson County Dept of Revenue. It's a large florist with many plants and flowers on display for purchase. This particular visit I ordered a corsage to be picked up in a few days. The lady who took my order was very nice and friendly. She offered the different choices of ribbons and bands for the corsage. I do remember one particular time when I was trying to call them and they were either having some phone issues or were very busy because they were not picking up. I have never used them to deliver flowers so I have no comments about that. For quick bouquets of flowers I typically run into a Publix where flowers are cheaper, but if you're going to do a wedding or have something that requires an order, Hoover Florist would be an option I would consider. read more

Okay! This place is amazing. I wanted to give my sister a mailbox topper for her birthday in December. I had tried to accomplish this task myself but circumstances prevented me getting to Hoover for her birthday. Aha! I'll try the florist I know my sister has used in the past. I called the day of her birthday (a Friday) hoping to get it delivered to her by Saturday at the earliest. I explained my situation and the reason I couldn't get to Birmingham (car accident) to the young lady on the phone. They said they could do it but it would definitely be Saturday for delivery. No problem. The owner calls back around 4:30 p.m. and says that they absolutely want her to have it on her birthday and that she'll deliver it herself, install it on the mailbox, and put a card on the inside of the mailbox with a message from me! Who does that kind of thing anymore? My sister loved it which makes me SO happy and grateful for Hoover Florist! My parents also live in Hoover so they have become my "boots on the ground" anytime I need flowers delivered there! read more

Above and Beyond customer Service, even around Mother's Day, the biggest day of the year for flowers I think. I was late in ordering a bouquet for our Daughter who lives in Hoover, AL for delivery on Saturday before Mother's Day. I could not get through on the phones and my son-in-law not able to run to the shop to see if it was open and could talk to someone, so I placed the order for Monday delivery, a day late after Mother's Day. Not long after placing the order I got a personal call, we talked, they were so slammed with orders they had turned the phones off. I shared my desires to get a bouquet delivered or picked up on Saturday. I'm in IL, my daughter in Hoover. My Son-in-Law could pick up the flowers. They told me they'd have my order ready on Saturday. They were and my son-in-law picked them up and they were beautiful. Really great people to work with. if I could give ten stars I would. I brought in an ornament of Ruby Slippers and these wonderful people built an entire spray encompassing The Wizard of Oz theme including a vine tornado an Emerald a city a rainbow and Kansas. I never ever expected such detail but if they had known our Teacher Jen who the flowers were for her funeral they would have seen her tears of joy and amazement. She was a blessing to us all and Hoover Florist went above and beyond and blessed us with something so creative that I will never forget it. I just hope she could see it too. read more

Re: order 50974 I have to say I am a bit disappointed that a requested 'morning delivery' of flowers so my wife could get the joy of the gift throughout the day was an epic fail. At 1:00 it hasn't even left the shop yet? If I would have known that a morning delivery could not have been accommodated, I would have selected another florist or delivered them myself. Sitting at lunch with her coworkers on her 25th anniversary with no flowers from her husband. Not cool. Not sure how to respond without losing my temper. Unbelievable. We ordered flowers for a co-worker who achieved a major milestone. While the bouquet was delivered in a timely fashion and very nice, it wasn't the wow factor we'd hoped for.
