This was my first time going to this event. Not sure if I'd go again, but I'll give you the pros…read moreand cons. Pros: 1. Lots of beer and a good variety of it! I believe there were about 90 vendors, each pouring about 2-3 of their beers on average. Great opportunity to try breweries that you've never been to. 2. The park is big and there's lots of shade and trees, which came in handy on a 90 degree day like today. 3. Lots of porta potties available throughout the park. 4. A decent selection of food vendors. 5. Beer lines are not too long and the lines go fast. 6. Lots of discount ticket codes available online for this event. Just do a search and you can save $5-10 per ticket. 7. Free water & soda. 8. Water mist blowing in certain sections of the park to keep people cool. 9. There's a shuttle service, but they don't start taking people back to the off-site parking lot until 3:30pm, so if you want to leave early, you're stuck. Cons: 1. There is only one way in and out of the park, and the lines can be long. It's worth it to buy the VIP pass for $10 more and get in an hour early to avoid the long lines. 2. Cops are waiting at the entrance/exit. Definitely have a designated driver or have someone drop you off (friend, Uber, etc). 3. Ticket prices are kind-of high, even if you can find a discount code online. I think $35 general admission is fair. 4. The food vendors were spread out in different areas. I think it'd be better to put them all in one section. Also, food is an extra cost (not part of the ticket). 5. No maps available. 6. No cell phone service available in the park. You have to catch a ride from someone to get back to the entrance if you want to call Uber. If you're a beer aficionado, then you'll love it! I'd give this event 3.5 stars overall. For 2 VIP tickets plus Uber, the total event came out to $150. Not worth it if you're just an occasional beer drinker.

Two of my favorite things…read more Unfortunately, I didn't run but I did enjoy hanging out with my friend Albert, some of the Yelp crew, and meeting up with some familiar faces. Irvine Park was a great venue. It was spacious and there were plenty of places to sit and ample shade. The White Rabbit truck provided some music and we got to sample from several trucks - Fresh Fries, The Lime Truck, Great Balls, Lobsta Truck, and Tapa Boy. Also got to run into my favorite, Chunk n Chip and take a ride in their truck. Woohoo!! The highlight of the day was seeing Adam Richman. I LOVE his show. We stayed to watch it being filmed and managed to get a photo at the end. That was beyond amazing. I loved every moment of that. Experiencing how the show is filmed, talking to the competitor, and watching it being filmed was just so cool. Can't wait for it to air in 4 weeks. I feel like a mini-celebrity. Great job Munchathon crew! You rock!

Woohooo! It was food truckin' all the way this weekend in Santiago Canyon!…read more Thanks to the awesome Hazel Q, I snagged myself some complimentary tix to the food truck festival at the Munchathon event this past Saturday! Although it took awhile to find this elusive event, as soon as I did, it was like finding a gourmet food oasis in the middle of the dessert! There were loads of gourmet trucks serving up tasty street fare to hungry athletes and spectators alike! With that said, I wasted no time in diving into the food frenzy and sampling some new tasty food truck fare for myself! I hit trucks like the Cheeseball Wagon, Short Stop BBQ, Lime Truck, Vchos Papusa Truck, Kona Ice and Tornado Potato to name a few! Everything I tried was fantastic and I must say I left totally full and satisfied! To my surprise, Adam from Man Vs. Food was spotted filming on the grounds and folks started snapping tons of photos! Unfortunately the crew trumped most of us from nabbing a snapshot of the food star. As you can see, I said some of us... I did in fact manage to get a photo! Of his back, of course! Buzzkill! In any case, it was good fun and although I missed my Yelp buddies, I was able to hit up some really awesome food trucks that I've never tried before! Here's to tasty new discoveries and awesomely good times! Happy Eats!

I figured there would be a few beer stands and that you would get your beer and just hang out. Well, when you first get there they give you a tiny little cup. At first, you're thinking that this is some type of joke. But it isn't. It's kind of like wine tasting but with beer. There were about 50 breweries being represented each with 2 or 3 types of beer. They had some interesting one too, like rice beer and beer that looked like a Bloody Mary. There was a cover band and lots of good gourmet food trucks. We had fries with nacho cheese and jalapenos and a hot dog. All delicious. It's $40 and it's all you can drink. Do not let the little cups deceive you as you will get a buzz pretty quick. The event is 3 hours long but plenty of time to get your drink on. Word of advice, get there early, the traffic was horrendous. Park in VIP, it's $5 more, but you get to park at the entrance and are the first out at the end. Even though the food was good, the lines were long, so it may be best to eat before you arrive or eat early. We will be back next year.

Don't let the 3 stars fool you this was a fun event, 3-4 hours of beer sampling for $40-$50 is a…read moregreat time but I am grading on a curve scale by comparing the OC beer festival to the LA beer festival (both were run by the same organizer "Drink Eat Play"). The Phoenix club venue was a good location right behind the Anaheim pond aka Honda Center, parking in the Honda center was $10.00. The Phoenix club had plenty off room for the 48 beer vendors that were there & a sitting area that came in handy if you got something from the food trucks. Out of the 48 vendors in attendance this year only Shock Top, & Stella were the major brands there, the rest were local craft brewery's which is cool because you have a larger option of new beers to experience. Granted the LA fest had a lot more people than the OC fest there are still a few things the OC fest could have done to be close to perfect. The food trucks were inside the festival so if you showed up early to try & grab something to eat you had to wait for the start time. The LA fest had the food trucks in the waiting area so you could get your ID & tickets checked & wait for the event to start by the gate or get food while you wait. For tickets I didn't see an option to purchase non-drinking admission prices so if you had someone come with you as your designated driver they still had to pay full price. They weren't giving out or even selling water like I've seen at other beer fest, my cousin luckily got a bottle from one of the beer vendors but next time I'll be sure to bring my own water just incase. Besides those little details this beer fest is a must do if you want to try some new beers, & have a good time with your friends & fellow beer lovers.

