Not sure if this is how dining operations are supposed to go at Hooky but if it is, I'm not a fan of it. We waited 30 minutes for a warm drink after adding to the tab and I had to get up multiple times to talk to the employees to check on our order. No one stopped by to check on us while dining to see if things were going okay while we were eating. I get that it's busy but at the same time, it's not usual for people to go to a sit down dining location and not get checked on no matter how busy it is. The food wasn't great and wait was incredibly long. So if this is an experience "premium" added, it doesn't live up to the cost. And the tables and seats were dirty and greasy. Additionally, by the time we were done eating, the establishment ran out of arcade cards, which ultimately killed any other chance for a good experience on my son's birthday. Before coming here, please check out other places for entertainment or you'll end up wasting hundreds of dollars on the food alone. read more

The good: had no idea that there was an upper level - had row K on our tickets - walked into theatre and there is no Row K. Asked the manager and he directed us upstairs. This area was great! Comfy seats, you can place a food order straight from your seats. Bad: a tip screen pops up at the front counter once you place your order. So a tip is expected for someone to hand me a water bottle and bucket of popcorn? I understand the 'tip fatigue' cause that's just crazy. Yes, i know that I didn't have to tip, but that screen pops up before your grand total receipt is given. I could understand it if we did 'in seat service', but we literally got water and popcorn at the concession stand in the lobby. Elevator was out of service. Juke box was out of service. Haven't done the arcade or bowling side yet so I can't comment on those areas. read more

Not sure what it was like when it was Paragon, but the place was not great. Customer service was poor. I mean, every person working there we interacted with were rude and completely disinterested. we went bowling. $65 for *one hour* of bowling. there were four of us. we could not get through two games in that one hour. Area was not well kept, ceiling tiles falling, ball return machines broken. Folks next to us couldn't get the numbers to raise. It took *forever* for the pin setter and ball return. absolute waste of money. read more

The bowling alley is a joke. A waste of money. Every single Time someone hose one ball it gets stuck and you have to go get the people and then another person goes a ball and it gets stuck and you have to go get management every single lane here works one minute and then stop you spend all your time waiting for them to unstick balls. People are talking amongst themselves saying that they've had nothing but problems with their balls too, and they were here last week and it was the exact same thing. Management was overly rude due to making a tiktok in the hall way while waiting on a movie. We weren't in anyone's way and if people walked past we stopped recording (multiple employees walked past and said nothing) but apparently it was a "disruption" for him in but teens and kids literally running full speed back and forth isn't. If he said it politely it wouldn't have been a problem, but to get overly aggressive with 3 girls is unnecessary. read more

Very very hesitantly I consented to try this theater again because it is now under new management and because I'm tired of driving all the way up 95 just to see a movie. I went with a friend to Wicked for Good Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. All of the complaints that the old theater carried in my last review had been addressed. 1st the concession line while long went fast and the staff was helpful and informative. An usher told us our seats were upstairs and since we were laden with snacks he kindly hailed the elevator for us. We were seated in row H theater 1. The seats gave a perfect unobscured view. The sound was perfect for this movie musical clear and unmuffled, not too loud. The theater was clean the seats were comfy and the popcorn was fresh and the restrooms were clean. I was relieved at all the positive changes the new owners have made. I would've given five stars but the concession prices were just really high it was already $20 for the seat so I spent a total of $46 for a movie, popcorn and Diet Coke. Overall, I'm very pleased. Terrible experience! would not even recommend to my enemies. Spent over $220 on 6 people to bowl for 90 minutes and food. We couldn't even get through one game because the lanes kept breaking down. Got moved to another lane and it did the same thing. They said that they would give a refund, but here we are almost a month later and still no refund. This place is a joke. read more

Went last night to see Zootopia 2 with the kids. As a side note, Google says Kooky is owned by private equity through its parent company EVO Entertainment, and it shows. Popcorn was everywhere, and I mean everywhere. It was all over the floors in the main lobby and the theater. This used to be our favorite place to go see movies, but I am not going to pay over $50 when the place is that level of messy. Even Regal does better than this. It looks like the staff have just given up on maintaining the building, and the fire suppression system was out, who knows when that will get fixed... ...what if there is a fire in the kitchen, oh well I guess we just burn in our popcorn crusted sticky seats. read more

