The website keeps pointing me to a local pro shop here in Chicago to inquire about a Hammer bowling bag that may/may not be released to the public. I have already called three pro-shops with the SKU number of the bag, and they had no clue what I was talking about. One pro-shop didn't even know Hammer had a website...WTF!!! The larger was ticketed and we breezed through security easily and got our bracelets so we could go back and forth. That venue is actually pretty darn big with most of the crowd on the floor, though there is a small, narrow balcony of sorts upstairs (really only good for one or two rows deep). Sound was great and the crowd was really friendly and welcoming (maybe it was a fundraiser thing but it was a good group). After we saw the band we came to see we stayed to watch some more of the next act but wanted to make sure we could grab some food so we headed to the main bar and ordered just before they closed the kitchen. I went with the chicken fingers and tots and my husband went with the shepherd's pie. He wasn't sure how a music venue/bowling alley shepherd's pie would be and he said it was fantastic! My chicken fingers weren't anything particularly special but they were really good. And the tots? SOLID TOTS. Overall we had a great time! We had a bit of an uber drive from our hotel downtown but it wasn't too bad. There's also a huge parking lot if you choose to drive. When we arrived, nobody was at the Kid Check station -- the area where they stamp kids and parents to ensure safety when leaving. That's a huge concern, since that's the main system to make sure kids don't walk out with the wrong person. My kids were excited about the new trampoline zone, but we were told it was closed because "someone wasn't there" since they were cleaning for closing -- even though closing wasn't for another 3 hours. Then, before we left, I watched as they opened the trampoline area for another couple and their kids after the manager said, "We have no choice, they paid for it." So apparently, it can open -- that was frustrating and unfair. On top of that, a lot of the arcade machines weren't working, which made it hard for the kids to even use their play cards. The only positive part of the visit was the nice lady at the counter who gave my kids a toy from the prize station when they were disappointed. She honestly saved the visit from being a total loss. Overall, this location needs serious improvement in management, safety, and customer service. I wouldn't recommend this Chuck E. Cheese until they fix these issues.