Seeing there are 9 reviews already and all are 1 star makes me seriously feel better…read more I felt like I was missing something at this "Festival". For starters, it was very confusing to find. Once we found it... we were charged $10 for parking... in the dirt with rocks that Im really surprised didnt give me a flat tire. Once down the hill, a "security" guard walked over to us and asked for our tickets. There were people sitting at some picnic tables, and I assumed they were waiting for the general admission, which started at 12. It was only 11:30. He said no, he didnt care. So those of that paid the $10 or $40 VIP to get in early should demand your money back. I paid $5 and feel SO RIPPED OFF! We walked into the area of tents and were super confused. I literally thought I was missing something. There were about 10 vendors, if even that many. We figured there had to be more around a corner somewhere, something. Nothing else. There was a HUGE line for the BBQ vendor, that I refused to stand in... in the heat. We got in line for the Fish Tacos. It was a fairly quick line, but the line to pick up your order took a lot longer. Probably a good 20 minutes. I do have to say, the fish tacos were REALLY good. HOWEVER... at the $5 Food Festival, there was tax. Everything was $5.40 which seriously? Annoying as F.... We were lucky enough to find a spot in the shade and ate our tacos. Next we went to the Waffle-icious truck. I had a Caramel and Creme Waffle and my friend got the Strawberries and Creme Waffle. Again. $5.40 each. Lame. That line was short and quick and we were able to find another seat in the shade. Against my better judgement, I decided to get the nachos from the shaved iced booth. They were good, but I ate too much and I could have easily made these at home with a can of chili and bag of tostitos. Oh well. After that, we left. We were there just over an hour. The long line at the BBQ vendor never broke. The empenada line was the other long one, and that got shorter in time - sounds like they started running out of items. I have NO idea what "sold out" meant here, but I dont think there were over maybe 200 people in the entire time we were there. A bottle of water was $3, as was a soda in a cup full of ice with a splash of soda. That was the biggest let down of an event that I have honestly ever been too. The Fish Tacos and Waffle were good but to spend $15 to even get into this event that was a major disaster and joke, is awful. I am so curious if this was the first time this event happened... just... WOW.

So I'm giving them another star for at least listening to customer complaints and providing refund. But still doesn't get them off the hook for a poor expeirence. They could have at least still contacted pre-paid customers and offered the refund without being asked. (ask for event ticket refund at https://fivedollarfoodfest.com/about/contact/) They did say they couldn't refund the $10 parking fees since it was the venue folk who charged the fee (against their direction) and not them. I did also contact the venue management and asked for a refund, they too responded quickly and said will be sending me a check for the parking. (ask for parking refund at http://jamesevents.com/contact-us/)

If you have never heard of these band, you shouldn't they're amazing! The venue is outdoors near Irvine Lake. There is a lot of parking thank goodness for my handicap because we got up front parking so we didn't have to walk too far which was nice. We got VIP tickets so we were able to use the bathroom which was easier and quicker instead of waiting in the long line at the Porta potties. They had a lot of vendors selling food, snacks, band shirts, and lots of merchandise that you can take home or wear. They sold skateboard deck which was pretty Rad. I wanted to get so many things but didn't. They sell beer and drinks all over the place. The VIP area was pretty nice, it was all ages today, which was cool so kids can go to. Nice to be close to the stage and be able to come and go as you please which was really nice. Ran into some friends, which was wonderful. We had such a great time. Ended up getting some beers and Parmesan garlic fries which were delicious. We had an amazing time walking around was really hard for me though, but in the VIP area they have some seating area which we got to sit at the end when Bad Religion played I so needed those seats lol. They also had some picnic tables around for people to sit, it was pretty muddy this time because of the rain but it wasn't too bad they put down hay, but some areas your feet would sink into the ground lol. There were a lot of friendly people talked to. We were close to the front of the stage so we got in the middle of mosh pits, which was kind of crazy lol. But I stayed to the side so I didn't get hurt or anything. Everybody had a blast, and was feeling the music. I know I was. Bad religion did amazing, They're so good live, dead Kennedy's did amazing too and Aquabats always brings kids on the stage to dance which is awesome. Such good vibes tonight I like this venue for shows. There's always friendly people here the people attending and all the employees working at the venue, they always do such an excellent job putting everything together. Thank you for such an amazing night tonight and incredible show. Awesome bands and great memories. Can't wait to come back here to the next show it's always so much fun. This is our second time coming to punk in the park, so worth it if you like punk music, I like all music it soothes the soul. Have the most beautiful day be kind to everyone :) Aloha, can't wait to come back again

Went to a drive-in this past Saturday and it had all the amenities - food, drinks, white claws, and portapotties (cleaned but I personally wouldn't use them). The closing time of the venue is 10pm so you could probably hold it in for the whole time anyways. Whichever music organizer you have, you'll get a fresh break considering how limited music events have been due to COVID. Soundxperiment did a good job with keeping people apart and making sure people weren't crowding the whole time. There was staff everywhere to check in between cars, and overall I was satisfied with their precautions. I'm also happy that their entry and exit options are super smooth: little waits and pretty well organized on that front. I can't rate this a 5 if other venues like the Gorge or LV speedway exist for Bass Canyon and EDC respectively. This place is still a good local spot for drive-ins, though