We were there at 12 Noon and were the only two people in the whole restaurant. The food was okay, my chicken sandwich was good. The fries were barely warm. Had to ask for napkins. We were surprised that no one else was eating in the restaurant but I didn't realize several people actually eat in the theater during the movie. read more

We wanted to give this place another chance. On Monday morning we went to the 0950 showing of a movie. We asked for a senior or military discount. All the young lady at the counter could do was giggle and say "I don't the discount policy." We asked for the upper theater and was charged twice the admission as those are concidered "primium" seats evan though they do not deliver food to them anymore. Also the seats were totally worn out and when you sit in them you sink so far that you can not see over the wall in front of you. All suurfaces were sticky and had not been cleaned. This place is falling apart. Go somewhere else. read more

I bought tickets online, and nowhere on the app as i bought the tickets did it state that a 17-year-old must be accompanied by someone over 21. I went with an 18-year-old, and when we arrived, we were told we were not allowed to watch the movie. We had already paid for the tickets and driven all the way to Fredericksburg. I've been coming to this theater for years and have never been denied entry to a movie, even when I was younger. Since the change in ownership, this theater has gone downhill. The previous owners ran it far better. Hooky has been an awful addition--policies are poorly communicated, and the theater is consistently not clean. read more

Where to begin...? This theater keeps going downhill fast! Improvements need to be made or close your doors! Anaconda advertised online but you can't find it on their ticket computers at the front so you have to go to guest services to buy the ticket. They advertise burgers at the concession stand but you have to walk to the bar to order one. The bar tells us they basically don't have much food in stock but they can make a burger. Their butter machines almost never works except maybe one. The burger patty came beyond small in size and the fries were so greasy I couldn't eat them. My kids pizza never came out so we went to get it. Pizza was beyond overcooked but I didn't realize until durning the movie I see her trying to gnaw at the crust which was so hard. They did send us a new pizza where the manager actually walked into theater with it but yelled out did you get a pepperoni pizza? During a movie you talk softly to customers if needed as to not disturb others...apparently he doesn't know that. (It wasn't a loud scene at the time). The seats are buttery and theater just nasty and dirty...the kids working there are on their phones from the kid that is supposed to clean and the ticket taker....Fire alarm is not working even though they have notices I don't know how you are allowed to stay open...exposed wires everywhere?!? I hope none of them are live!!! They should at the very least been capped off. Duh! The bathrooms stink, paper towel dispensers don't work usually and WHYYYY did you leave the toilet seat lids on some of them?!? You can barely access the flusher with lids in the way so people don't manually flush and the auto flush won't work. You all also blare music outside beyond loud. Just ridiculous. read more

Hooky Theater Lied Twice -- A Disservice to the Entire Moviegoing Experience I went to Hooky twice this week to see Fantastic Four, and both times Theater 3 had serious sound issues. On the first visit, manager Donny told us a power surge had blown a speaker, but that it was being fixed at that very moment. We were given passes and assured it would be resolved. I returned a few days later and specifically asked the ticket taker if Theater 3's sound had been fixed. They said yes. It hadn't. Same busted sound. Same unwatchable setup. I walked out again--two visits, two wasted trips, and zero screenings. That's not bad luck. That's mismanagement and flat-out dishonesty. As someone who works in the entertainment industry, I find this completely unacceptable. What Hooky is doing isn't just poor customer service--it's a disservice to the cinematic experience itself. At a time when theaters are struggling to bring people back through the doors, misleading audiences and charging full price for a compromised presentation is indefensible. Movies are meant to be immersive. That depends on sound, image, and trust that the venue respects its audience. Hooky violated all three. They've lost my business--and anyone who values their time or money should seriously reconsider giving them theirs. read more

