Everyone was very pleasant! So one thing that you should know for certain, once you step in the building, you're about to over pay for everything. Another fact, the food is not going to be gourmet. All that to say, you have to level set your expectations. That's just reality. Okay, onto the food. They have a variety of menu items with pages and pages of drinks. The cocktails are great, and I love that they offer Icee's. We ordered the kids pepperoni pizza, and it was a kid size personal pan. My kids enjoyed it. We also had the mozzarella sticks which were pretty tasty actually. The cheeseburger was good, I think they forgot my bacon jam now that I'm thinking about it. They were not stingy with the bacon which I really appreciated it. The ingredients looked fresh. The brioche bun was great. The fries were the season fries. Shoestring fries or regular fries would have been better. The chicken tenders are the best thing there. The grilled shrimp wasn't bad either. The food was not as bad as I thought it would be after the reviews. The thing is it is so expensive, but again you already know it's like going to a theme park and expecting fair prices. The temperature of the food was good as well. We had a lot of fun with the new additions!

Although I have been to waffle House, which I'm sure I reviewed prior. I came in around supper time, 6:00 p.m. or so, and it was probably at 75% capacity. I sat at the bar, after being welcomed by a local fully equipped with his own Skynyrd beer koozie!! Hahaha! They have karaoke, and they karaoke DJ spinning all the good country hits, literally emulating exactly what I play at home. Anyhow, the local that pulled my chair out essentially, told me that the "bartender sucked" But in good ole down home local fashion, she clapped right back, and obviously he was joking cuz she is phenomenal. Despite having a completely full bar, and waiting tables, she acknowledged me almost immediately. Even sat down in the bar stool next to me to take my order and chit chat and go over the menu with me. I think her name was Alicia, but regardless she was outstanding! I ordered hot wings and lemon pepper wings. They came out really fast, really hot, and really good. I kind of wish I had room to order another entree, but it filled me up. As I waited for my food, I was suddenly engulfed by an entire group of locals. Now this place, is the mature crowd, and they were so nice they sort of took me under their wing! This is the epitome of down south hospitality. I've been holding out on coming to this place for a few years now, and looking back, I wish I would have came a lot sooner. I hate using the term "vibe", But this is totally my vibe. Great food, great service, great locals, laid back atmosphere with music playing and karaoke? You just can't beat it. I have responsibilities, so I had to leave really early, but rest assured, I will definitely be back. I mean who else is going to sing Jason Aldean on the karaoke machine? Thank you skynyrd's, thank you Alicia (I hope I remembered your name right), such a great experience and I'm sorry I had to cut it short! Iama Critic Rating - Hooters - 5 Stars 5195 Fernandina Road, Columbia, SC Overall: 5 star reviews should be reserved only for the best experiences. Yes you can go to Hooters and not care one hoot about what your waitress looks like. And we are glad we did because our experience was one of the best we ever had, simply incredible service and utterly fantastic food. $8.99 - Cobb Salad - 5 Stars This salad was outrageously packed with stuff. And then I added some Mahi Mahi for $3.49 and made it the KING of COBBS! Regardless if you order it standard or outrageous, this is a must have salad and could be a meal all by itself. $6.99 - Big Dipper Chili Cheese Fries - 5 Stars These fries are incredibly hard to eat without getting messy. If you are on a date, avoid this appetizer because one way or another that cheese is going to get on you, your clothes or your date. But this is also the best chili cheese fries I ever tasted and it's a big bowl of fries too! Simply fantastic! $8.99 - Fish Sandwich - 4 Stars This sandwich fairs comparably to some of the best fish sandwiches we have ever had. The curly fries were unique and tasted good. I loved the pickle and wanted another one. I wanted more spice on my fries, and my waitress brought me some, and that is what makes a great waitress. She fixes problems and turns your 3 star fries into 4 star fries! $4.99 - Onion Rings - 4 Stars These rings were very good, light and crispy, but after having onion rings at Cheddar's Casual Cafe, this onion rings just aren't the best anymore. $5.50 - Bowl of Chili - 4 Stars $1 of this price was for extra cheese and onion. This may not be tournament quality chili, but it is very good for the price. $3.99 - Key Lime Pie - 5 Stars $3.99 - Caramel Fudge Cheesecake - 5 Stars Finally an affordable desert that is big enough to stand up straight. And look at that gorgeous presentation. By this time I believe our incredible waitress and the chef were just showing off. But frankly why shouldn't they? This cheesecake and pie were slices of heaven. OUR WAITRESS: A fantastic waitress is fantastic regardless of what she looks like. We could have been a group of blind guys and Lisa L. still would have been one of the best waitresses ever to serve 5 Star Restaurant Reviews. So to make our point we didn't take a picture of her, we took a picture of her badge! Lisa L. sets the service bar for what every waitress ought to provide. She was fun, courteous, fast, provided everything we wanted, fix the problems we had and most of all she was actually interested in the enjoyment of all my guests. For this incredible service Lisa received a 50% tip! read more

I visited Old Chicago in Columbia, SC on Friday at approximately 4:30 PM with my wife and sister…read more Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience we've had here, which was especially disappointing because we've visited multiple times in the past and always recommended this restaurant to others. When we arrived, we were told the pizza oven was down. That wasn't a huge issue, so I specifically asked our waitress if it would affect anything else on the menu. She initially told us it would not. After we were seated and ordered our appetizer, we were then informed that the Spinach & Artichoke Dip couldn't be made because the pizza oven was down. That directly contradicted what we had just been told. If other menu items were unavailable, we should have been informed before ordering. My wife ordered an Irish Mule, and it was poorly made. We've ordered drinks here before without any issues, so this was surprising and disappointing. I ordered the French Dip, and it was one of the worst I've ever been served. The sandwich arrived already completely soaked through with au jus, making the bread soggy and falling apart before I even picked it up. The au jus itself was unusually thick and slimy instead of being a light dipping sauce. The presentation looked rushed and careless, as if no attention had been paid to plating. The service only got worse from there. After our food was delivered, no one came back to check on us, ask how everything was, or offer refills. We eventually had to flag someone down just to get our check. I also think the wait staff could benefit from better training in professionalism and guest interaction. The overall service felt awkward and inattentive. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that my wife and I have always enjoyed coming here. We brought my sister because we genuinely believed she'd have a great experience based on our previous visits. Instead, it was honestly embarrassing. Being from New York City and Boston, we've eaten at plenty of restaurants, and this visit simply didn't meet even basic expectations. We spent $93.47, and unfortunately, it felt like money wasted. This wasn't just a mediocre meal--it was an experience that made me feel embarrassed for recommending the restaurant in the first place. I sincerely hope this was just an off day because Old Chicago has been a great establishment in the past. However, based on this visit, I can't recommend it until the food quality, communication, and service improve.
