I really can't see how anyone gave them less than 5 stars after our trip yesterday. We took my father in law for a 1/2 day deep sea fishing trip for his birthday and he had a blast. The captain, deck hands and staff were absolutely amazing. We're beginners and they really took the time to help us feel confident in our efforts. Replacing many lost anchor weights and hooks along the way. I have to also give a shout out to the female cook who griddled up some solid burgers, melts and burritos out at sea, enduring the heat in the galley. Huge thanks to everyone at Hook's and we'll see you all again very soon!

You can pay and have them fillet it for you

This was one of the best Deep Sea fishing experiences I have ever had. The Captain and his crew really helped the guests and we caught tons of fish!! Highly recommend!! They definitely take care of you and really do the best to make your trip enjoyable.

Best day yesterday. It started a little slow for us, lots of rockfish and mackerel and then this happened.... I landed a Mako Shark! The whole crew on the boat were great! Even the random photo bomber. We look forward to booking again soon.

Our 3/4 day deep sea fishing trip was amazing. I went with different company before but this time with Hook Landing was the best trip I ever had. The crew were friendly and helpful, the trip went to beautiful location where we fished by the Anacapa Island of Channel island national park and caught a lot of fish. We also saw a lot of dophins so it was an extra .

We took our daughter fishing for her birthday and we all had a wonderful time on the Coroloma! The Captain and deck hands were so nice and VERY helpful, as this was our first time. We caught lots of fish and the crew was nice enough to answer all our questions and help us with our equipment. Food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. We'll be back!

To say this skipper and crew are outstanding is an understatement. After a lifetime of being on boats as both customer and crew, I can honestly tell you that the Mirage runs a high quality operation. Veteran deckhand Ryan and the whole crew are always, and I mean ALWAYS, Johnny on the spot if you need a fish gaffed, if you get a tangle, if you lose a rig and need it re-tied... Just amazing. The boat sleeps 24, and it's no foo foo pleasure cruise, but comfortable and a pretty good ride. A full galley with indoor seating, plenty of deck space, and double bait tank capacity makes this a great platform for overnight fishing to the outer islands. Little extras like keeping lingcod and other delicate fish in the ice water hold below decks for the trip, the positive and polite crew, and one of the most knowledgeable young skippers on the coast makes this my favorite boat for rockfishing. They simply find fish, and do everything they can to help you out them on the boat. These guys earn their tips and greatly appreciate the opportunity to truly work hard for you. Fish cleaning on the boat is professional and neat... Buck a fish, $2 for lingcod and other select bigguns. Ever get a whiff of rotting fish carcasses in your trash cans after a few days in the sun? Worth every penny and then some. Whether you're a veteran or a novice, this crew will take care of your fishing needs.

Even NBC 7's helicopter eventually ran out of fuel while trying to film the event! It took me almost an hour in the morning to drive from Pasadena to Ventura Beach. I set the GPS to navigate to the pier, where there is a garage nearby. I drove in and found it completely unattended; the fee booth was empty. After driving around inside, I found an outdoor parking lot that was even closer to the pier. There was no one at the entrance, likely because it is the "off-season." It was less than 20 meters from the parking lot to the wooden steps of the pier. There were fewer than 20 people on the pier that morning, even though it was nearly 8:00 AM. The restaurant wasn't open yet, and they likely don't open during this time of year. Walking on the pier is very peaceful, even if the sound of the sea is quite loud. The public restrooms were clean as well. It is a wonderful break to have on the drive from Los Angeles to San Jose. My recommendation: go there early during the quiet season.

My question is if they know about this major disconnect in communication between the two that is so bad that it's affecting customer reservations then why have they not fixed it at all? In regards to service it was horrible as the ranger Graceyn was extremely rude even laughing at our predicament and saying we were lying about our reservation, it was hard to even begin talking to her as before anything she didn't want to even talk to us and had to be convinced by another ranger to talk to us which was very weird behavior? I've never experienced such ungrounded rudeness before to the point where the other ranger seemed almost apologetic in the stead of Graceyn's behavior. I understand everyone has a bad day or long shift but this was beyond that so i highly do not recommend this place for the horrible communication and service experience. Very disappointing with the whole predicament but silver lining, we were able to transfer to another campground which was the best part of the service there so i'm thankful we at least were able to get that.