Sound was broken in on of the auditoriums. Sounded like the movie was playing through a speaker phone. They didn't inform us, but I'll give them credit they did give free movie passes and allowed us to see another showing that same day but in a smaller theater than we paid for. The arcade is awful. Half of the games don't work, and the ones that do glitch or dont have enough materials to actually play the game. This is the third time this theater has changed ownership and it gets worse every time. At this point, just sell it to AMC or something because this is ridiculous. read more

I have seen this theater have many different owners/names over the years and never have I had a problem till last night. I want to enjoy a late date night to see avatar at 9:20 3-D and they had two buckets of 3-D glasses that were all very clearly used and dirty. The only employee I could find the whole time I was there was before 10 o'clock and seemed to be a highschooler I ordered drinks that I never received and when I left, there was nobody there all the lights were off no employees nobody in sight to ask for a refund nothing. If I could give zero stars I honestly would. Definitely encouraging my friends and family not to go there any more. read more

All new food all new prices. I'd say it's pretty cheap for a meal. On 15 bucks for a whole package. I like it. Seats still recline they aren't too strict. I've chatted with the workers they are friendly and definitely a little gossipy so I got to hear some stories. I've never had a bad experience with the bathrooms. Planned to come for a fun afternoon with the kids and it was a terrible experience. We started with dinner. We had to figure out where to go on our own. Never had anyone come over to the table. We used our phone and QR code to order. The food took forever and we were the only ones eating. My husband had to go ask around to find out if we had to go pick it up somewhere. It was very over priced. A server brought our food out without saying a word then left. No drinks and no plates. We waited about 15 min and then my husband went to find out where our drinks were. We had 2 different people come ask us what we ordered. Then the manager came and asked us the same thing. He came back with our drinks and a free bucket of popcorn. He was nice. But we had to get up over and over for any refill or need. No real customer service besides the single experience with the manager. The chicken tenders were dry, pizza sauce was a strange taste. We wanted to do the arcade but decided not to because the prizes were trash and going to cost a lot of tickets. Then we were going to do bowling, but decided the experience we had with just the food "service" was awful and we didn't want to give them anymore of our money. This place has changed names many times. We come here less and less with each change. This has to be the worst of them all. We pay $42 for tickets... $9 a beer, $15 for chicken tenders, $11 for one dessert and $9 for another. We got our beer unopened (needed a bottle opener), our food took an hour from before the movie (it came out cold and burnt), dessert had melted ice cream! We ordered more beer, took 30 minutes. It came with the cap on again! We asked for them to open it and received it right before the movie ended! This place has gone up on price but more than anything has the worse service!!! This place keeps going down hill! I thought last time we came since this place has been named "HOOKY" that it was just a bad day. But here we are a second time with the same experience!! first time here - worst experience at a movie theatre you can have. first, you see the people working everywhere and dodge ladders while entering the theatres because they are on fire watch with no working system. then about halfway thru the previews the volume goes out. then after all of that and you spent over $130 on food, they deliver your pizza in an actual baking sheet that's covered with grease and just lay it on your lap for you to eat the liquid covered pizza. no napkins, no plates, nothing. after missing the first 12 minutes of the movie trying to get the baking sheet set in an empty seat, we were able to watch the movie. one and done for us. I see other reviews telling them they had better fix or they will start losing business, for us - they can fix and we will still never go back. loss of words... read more

I've been coming here for years and can honestly say the crew they have here is awesome. They always greet and serve you with a smile, any concerns are immediately addressed, and the theater is clean. I love their $5 Tuesday deal, I can watch any new movie with my family and not break the bank which is kind of nice when prices have gotten out of hand everywhere else. I especially love their $1 summer kids movie, no better place to be when it'a super hot outside. I will call up some friends to join us and make it a morning get together, excellent $3 spent. As for food, we have ordered the pizzas which were suprisingly pretty good and it was nice to have it delivered to us. I do wish they have some sort of tray, like they do upstairs, to eat on but we made it work. Hooky is a place my family and I do look forward to going to every week. Every place has it's flaws but "sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name and they are always glad you came." read more
